Seriously Fun mascot Wizzo the starfish will be making his first larger than life appearance at this term’s awards ceremony. Wizzo will be trying to keep cool on poolside when he visits the Teikyo School & St. Piran’s School on the last day of term. As there is only one real Wizzo he will do his best to be in two places at once, so don’t be too disappointed if you don’t catch him this time round. Wizzo will be a regular guest at your swimming lessons in the future.

Serious fun in high wycombe Junior holiday courses now at Wycombe Abbey School. As from this August we will be running holiday courses at Wycombe Abbey School in High Wycombe. We are very proud to have negotiated the exclusive hire of Wycombe Abbey’s facilities and look forward to teaching children essential swimming and lifesaving skills at another first class venue. The prestigious school for girls celebrated the opening of it’s brand new 25M six lane swimming pool and sports complex in January 2004. Sir Steve Redgrave, the guest of honour, opened the new £8M building saying that this is one of the best sports and fitness facilities that he had ever seen at a school. The first 5 day holiday course will run from Monday 14th to Friday 18th August with further courses to follow.

On the penultimate lesson of every term all children take part in a Water Safety Lesson. Children are reminded about the dangers of water and are asked to remember the water safety code, a water specific set of rules similar to the green cross code for pedestrians. We have been running the water safety lessons every term for over 10 years now and we want to make parents aware of what is contained in the lessons. If parents can ask their children what they have learnt it will help them to remember it at a time when they may need it most.
