Urban Analysis_Abstraction of Space_Representation ABSTRACTION ABSTRACTION is a process by which higher concepts are derived from the usage and classification of literal concepts, first principles, or other methods. AN ABSTRACTION is the product of this process. ABSTRACTIONS may be formed by reducing the information content of a concept or an observable phenomenon, typically to retain only information which is relevant for a particular purpose. It is an elementary tool in life and thinking in abstractions is considered to be one of the key traits in modern human behaviour, which is believed to have developed between 50,000 and 100,000 years ago.
Analysis is not an end in itself, it explains what has been understood. The application of the analysed is the second step and verifies the result. The analysis of the existing is a requirement for the own work. Analysis means resolving into elements and similar phenomena seen and understood. Analysis means abstraction.
