Once each container is finally prepared on shed, certain safety measures have to be taken for transport to project site. Firstly, some temporary steel supports will be attached on those places where holes made on shed are larger than usual. Plywood boards are screwed to the container structure so holes are covered and water entry is avoided. E1 DESCRIPTIVE REPORT 1 Location data Location: The project is situated on the Port of the city of Alicante, taking part of the event of Volvo Ocean Race, which this city holds. The port is located right near the city center and can be easily approached from the airport following N-332 road. The city of Alicante is located in the middle-east of the province of Alicante, next to the coastline and separated by 80 Km from Murcia and 170 Km from Valencia. Plot: The Race Village takes 40.000 sqm of the whole surface of the port of Alicante, being 284.38 sqm aimed for the pavilion. Surface: The surface found on the project site is presented almost completely flat, so any relevant problem with levelling is expected to come up. 2 Agents Promoter: Volvo Ocean Race Builder: Hometainer (in association with ECISA) Architects: Carlos Bonilla Enseñat, Ángel Gambín Gómez and Rocio Gómez Gómez 3 Building description Program: The program itself responds to the Volvo Ocean Race and the City of Alicante demands for building a representative pavilion which will be temporarily installed on each port taking part of the Volvo Ocean Race event. The specific program for our pavillion is the following: -Visitors hall and information point -Exhibition area linked to VOR museum -Conference and projection area linked to the city of Alicante -Toilets and service area -Merchandising shop -Bar -Hospitality area Design: The design of the building is thought to be easily assembled and dismantled in a few days so that it fits the timing conditions of transportation from one port to another. It uses reused shipping containers previously cut on shed and prepared to hold people inside. The existing container structure remains visible in an intention for reflecting the maritime aspect and making a more economical design. The designs looks for an efficient pavilion, integrating solar panels on it as a way of self-supply. Solar panels are placed looking at several directions, making the most of climate conditions on every port. An independent structural element is used on the building to solve a 6 m cantilever holding the conference room.

People attendance: The attendance is expected to be high as it will be the main pavilion of a worldwide event.

E2 CONSTRUCTIVE REPORT 1 Building support Foundation: Surface is completely flat as the area is aimed for these and other kind of events. Given this, the pavilion can be supported by itself, using the container structure, but we will be using adjustable steel plates to equal the height gap created by the cantilever structural element. These steel plates will also be useful in case we find any gradient in any of the ports in which the building will be assembled. Structure: The building uses several structural elements in order to solve singular points where the container original structure cannot work properly. To solve the 6 m cantilever located on the first floor, HEB steel sections are assembled to support the upper container. Besides, steel tubular sections are used to reinforce the stairs gap and also reused corrugated steel strips are welded as reinforcement of the large cuts made on shed. The large exterior staircase can be well supported attaching steel section to the container structure. The remaining elements are self-supported thanks to the inertia of the corrugated steel and tubular sections of the original module. 2 Enclosure The building enclosure consists of corrugated steel with ceramic paint that provides sun protection. On the corrugated steel, Polyurethane foam is sprayed, giving thermal insulation to the building. 3 Partitioning Interior partitions in the building are solved using gypsum plasterboards on both sides, attached to aluminium channels and holding the thermal insulation in between. 4 Finishing All finishing is made of gypsum plasterboard with a layer of paint on them in the interior. Exterior finishing is made of corrugated steel and ceramic paint as said previously. 5 Facilities and equipment Water supply and drainage: PVC pipes are used for water supply and connected to the closest water network. PVC pipes will also be used for water drainage and sanitation. Electricity supply: Electricity supply will be done by connection to port network and using copper wires. Solar panels are used for backup supply.

It is placed on site, over the existing wood container floor. The comfort sheet is rolling on the floor and then the composite is fitted one to another.

It is placed in a system of wood strips. The pieces are joined by a system clips which is hidden after assemble. Requires a minimum knowledge regarding the installation and tools for cutting and fixing.

Steel plate with anti-slip treatment

Dimensions: 372x22 cm

It will not be admitted pieces with the slightest variation of size or surface imperfections.

Screwed to steel stairs profiles.

Stainless steel railing

Tensile strength up to a maximum load of 250kg.

It is screwed in the container structure, previously drawing the place carefully. It will have a neoprene sheet to assure the waterproofing.

Warping and imperfections in the conformations of the profiles. Supply of parts with different sizes and thicknesses below. Delivery without documented proof of compliance with their technical characteristics.

It will be welded on shed over the corrugated steel.

