Soror Evelyn Millender’s Take-Aways From Boule’ 2016
My 67th Boule was absolutely amazing, and needless to say a breathtaking experience. I am so grateful to have been allowed the opportunity to be a part of Boule 2016. I brought so much back with me, I just can't tell it all; so being brief: Take aways...*A feeling of reassurance that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is the most powerful association of black women in history. *A stronger feeling of sisterhood, and a stronger knowledge of "we help each other for there is no other." The feeling that I had within my spirit, I cannot put in to words. I was in total awe during the entire conference. *Integrity is important; integrity is necessary. *I have a greater respect for our young, undergraduate Sorors. An undergraduate Soror granted a random act of kindness to me that I will never forget. Cannot remember her name, but "thank you Soror." They are our future; they are our legacy. *I always come away from a conference with a feeling of rejuvenation. And this one was no exception. *I also wish to thank TZO for affording me the opportunity to represent us as a delegate. Had no idea it would be so profound; an experience for the history book.

This Boule was special because I got to celebrate 25 years with my line sisters! It was great to reconnect! It was also wonderful to see the pink and green sea of over 20,000 sorors. It was a truly magical experience!
Soror Inez DeShields’ Take-Aways From Boule’ 2016
Sorors, I had the pleasure of attending two workshops: #1- AKA BOULE' 2016 Workshop - Resolving Conflict: "Don't Let your Pink Turn Red" Conflict is inevitable ...But, combat is optional. Have you ever been so upset with a Soror that you could scream? Song: You're gonna hear me roar!!! A Scream vs a Roar. Not like a "Little girl" but like a "Lion". ROAR—Recognize your emotions, Own your emotions, Act in a sisterly manner, Resolve Informal Survey— 1- No conflict, 2-Chapter conflict, 3-Conflict among groups within chapter, 4-Conflict with a soror(s) These two words contain the same letters, just in a different order: SILENT—LISTEN

Soror Anika Morgan’s Take-Aways From Boule’ 2016 Boule 2016 just like any other event was a wonderful experience. There were so many takeaways, I can't pick out just one. I attend two wonderful workshops. The first workshop talked about social media, the do’s and the don'ts on what to post from a chapter standpoint and person. I learned how
to operate social media outlets especially for small businesses. The second workshop was specifically geared towards health and fitness. It talked about how to diet effectively. This is something I have been struggling with for a while. The panel of experts provided informative information and created a FB group to help sorors along the journey.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., 67th Boule
Launching New Dimensions of Service “Celebrating a Legacy of Sisterhood and Worldwide Impact”
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., 67th Boule was my first Boule and it was a tremendous and exhilarating experience. Days filled with white, pink, and green filled the Georgia World Convention Center and the city of Atlanta, Ga. Everyday offered me an opportunity to engage in informative sisterhood activities, forums, and service projects. Who can forget the 23 Moments of
Service! I participated with my mother (Soror Dianne Nunnery-Alsgood) in Moment of Service Project #8) Stop Hunger Now Meal Packaging. The spirited Think HBCU College Expo gave college prep information to students. The Inaugural Sisterhood Luncheon amplified the Theta Zeta Omega theme of “Nurturing Our Ivy with Tenacity and Zeal.”

Sisterly relations was of high importance at the Boule! My favorite workshop was “Just like a Sista!” The Strolling /Line Dancing workshop was fun and energizing; “I am AKA, Alpha Kappa Alpha!” The formal banquet and celebration concert was a sisterly relations extravaganza.

Boule 2016 was significant and special to me because it was my first one. The ladies in pink and green showed up and showed out! There was so much love, support, bonding, and sisterhood displayed throughout the city of Atlanta! I am ecstatic about the next one!

Unbeknownst to most of you, this was my first time attending Boule’! Yep, you read correctly, my FIRST time. Words cannot adequately express my experience, but I will try. It was momentous, sisterly, eventful, intellectually stimulating, and a little overwhelming. The two things that stood out for me was the sisterliness and service. From the moment I arrived on Friday, everyone was sooo sisterly. I had a chance to
meet and work with so many resplendent Sorors from different chapters and regions. At the Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony, I sat next to a Soror from the South Atlantic Region, who saved me a seat every time after that, without me asking! At the third plenary session I had the pleasure of sitting next to a Golden Soror, who happened to be a former South Central Regional Director. Listening to the stories about her administration and 50+ year dedication to Alpha Kappa Alpha was inspiring. I was able to meet and work with the Huntsville Anti-Basileus at the Africare Booth and connect with my Xavier alum at the ThinkHBCU Moment of Serve Pep Rally. While working the Africare booth, I took a moment to do CPR with
Madame Supreme. But do you know who I was most ecstatic to see? My TZO Sorors! I was filled with pink pride to bursting when I saw the number of TZO Sorors who attended! It was wonderful laughing and sharing special moments with each of you. I will remember the moments for a lifetime, and if I cannot, I will have the beautiful pictures to remind me. It is with green gratitude that I thank you for affording me the opportunity to serve as a delegate. I learned so much at the workshops and service projects. And thank you Theta Zeta Omega for affording me the opportunity to serve as your Chapter Basileus! I love each of you As Is!
