missing from the message she was getting there. Her families views eventually did not matter to her enough nor that of what others said. Yolanda maintains she is pretty lucky in that she is a very independent person and rarely needs some sort of validation from someone else. She does admit though that the beginning after her ‘’break-away’‘ from the norm was not that easy, but with time it became easier. Jolanda says in terms of people accepting their journeys and being able to accept their spiritual side in terms of their religious backgrounds is not easy and one that she does understand because they are scared not only from the fearfulness of what they may find, but fearing the reaction of family and friends . And it can be a lonely journey which is not always acceptable to people. When going through shifts and evolutions her body underwent big changes. No doctor could tell her what was happening, and even though she had an inkling of what it could be her physical mind wanted some kind of affirmation. It all started around 2008/9 when her body went absolutely haywire. It took a few years to actually comprehend all that was taking April 2016
place. This was the hardest period for her. As she said previously in the back of her mind she had an inkling but the human side of her wanted to hear what the doctor had to say. This led to numerous visits to the doctor with countless tubes of blood being taken and no logical answer. Her inner self knew it was DNA activation that was causing all her problems and her body was taking a hard knock upgrading. She could not explain to people what was happening, or in reality what she was feeling. Words seemed inappropriate or missing from the vocabulary as it sounded insane and she felt like she was loosing her mind in some ways. Jolanda describes her ‘’ailments’’ like this. She started picking up weight at an alarming rate, and with no reason as she ate a healthy balanced diet. She exercised but suddenly a brisk walk was inconceivable, her heart would go racing with heart palpitations, the palpitations happened with the slightest exertion. More perplexing were the pains in her body for which there was no reason. So she went from being a very healthy human being to hardly being able to get out of bed. What she did notice was that Aneis de Vida
every time there was some kind of solar flare she would feel as though she had stuck her finger in a plug or live wire. She learnt to manage the physical side of her being. Though she kept trying to find some form of relief. One day she went to an acupuncturist and thought that due to his profession he would understand or be more open to what she was trying to say about her body. Well unfortunately he lifted his eyebrow as if to say ‘’another mad person has entered my sphere’’. Resulting in her realising this was one journey she would be loathed to share with people, even those who she thought were open enough to understand clearly were not.
itual healing will be a quick fix. This is not the case it is a journey where healing takes place from within, working on yourself with the help and guidance of a light worker. When asked what her greatest wish is for our mother earth she replies: ‘’I am a dreamer so I wish for oneness and unity to become the order of the day. To be able to live in harmony with the animals, trees, plants and one another. To breakaway from the negative conditions that have and still do hold us captive. There are also those who will believe that shamanism is demonic. A friend and client was confronted with family who felt and believed she had become possessed. Mara’s greatest wish for our mother earth and its inhabitants is that we let go of trying to control others, by letting go of the power struggle of control. And to concentrate on feeding the hungry, and that we can stop cutting down our wonderful trees. That people across the earth learn to evolve into their greatness.

As the book clearly depicts, we had an enormous amount of freedom and it was commonplace to be dropped off in the bush on one weekend and picked up the next. We honed our own bush-craft skills as a result of this freedom and it prepared us for the war. This made us perfectly at home in the bush and embued us with a confidence that eventually made us amongst the best counterinsurgency soldiers in the world – more than a match for the Communist Terrorists who started pouring over our borders. (Not all Rhodesian boys had this privilege – it wasn’t necessarily planned; but we were later thankful for the invaluable experience we were able to assimilate – the better for our later soldiering skills.)

An interesting personal account from a boys perspective and apart from giving the reader glimpses into a life then lived. It takes a special group of people to do what CROW does. They often work long after hours and are willing to go the extra mile for every animal to ensure that they can be returned to live safely and freely in their natural environment. These are some of the reasons why Tranquility Health and Beauty has decided to honour CROW with a charity drive.
Tranquility Health and Beauty will be holding a charity drive to help raise funds for the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife
Aneis de Vida
Tranquility is a spa in Westville that will be raising funds for CROW during April through a special 15 minute foot massage named “CROW’s feet” for R50. All funds from this treatment will be donated to them and Tranquility will also be a drop off point for donated goods. They have asked for the following goods to be donated: wild bird seed; chicken flavoured dog food; peanut butter; new or second hand towels, pillow cases, blankets, sheets; pasta; rice; Nespray milk powder; boxes of Latex gloves and many more.
If you would like to book the CROW’s feet treatment or would like to know what else you can donate, call +27 (0)31 837 1360. To see more about Tranquility, please visit www.tranquilityhealth.co.za

