I grew up in the countryside. Slow rhythms, vast horizons, cities absents. In the silence. The city was far away. In high school I decided to explore and to live my first city: Padova. By porches, houses, schools, squares, courtyards, parks, buses, events i discovered the cities life. After high school i moved to my dreamed place: Venice. The city on the water. It’s like a mosaic of the world. And i fell in love with Venezia. I fell in love from the inside, by a court with a well, from the edge of a roof, from the balcony of the fourth floor, from small apartments, acqua alta, fog, from the continuous discovery and rediscovery. Venezia has introduced myself to the world and taught me to travel. From the cultural dynamics of Venice I move to Paris. The metropolis. In Paris I experienced the internationality at 360 degrees. From the window on the horizon to the window on the subway: the green Boulevard, the elevator, the neighbors, the vernissage.
From the countryside to the metropolis: This is my confrontation with architecture the way through i have rediscovered the space and the society dynamics by myself. I still have a lot to explore...

Santiago es Santiago The project ‘factory of the South’ in Paris formed students to reason on an other realities. Goals bestowed for their analytical skills, their means and an average of operations in order to respond in a contextual and relevant to the needs of the twenty first century space. In this case the Atelier work was confronted with the design in Cuba, a country with a social, and political climate very different. Build up in the already built, weaving the city; transpose, incorporate, hybridize types and logical morphologies, densify, diversify, verticalize and extend. Even rethink, re-energize and insert. Build and rebuild the thresholds, transitions, structures and complexity of urbanity teeming daily. We had to reconfiguraize a block on the Avenida Garzon in Santiago de Cuba. We combining urban housing, local structure, activities and services in a uniform strategy.

How to cope with the densification process involving Santiago de Cuba? How to deal with the existing? What relationship should be with the risk of earthquakes and hurricanes which is subject Santiago? The relationship with a territory and a political and social context completely different from ours led us to direct our architectural knowledge in training on issues metropolitan rather than on new applications for cooperation with countries in the developing world. These lead essentially three types of interventions: - Conception of public spaces and urban services quality Urban rehabilitation - The development and restructuring of peri-urban areas. The project addresses the rethinking the Avenida Garzon: the main road connecting the city center with the suburbs. The program of urban design requires a strategy for conser-

vation and regulation of this process. The project team consists of twenty-five students among which were divided the surrounding of the Avenida Garzon. The analysis and study of the area led to the formulation of the first development strategies of the settlement. The Avenida is bounded by Plaza de Marte and Parque Ferreiro double strategic lead one towards the old town and the other towards the periphery. In these two poles are concentrated public infrastructure such as the Hospital, the University, a shopping center and many more. While your sides at Avenida there is a strong presence of small commercial facilities and private homes. Following the last hurricane, Sandy, which struck the city, many of these buildings have suffered structural damage and many of these are in precarious situations. For this reason it was important the work of cataloging and estimate of damage that has been done during the inspection in Santiago de Cuba, which involved a group of nine students. L 窶連telier, which was held in the project area, has been involved in detecting the state of affairs of the area and to
make the design assumptions of recovery and urban development at the local University. During a two-week workshop groups of French and Cubans students have worked together to develop the initial strategies. The results were then presented to the local government. It was developed then during the course of urban planning at the University of ENSA Paris la Villette. My project aims to integrate the existing with a new urban development and spatial. The three parcels I worked are an hinge point between the beginning of the Avenida Garzon, where various services and commercial spaces, and the residential area. The project area overlooking the square that houses the entrance to four high towers: the symbol of the development and progress of the city. The four towers are a symbol and an important meeting place for the city, at their feet held the characteristic carnival, big event for the local community. The large garden square at the foot of the towers is a public place habitable

from across Avenida. Inside of my land I wanted to take up the theme of the ‘patio’ interpreting it in various scales. So I created a first ‘patio’ area surrounding the chemistry laboratory, which in the course of restructuring. The West block where the houses are very dense and with few open spaces has been converted into a green path that leads to the discovery of craft skills. The Est block was dedicated to a path in the art, with the creation of Atelier for artists, a carnival museum and exhibition halls. The philosophy of the project was to create a public patio inside the block that creates a green lung. The surface of the demolished buildings was recovered by increasing the height of the buildings that are developed around the patio.

