Who Are You? By Tarishan Esters Many years ago, If you would have asked me the question “Who are you?” I would have answered; I am Tarishan Winder-Esters, the wife of Dwayne Esters, the daughter of Michael Johnson and the mother of Zhanee, Jaquesha and KaBreisha. But today, if you were to ask me that same question I would tell you that I am a child of the most high God, joint-heir with Christ, and a friend of God. I believe as Christians, many of us are ignorant of our identity. Yes, we know who our paternal parents are and who our forefathers are but how many of us truly know who we are in Christ. David wrote in Psalm 139:14 “We are fearfully and wonderfully made.” You didn't come from an ape nor was there an unexplainable explosion and the end result was your existence. The same God that spoke heaven and earth into existence created you. Genesis declares that everything that God made was good. Not only did God create you but he gave you gifts and talents to help define who you are. “Every good and perfect gift comes from above.” Did you know that: we are citizens of another kingdom, we are his workmanship created by Christ Jesus unto good works which he foreordained that we are to walk in, we are his people, the sheep of his pasture, and we are descendants of Abraham. Having made such a vivid point, I challenge you to explore your real ancestry and heritage. When you know where you come from, you will know who you are and where you are headed. Who are you? When we truly analyze our ancestry we will find that we are kingdom people, with kingdom blood, with kingdom purpose and with kingdom power. I have never known a King who didn’t walk in his authority or a Queen who didn’t accept her crown. When we are aware of who we are, then we should be able apply kingdom principals. They enemy has no authority over you. Jesus left us the authority to us, his disciples; Luke 10:19....“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you. This profound statement can attest to our authority. Therefore you can tell the enemy that he has no authority over you. That he has no right to invade your home, your marriage, your family, your job, your health, and your finances. In actuality, he is trespassing and with the authority that has been given to you, you can declare to him that he and his imps are trespassers and trespassers’ will be prosecuted! Miracles, signs and wonders……Miracles, signs and wonders. The book of Acts details the power of the New Testament believers when exercised in the authority of Jesus Christ. I entreat you to explore the dynamics of the many miracles, signs and wonders that followed these apostles. They operated in the “greater works” that the Messiah spoke of. So I ask you the question again………………Who Are You?
