Description of the Workshops

Fact or Fake?: Distinguishing misinformation and disinformation and evaluating sources of information with a critical eye for false or incomplete information.

Digital EU: Presentation of the eTwinning project “Digital EU - we'll do!", a project coordinated with Heidi Giese, in which we teach gymnasium students media literacy, emphasizing the dangers and consequences of fake news. During the presentation there will be also shared a few examples from the activities as a European Parliament Ambassador School, on raising awareness and educating youngsters on this topic.

Spotting Fake News Workshop: There will be presented the activities that students are encouraged to do, both at school and home, to develop critical thinking and create their own check list to spot fake news.

Responsible Digital Natives- Erasmus+ project: Responsible Digital Natives is Erasmus+ project which started in 2020. with partner schools from Croatia, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Turkey. Through the project pupils will learn how to use the Internet in safe way, how to evaluate online resources, how to be safety online, how to avoid digital addiction and spend their free time outside without devices. Disinformation and history: Propaganda and misinformation have been found in history since ancient times. The presentation wants to highlight the importance of critical analysis of information during classes to prevent false news and promote European values. The eTwinning project M@pping the Milestones pf Free Europe offers ways to analyze information and make comparisons using press articles.

Fact and Fiction in ArmonyLand: When everything around us is so changeable because of the pandemic and misinformation, we create an ArmonyLand where you can live in a harmony. During the project we focus on guessing fake and real media news, be aware and suspicious about media contents, highlight safe websites for kids, protect students from addiction. Thus, cultivate critical thinking and focus on students’ well-being.