sustainability The idea of intervention comes from an analysis of the principles of settlement that characterize the historic center and the suburban area of Pitigliano. We decided to create an environment that, through the comparison with the existing one, was able to bring out the beauty of the historic center.
To be able to fully express our idea of comparison we chose the northern area of Pitigliano, which has a direct visual contact with the historical center and it proposes topography and morphology. The project includes housing and a structure for the use and study of Etruscan archaeological sites that are present in the area of Pitigliano.

project establishes a system housing that is spread over different levels connected by a system of stairs. To characterize the project there are green tubs that mediate the transition between the natural surroundings and the residential area. Offering, at the same time, the panoramic views of the old town and the surrounding valley.
The project includes eight accom-
modation units of which two of an area of 45 square meters, four from 80 sqm to 95 sqm and two and a commercial area of 100 square meters. The system housing is developed following the natural shape of the terrain with

The station of Porto Marghera presents itself as a connector system that combines via Torino, which will host the new headquarters of the University Ca ‘Foscari, and Technological Pole and research Vega. Seen the development of these poles, is nearing completion (University Ca ‘Foscari), are necessary new connections saw the largest influx of people.
We have dealt with this issue with in order to create connections to impact 0 so we designed a cycle path connection between: the path (‘station to station’), in the project, which will connect the Mestre station to Porto Marghera and the pedestrian path on the Liberty Bridge. We designed the station as a place where, through devices exchangers, it is possible to change the means of transport in a simple and secure. The users of this space are different from residents commute to Mestre and Marghera, to tourists who want to get to Venice on foot or by bike, which can make it through a pedestrian path continuously and safely. One of our primary goals is the incentive of means of transportzero impact.

Our project area is bounded between the railway line and the lagoon, and this has lead his total isolation. This character has led to the development of natural flora. Biodiversity that has been formed is an extremely interesting, it presents itself as a space cut and stolen urban development; This was however not a negative factor, limiting, indeed, has enhanced the characters more hidden. By inquiring approach and not merely critical we questioned the interpretation of these peculiarities. Analyzing various ways of approaching the place, we decided to enhance the appearance of self generative and chaotic, incorporating us into it by means of the guidelines, they want to frame biodiversity. La stazione di Porto Marghera si presenta come un polo di connessione tra diverse aree: in particolar modo si inserisce tra via Torino e Marghera, con il centro Vega. Questi sistemi necessitano di sempre maggiori collegamenti poichè, grazie alla conclusione dei progetti ora in corso, sempre più persone vi affluiranno. Noi vediamo questo spazio anche in un’altra ottica, ovvero considerandolo come tramite di due percorsi lenti in progetto: il primo è la ciclabile (‘station to station’) che collega la stazione di Mestre a quella di Porto Mar-
ghera, e l’altro il progetto di percorso ciclopedonale di collegamento con Venezia, sul Ponte della Libertà. Abbiamo concepito la stazione come luogo dove, attraverso dispositivi scambiatori, sia possibile cambiare mezzo di trasporto in modo semplice e sicuro. I fruitori di questo spazi sono diversi: i cittadini di Mestre e Marghera potranno raggiungere Venezia mediante un percorso ciclopedonale continuo, in sicurezza. Il nostro obiettivo è di incentivare ed educare all’uso di mezzi di trasporto a impatto zero.

The railway represents a linear environment with homogeneous characteristics for thousands of kilometers, an ecological corridor used by certain plants to colonize Europe. Similarly to the natural flora present in the city (urban flora) that station is composed of a ‘pot-pourri’ of plants from many different origins and life stories. As travelers who meet on the sidewalks of the stations, even the plants that grow between the tracks come from every corner of the planet, and if we stop to listen to them we discover countless different stories.

The project involves the construction of a pedestrian path that connects two projects currently disconnecte. The location is just south of the railway line, in the industrial area of Marghera, and seeks to guide the cyclist along a path that can guarantee his safety, given the danger of the road on which it is located. Our aim is the creation of a new entry in Venice, by the use of means of transport zero impact. As the train half currently free facilities for the cyclists and bicycles, we designed autonomous and functional spaces.

