Composed between 2004 and 2006. The first half of the work was written as part of my assignment for the composition workshop at the National Conservatory of Music, the rest was completed after finishing my music studies. It is based on a very large sumerian text known by the same name, from which I took specific portions that were adapted in a sequence of arias, choruses and instrumental interludes. A narrator intervenes three times in order to explain the plot and present a translation of the text which will be then sung in a transliteration from the cuneiform version made by the Oriental Institute at the University of Oxford and published at the Electronic Text Corpus of Sumerian Literature (http://etcsl.orinst.ox.ac.uk/)