hen you think a thought again and again, you make that thought your belief. Today is a good day to take stock of the beliefs you have formed over your life. Look carefully and deliberately to find which are limiting you and which are serving you. Throughout your life you have repeated many thoughts time and time again. The contrast of your life caused you to do this. With each thought that you repeated over and over, you formed a belief about the topic of your attention and any practiced thought became your unique belief. This clutter of beliefs needs very much to be looked at as many of the beliefs you hold will keep you from having what you desire. Here are some examples that often come up:

need to confirm what exactly chakras are.
Chakras are energy vortices that exist within the etheric body and transmit life force energy to the body. Each chakra governs specific bodily functions of the organs in the body close to the area where the chakra is located. Each chakra has a specific colour that can be used for healing. Further to this each chakra also respond to specific sound vibrations.

read this statement“People want to lose weight but are not prepared to diet and exercise”. I gave this some thought. It is a blanket statement and in some cases not necessarily true. Yet the statement does allow the consideration of complexities pertaining to the concept of change in order to bring about a desired outcome. How prepared are we when faced with the need for change? How far are we willing to go in implementing the necessary changes in our lives? How strong is our comfort zone that keeps us fixed in our unwillingness to participate in our changes? All questions and many more that may be answered by students studying the mind. Yet how does it appear to the lay person who would like to understand in simple terms, ‘Why do we find the idea and implementation of change, challenging?’
Aneis de Vida
I certainly do not have the answer but in my observations, it is clearly apparent that we are very attached to ‘Our Story’. Which is quite natural considering this is the life we created and it holds great meaning to us, the individual. We work hard at creating our life story. There may be aspects that work very well, and others that don’t. Generally I think people would like to get on with their daily life, do what they think works for them and along the way, experience whatever the individual deems as an important outcome feeling.

This did not look like a life outcome that was worth considering. This is another one of my firm favourites. It very much continues the flavour of the kale recipe, using lemon juice and garlic. I love simple food which packs a flavourful punch and which doesn’t require a degree in home economics to prepare. Again this recipe doesn’t call for measurements as different people might like more or less of any specific ingredient. For example – I don’t like too much tomato in my barley salad, but I do like more onion. I am also not a huge fan of coriander, so when I add my coriander, I just add enough to marry the ingredients together. It is important to play with your food while creating it. It allows for you to develop your own unique flavour profile for any dish you’re making. INGREDIENTS: Finely chopped cherry tomatoes Finely chopped red onion Finely chopped coriander (washed) Barley Vegetable stock Salt Lemon juice Aneis de Vida
Crushed garlic METHOD: 1. Cook your barley as per the instructions on the packet. Instead of just boiling the barley in water, add some stock (as per the instructions on the stock packet). 2. Once the barley is cooked, drain it and set aside to cool. 3. Once cooled, mix in your chopped ingredients, a dash of lemon juice and crushed garlic. 4. Add salt to taste. (Usually I don’t add salt as the barley is already salted from being cooked in stock). For some extra oomph to the recipe, add some chilli and grated lemon zest.

Grief is a reaction of distress and intense sorrow in response to the experience of loss of someone or something to which one is strongly attached (Oxford Dictionary of Psychology). The Grief Process is the way we move through the different stages towards healing. Each and every individual experiences grief and move through the grief process in their own unique way. Although Elizabeth Kubler-Ross identified various stages of the grief process to assist people to understand their own experiences, there is just no way one can prepare or predict how such processes will unfold for everyone.
personhood); no time to say goodbye and often being left with many unanswered questions, which leads to a sense of incompletion or lack of closure. The corresponding grief reaction is then also often accompanied with feelings of regret, anger and guilt. Sometimes if left unattended, these emotions can get stuck into a state of complicated grief or incomplete grief, which hampers a person’s full functioning in life. Grieving is a process of release and vital to the restoration of psychological and physiological balance.
Kübler-Ross said that the grieving process involves experiencing all five stages, although not always in this order. She also said that people often cycle back and forth through a number of the stages before coming to the stage of acceptance.
For me, the grief process is like the season of autumn. Life is forever evolving and with every ending there is a promise of life in a new form. Autumn promises that the life that is changing, dying, shifting, transitioning, will be returned to us in a new way when it has completed its full Elisabeth Kübler-Ross outcycle. Also, numbing the pain means you are prolonging denial. This will make your grieving process longer.