The project Ile Seguin - Rive de Seine includes a total area of 74 hectares; Between 1929 and 1992, the site housed the old headquarters of the Renault factory in Boulogne Bilancourt. After 1990, after the decision to close the factory, the site has undergone a process of cleaning up asbestos. The soil of the Ile Seguin and Rives de Seine, represents 10% of the area of the town of Boulogne-Billancourt. The echo area is located to the south, bordered by the Seine near the island of Seguin. This district consists of macro blocks that compose the area of the trapezoid. In the initial project was the desire to create a part of the city, with the services of a strategic place, which is inscribed in the spirit of a <recycling urban>. The University ENSA Paris la Villette has proposed a workshop to study the dynamics that have created an eco-district already formed. Our main contribution was made by the analysis of the neighborhood from the interviews of the inhabitants, to the relief of the main problems of management and communication and strengthening of all the factors that had not yet been taken into account. Designing within a dynamic already well structured was useful to understand concretely the potential, the flaws and inefficiencies of an eco-district.

The object of the course was the creation of a productive cultural park in the north of the island of Murano, in the Sacca San Mattia. This is an area of 31 hectares that currently has a specific use and is used as a dumping of building materials or waste glass processing. Tthe Laguna is understood as urban system recovering a landscape capable of combining global interests and local needs in a new setting, away from the image of Venezia as a place of tourist crowds. The work done has had to take into account the peculiarities of design of such a vast area, apparently without distinguishing features but with different potential and differentiated.

“Contrast”, seen as the marked difference of perspective and spatial perception that exists between the tablets and sinuous streets of Murano and Venice and the great esplanade of the bag that releases a broad overview to the Lagoon and the distant horizon of the mainland. Starting from the idea that “contrast” indicates a point of reference for all strategies and planning future operations, students, organized groups, have planned a Masterplan and have developed various projects in detail and responded to interventions.

can people actract people? The design work intensively, in just three weeks, a ‘wide area Porto Marghera resulted in one big group. I and my group we dealt with the communicative and expressive project. We kept a daily diary of developments, we have produced the short film for each day of work and finally we dealt dell’allestimento exposure final, collecting, organizing all jobs in a plastic general, in a video. My group was charged of the promotion of the project. For this reason we have organized an event ‘Aperitif en Blanc’ in our project area, in Porto Marghera which aimed to bring the life of an abandoned territory. On the occasion of this evening we invited all students and professors of IUAV, local governments and residents of Marghera.
About two hundred people, dressed in white, came together at Porto Marghera, a summer evening, with the desire to bring a bit ‘of life among abandoned industrial monuments. White as a symbol of life, each with its own picnic and the evening of candles and starlets have shed fresh light this space extremely artificial but so empty at night. Among the major industries a small housing complex was in front of us, during the evening, attracted by the music, have left some residents including mothers, children who have joined us. The question we asked ourselves during the organization of the event was: ‘Can people attract people?’ Yes. Apéritif en Blanc.
Sono arrivati al tramonto, all’ora dell’aperitivo, tutti vestiti di bianco. Nell’insolita cornice di Porto Marghera, spritz alla mano, erano quasi 200 alla fine della serata i ragazzi dello IUAV che hanno organizzato il loro primo –Aperitif en Blanc-. Una particolare iniziativa, un flashmob per attirare l’attenzione dei cittadini e far riflettere sugli spazi urbani inutilizzati. L’obbiettivo: quello di mostrare come anche una banchina industriale possa essere vista con nuove prospettive e diventare spazio fruibile da tutti. L’iniziativa si inserisce all’interno di un workshop che gli studenti dei primi tre anni dell’università di architettura di Venezia, insieme ai loro docenti, orga-
nizzano ogni estate. Quest’anno il tema, filo conduttore di laboratori e iniziative, è Porto Marghera. Venerdì sera proprio uno dei sei gruppi di lavoro della facoltà, coordinato da uno studio di architettura e design di Johannesburg, ha animato l’evento:-Il nostro-ha spiegato Sean Mahoney, uno degli architetti sudafricani e promotore dell’iniziativa-vuole essere un modo per sensibilizzare e per offrire possibili scenari urbani alternativi, dove la riqualificazione non significhi l’-atterraggiodi un edificio indifferente al contesto, come sarebbe stata la torre Cardin, ma piuttosto il contrario: è la valorizzazione del contesto e delle sue peculiarità a rappresentare la chiave di un processo di rigenerazione. Basti pensare tra i tanti esempi che potrei citare, all’intervento che abbiamo fatto sulla
zona portuale di Cape Town, dove proprio un’area industriale dismessa è diventata un grande centro pubblico e di vita sociale-. Ragazzi entusiasti e determitati a portare avanti la loro idea di una città arricchita da nuovi spazi pubblici di aggregazione, confronto e dibattito. E tutto questo, possibilmente a partire dalle dismesse aree industriali. –La vittoria di questa iniziativa – spiega Damiana, studentessa IUAV presente all’incontro- è stata vedere i bambini che vivono in quest’area avvicinarsi, giocare con il pallone in strada come hanno fatto gli studenti e, arrivato il buio accendere con tutti noi delle – stelline- e delle lanterne: un gesto simbolico, per guardare con una luce diversa il futuro di Porto Marghera-.

