P REAMBLE

I am a registered Architect with 5 years’ experience in the Australian Architecture industry and currently working as Project Architect in MODE Design and have been working on an array of projects as Team Leader; reporting to the principals and the directors. My current projects include the development of schematic and the tender package of a new public school (core 35) at Marsden Park in a team of 15 liaising with consultants from 15 disciplines and the Department of Education directly, leading the construction phase including site inspection meetings following design development and contract documentation phase of a project that received a Land and Environmental court approval for a senior housing development adjacent to a heritage listed item at Burraneer, CDC and DA documentation for consolidation of two adjacent terraced houses into one single dwelling in Woollahra, Section96 for a house in Lawson Avenue, yielding studies for boarding houses located within the City of Sydney area, and DA application for subdivision masterplan including detailed house type plans in Dubbo. At MODE, my responsibilities have included manage the design and development of the projects from conception to completion including options assessment, concept design, approval application, contract, construction and detailed design documentation. In addition, preparation of briefs, coordinate with external consultants as well as internal staffs, stakeholders and clients ensuring quality control of project documentation and communications; and, execute and oversee financial management of projects, monitor reports, invoicing, revenue projections etc.; excelling in architectural design solutions, construction detailing, documentation and meeting clients’ vision. After working as fulltime tutor for 1.5 years, at Department of Architecture in University of Asia Pacific, Dhaka, Bangladesh and with some training in the profession overseas, I came to Australia for my master’s degree at New South Wales (UNSW). I was employed in Scott Carver Architects as Student in May 2014 and have been fortunate to take the responsibility for the design development and construction phase of North Kellyville Square as Project 2IC, after finishing my degree. It provided me the opportunity to manage clients, consultants and documentation followed by managing the Development Application and design development phase of Retail Redevelopment in Campbelltown and some other opportunities producing D&C tender documentation for a few projects in teams including Harold Park (Residential), Kogarah RSL Club (Mixed-use) and Rosenthal Carpark Avenue (Public project by council). These works involved guiding the architectural students and recent graduates; checking both written and drawn documents. I have completed my Bachelor in Architecture with distinction from the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, India followed by Master of Architecture degree from University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia in 2015 and received Vandana Gold Medal, SPA Gold Medal and General Proficiency Prize, awarded to the student who is a high achiever, has the best thesis performance and is the best student in academia.

Market: Retail + Public | GBA 30,000 sqm incl. 650 carparks | Tender & Construction | Cost: 65M Supervising Architect: Robert Sanderson [NSW 5150] [Scott Carver] Project Status: Under construction Project Description: Design and construct documentation for a new Public Domain and retail development for Lane Cove Council with 30,000 sqm area including 650 carparks over four levels on a 7127sqm site. The project includes two major supermarket (COLES and ALDI) and a few small tenancies on the park level. Construction principally concrete framed, with piling walls retaining the large excavation. The building is enclosed with non-load bearing masonry infill and perimeter walls. Wall along the laneways includes brick facades and timber finishes. The major wall to the residential areas is a “naturalistic” stone wall. Project Role: Senior Graduate [Documentation Team Member] Level of Responsibility: Documentation, design input, ensuring design addresses accessibility standards, National Construction Code (NCC), Section J and JV3 Energy Modelling Report; contributing to the BIM Revit model in team. Woolworths | Cost 25M Supervising Architect: Robert Sanderson [NSW 5150] [Scott Carver] Project Status: Project completed in July 2017 Project Description: Design development and documentation of a retail project in North Kellyville. The project included a new retail center, 26 Commercial and Specialty retail tenancies; new Town Square and on ground and basement parking. The project included a new road, and reconfiguring its’ levels to infill retail under; and provide the new Town Square for the residents of North Kellyville. It has created a new urban mix and direction for North Kellyville, providing new development around the shopping Centre. Construction is steel and concrete framed, precast concrete perimeter walls. Retail level includes stone facades, fibre cement and timber finishes. Project Role: 2IC Level of Responsibility: North Kellyville Square represented a significant leap in responsibilities and roles primarily because only two people were working on the project, me and the Project Leader; also, due to the sheer scale of the project and number of stakeholders. My role was to manage the project after design development through construction documentation and construction advice, as project 2IC, continuously liaising directly with project managers, sub-consultants, builders to provide decisions on design and project parameter. Co-ordinating architectural and consultants’ documentations for consistency with the detailed design intent and with quality, cost and time parameters. Also, inspecting construction work in progress and meeting sub-contractors and engineers weekly on site, initially supervised by the Project Leader, later on my own; moreover, to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and quality standards. The role also included guidance to the client on establishing Retail Management programs and manuals for leasing purposes; followed by post construction defects inspection.

Construction is concrete framed with masonry external walls, stud partitions internally and concrete slab as roof with residential component above.