If you don’t want to be alone, or if you want someone to take you somewhere, it is okay to ask. People don’t expect you to be selfsufficient right now.
Don’t hurry your grief process. People sometimes want to put their feelings and memories behind them because they are painful. But grieving takes time, and there are no shortcuts.

According to the world famous psychologist Carl Jung we are all connected at a deep subconscious level of the mind, which he called the 'collective unconscious'. This interconnectedness of all minds can explain various phenomena such as telepathy and absent healing, as the mental barriers separating individuals do not exist at these very deep levels. The normal boundaries of consciousness are created by each person’s subconscious mind as a protective mechanism to prevent a sensory overload, as one can well imagine what it would be like to continuously hear the thoughts of others, even when not present. However, whilst in a subjective meditative state, one is able to bypass these mechanisms, allowing the extension and projection of both consciousness and intent. In this way, thoughts, messages, feelings or even uplifting, healing or harmonious energies can be communicated between persons.

Normally , if one wishes to connect to another sentient being via his or her subconscious, it is necessary to first enter a very subjective altered state such as meditation, allowing one's own subconscious mind to open. Second, it is necessary to set a suitable intention and formulate an image of the person in the mind from memory or by focusing on a photograph. One can also simply state his or her name or that of a third-party family member or friend who has a prior relationship with this person. This allows one to 'dial up' the correct 'psychic address' of the person. Finally, one has to wait for a connection to be established, which can be felt either intuitively, or using a gesture such as the raised palm of the right hand. A connection will be felt as a slight bump or pressure on the palm. 66

Once this connection has been established, one simply has to state the message simply and clearly, or else enter a state of reflective listening to detect any impressions or words which will impose on the mind similar to a daydream.
and attention. However, as in the case of someone hearing his or her name in a noisy crowded room, we can become aware of a message which has personal relevance, in this case, a comment on my book. However, in most cases such communications are simply ignored or drowned out by the caThis phenomenon of telepathy and the con- cophony of the thinking mind. ditions required for it are best illustrated by a case study in which I was personally involved. This was rather an amusing incident that took place a few years ago when I had given a short talk on my recently published book at a local bookshop. I had just finished my talk, when clear as a bell, I picked up a female voice in my mind and the words ‘sounds like a lot of work!!’ I immediately glanced in front of me and saw a young woman looking down. At that time I got the distinct impression that it was her thoughts into which I had inadvertently tuned, but being concerned that a verbal reply may disturb her, I did not respond at all. What is interesting about this case is that the telepathic contact took place spontaneously, without my setting an intention or any obvious change in my state of mind. I do, however, recall that at the time, my mind was quite clear and unencumbered, and I could very well have momentarily entered a receptive state of mind. The fact that I was in the woman’s immediate vicinity could also have played a role, as she obviously had the book and its author in mind when she entertained that thought. This suggests that we are continually faced with a barrage of the thoughts of others, which could flood and overcome our sensory processes if it were not for the protective barriers imposed by selective perception Aneis de Vida

To navigate the new energies this month, you have got to be prepared to face some serious changes in your life. What is the good and bad you are attracting to yourself, without giving it any thought as to why your life is going the way it does? Have a good look at all thought patterns, and focus on changing negative thoughts into positives. Don't give in to letting things happen by default anymore. Get up, take action, and start anew. Start living from a place of love and see everything through this filter of love. Before you know it you will see things changing for the better.

rgentine Patagonia is for the most part a region of steppe like plains, rising in a succession of 13 abrupt terraces of about 100m at a time. In the hollows of the plains you will find ponds or lakes of fresh and/or brackish water. The Patagonia region encompasses the vast southernmost tip of South America, shared by Argentina and Chile, with the Andes as its dividing line.
The most southern landmark on the coast is Puerto San Juliรกn. It was here that the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan encountered a tall Tehuelche tribesman who he proceeded to name Patagones, which is a mythical character in a tale thus leading to the region being named Patagonia.
