NET POSITIVE HOME
from Portfolio 2025
The spring 2022 Net Positive Studio collaborated as a member of the Workforce Solar Housing Partnership, which included Manhattan area Habitat for Humanity, Manhattan Area Technical College, Flint Hills Job Corp, Flint Hills Renewable Energy and Efficiency Cooperative, and the Fort Riley Home Builders Institute. This project is sited in Ogden Kansas, on the corner of S. Elm and 14th street, neighboring an Ogden Elementary school. To the west of this house, a mirrored structure will be built in the near future, along with a house to the immediate north. The homes are designed to face each other to facilitate open space for a pocket neighborhood. With the public and private bar scheme, the users have opportunity to inhabit the spaces in between, which in turn connects them to nature by association with the landscape and architectural elements that allow for net positive energy return on the home.
