Safe in His Arms By Earlean Johnson A song writer once wrote a song that says the “Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need”, and furthers says that “I’m safe in his arms.” After facing a recent test, I learned that whatever the enemy tries to bring my way, I’m safe in the arms of God. Let’s take a walk down your memory lane to help you remember how God has kept you safe in His arms, and what we need to do to stay close to Him to remain safe in His loving arms. Years ago God saw fit to bring another man or woman of God into the world to speak His word to many and few. Upon your arrival God gave you a temporary past to this world where He assured you that no matter what you may go through, He’s always there. He promises you if you keep His commandments, your temporary past will become a permanent past in paradise. Psalms 121:3-4 tells us that God will not let your foot slip, He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. We must realize that God is a just God, the same love He had for our brothers and sisters during the bible days, He has for us now and He still has the same power today He had yesterday, He changes not! What an awesome God we serve. Now you’ve had the opportunity to think about your calling since birth, and how God watched over you, think about that first heart break. Some if not all has had the experience of giving their heart to the wrong man and woman that God did not approve, however, the flesh was left in pain from all the tears and heartaches you experienced throughout the relationship. Even during that trial, God was right there wiping every tear that fell, repairing your heart for what He has created for you, assuring you that “never will I leave you, never will I forsake you” (Hebrew 13:5), giving us the confidence to know that “the Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid, what can man do to me” (Hebrew 13:6). As we further on down memory lane, we think about sicknesses the enemy tried to inflict on us or our loved ones. Many times, in the bible, people came to Jesus to be healed, and He said by your faith you are healed. This means, all we have to do is trust and believe in God and know that regardless of what the doctors have said, by our faith we are healed. Don’t let the enemy tell you that you have terminal cancer, clogged arteries in your heart, or that pain in your body is a disease you cannot pronounce. God already knew of the evil tricks the enemy would use against us, so He left us instruction for these cases and that is “Submit yourself to God and resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7). After all the trials we have faced throughout our lives, one thing we should have learned by now, and that’s we are safe in the arms of God. Remember that every time you are going through a trial doesn’t mean you are reaping what you have sown, the enemy knows who we are, and he’s out to seek and destroy. The enemy doesn’t want us to walk in the anointing of God, he don’t want us to accept our calling so he will often throw stones before us as an attempt to discourage us. Just remember that God is right there, and Luke 10 reminds us that the enemy cannot do us any harm. A Pastor once stated that we fight the enemy in our mind, that our mind is the battle ground, and it’s where we often fight our flesh and temptation of living like the world or following God. If the enemy can corrupt your mind, then he’s making progress. Rebuke the enemy in advance, continue to stay in prayer and trust God and know that his word is true, and will never change. Stay in the arms of God, because in His arms is where you are safe. Be blessed.