Corrugate steel to reinforce the container.

Dimensions: 20cmx the container length

It will not be admitted rusted pieces. They have to maintain their corrugated form. They will have the dimensions calculated previously.

Reuse the corrugate steal cut previously to reinforce the container hole. It will be welded on shed.

E 3.3 SPECIFICATIONS ABOUT THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT UNITS + DESCRIPTION OF SINGULAR CONSTRUCTION PROCESSES

2 CTE DB HS Basic request HS 1: Damp protection

Firstly, each component of the building with be separately treated on shed, making the certain cuts specified on the plans so the spaces defined on the project are obtained when put together. After these cuts made, the container structure will be reinforced on those places specified on the project documentation. After that, wooden and steel channels are welded to the corrugated steel and polyurethane foam is sprayed onto them providing thermal insulation and avoiding any thermal bridge. Gypsum plasterboards are well attached to the previously welded strips, prepared to bear transportation and assembly and dismantle of components. Finally, window frames are installed on each component and also interior partitions and doors, also well prepared to be transported and support movements.

Entrance of water or appearance of damp on the building and its enclosures as a consequence of rainwater, water from soil or condensations, having means that avoid its penetration or allow its evacuation without producing damages.

For transport, certain reinforcement is needed like temporary steel supports on those holes which are larger than usual and cannot be supported by themselves. For safety, wooden boards will be screwed to the container holes during transport.

Basic request HS 4: Water supply

During transport, the truck will take the straightest way, avoiding close turns and narrow lanes and containers will be attached to the vehicle preventing movements and possible damages. Steel beams and profiles for stairs, flooring, facilities-related equipment and furniture will be carried separately from their certain manufacture also avoiding risks or movements.

The building has the proper means to supply water prepared for consumption to the hygienic equipment, providing enough flow for its functioning, without alteration of the properties for consumption and avoiding possible returnings that can contaminate the network, incorporating means that permit saving and controlling water. Hot water production equipment are provided with accumulation systems and use points have the characteristics that avoid the growth of pathogenic germs.

Once on site, all the corners where the containers will be will be highlighted and the structure of the cantilever consisting of HEB sections will be carefully assembled using screws, avoiding any damage to the different parts as it will have to be usable on all ports. Containers will be stacked using forklifts for ground floor and crane-truck for higher floors. Joints between containers will be solved using steel plates and neoprene, providing waterproofing at all times. Stairs and handrailing will be installed carefully preventing damages in any piece. The same conditions apply to furniture, glazing and flooring. For solar panels and facilities equipment, the condition of being properly installed so that systems work is added.

E4 CTE COMPLIANCE 1 CTE DB HE Basic request HE 1: Energetic demand limitation The building has an enclosure with certain characteristics that limit properly the energetic demand needed to reach thermal comfort according to local climates, building use and summer and winter regime, and also because of its characteristics of insulation and inertia, wind permeability and sun exposure, reducing the risk of damp and condensation that can damage its characteristics and treating properly thermal bridges to limit the losses or gains of heat and avoid problems with thermal comfort.

Basic request HS 2: Collection and evacuation of waste The building has areas and means to extract ordinary waste generated on them accordingly with the public collection system so that it facilitates the adequate separation of the waste, the selective collection of them and its later management.

Basic request HS 5: Water evacuation The building has the proper means to extract the waste water generated on them independently o together with atmospheric precipitations and soil water. 3 CTE DB SE Basic request SE 1: Resistivity and stability Resistivity and stability will be the adequate so they do not generate inappropriate risks, so resistivity and stability remains opposite actions during construction phase and expected building uses, and that an extraordinary event does not produce consequences regarding the original cause and facilitates the expected maintenance. Basic request SE 2: Ability for service The ability for service will be according with the expected building use so impermissible deformations are not produced, probability of impermissible dynamic behaviour is limited and impermissible deterioration is not produced.

Basic request HE 3: Energetic efficiency in lightning facilities The building has proper lightning facilities adjusted to user´s necessities and at the same time energetically efficient having a control system that allows adjusting it to the real occupation of the area and also a regulation system that optimizes natural light on the areas that gather certain conditions. Basic request HE 5: Minimal photovoltaic contribution of electric energy Solar energy catching and transformation systems to electric energy by photovoltaic procedures for self-use or to network supply are incorporated on the building. The derivative values of this basic request will have consideration of minimal without damage of more strict values that can be set by competent administrations and that contribute to sustainability, assisting to the characteristics of its location and territorial scope.