For one hundred years, human activity in the area of Porto Marghera has tried to subdue the landscape to shape it to their needs, in this case to enable it to colonize and industrial functions: define and make visible the borders, consolidate and stabilize the soil, build a landscape solid infrastructure of cement, networks and industrial buildings. The goal, in the course of these hundred years, has been to assign this land for the construction of industrial autonomous enclaves, with fixed boundaries and defined, the ecosystem has been transformed and contaminated; in this place the memory of the original landscape, diffuse and permeable boundaries, no longer exists. We dissolved the geometry of the rigid boundaries to bring the lagoon landscape within the Marghera.

Dissolve Porto Marghera? Years of chemical pollution of soil and water, the violence in a man-made lagoon area fragile and delicate. Our project is part of a continuous temporality, slow and subtle. Takes the water, the islands and the eco-system in the lagoon surface sealed by industrial dynamics. We can draw a system, a first crack, a slow time then you will synchronize with a subtle metamorphosis. archeology - architecture My work experience is part of the educational IUAV. I attended a Summer School in collaboration with the University of Verona, which was held in Grumento (PO). Experience that is part of a research project â&#x20AC;&#x153;Systems of relief and three-dimensional modeling for architecture and archeology. Integration of laser scanning and photogrammetric techniques to create 3D models multiscale mapped â&#x20AC;&#x153;, is part of the experimental activities that have the primary purpose of defining the protocols and specific relief and modeling, experimenting with the latest tools in field of the documentation of the shape and color of the forms of representation and studying alternative or complementary to the traditional ones.

The complexity and richness of archaeological sites is a need to detect the position of the artifacts within an urban area, to detect every single building (relief of architectural emerging) and also detect any fragment that was found (scan of the details). The scan thus becomes not only the study of cities and architecture, but also a â&#x20AC;&#x153;containerâ&#x20AC;? multiscale for cataloging emergencies, in its instrumental use to archaeological disciplines.

Per predisporre un apparato conoscitivo appropriato, si ricorre all’uso integrato di laser scanner 3D, tecniche di fotogrammetria digitale ed gps, al fine di ottenere un modello computerizzato tridimensionale. Tramite l’utilizzo del laser scanner è stato creato un sistema geo referenziato basato su una serie di nuvole di punti che attraverso software di elaborazione grafica rigenera la tridimensionalità delle superfici prese in considerazione. Un risultato similare, anche se meno preciso, l’abbiamo ottenuto grazie le tecniche fotogrammetriche, l’elaborazione di una sequenza di immagini aeree (grazie all’utilizzo di un drone) e di sequenze di immagini di terra. L’unione di queste foto tramite il software Photoscan di Agisoft ci ha permesso di ottenere delle nuvole di punti per la creazione del modello tridimensionale. La generazione poi di immagini ad alta qualità, sezioni del modello stesso sono state effettuate con il software Pointools.

The cloister Santo Stefano, now used as headquarters of the Revenue, was previously the cloister of a convent; is located adjacent to the ruins of another primitive cloister and the famous St. Stephenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Cathedral stands on the field, in the San Marco district. The church was built by the Hermits of St. Augustine in the thirteenth century (although the Sansovino will hand that the building dates back to a previous year, 1325), and underwent numerous tampering with the passage of time: it was totally rebuilt in the fourteenth century and remodeled adapted to the flamboyant Gothic style in the Venetian â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;400, restored to its original and restored at the beginning of theâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; 900, following the great fire of 1529.

The impression of the color of the city. My photos are investigating the relationship between human movement and stillness of the city. The walls that my character touches are static, but corroded by time. The pastel colors will neutralize the expressiveness. My protagonist instead, with its bright colors and its fast movements plays with that space and will dance together. Just like parkour proposes alternative ways of paths so my photos offer a dance between colors and between movements. Life fades on the canvas of a static 窶話uilding static, like brush strokes on a canvas of my character tells a story.
