Heroes Among Us
Meet some of our local First Responder’s here each month. We are truly blessed in our community to have professional policemen, sheriff’s deputies, medical personnel and fire fighters to respond to life’s emergencies. These are great people known for their willingness to help friends and strangers during threatening circumstances. When everyone else runs out of the burning building, firemen run in. We hope you’ll enjoy learning more about them here and never have the occasion to need their professional services! - editor
“The community supports us,” says Bryan Borgialli, Battalion Chief assigned to training for the Campbell County Fire Department (CCFD), “...we’re here to do what we can in time of need.” Chief Borgialli is a Gillette native who’s spent 22 years of his life protecting Campbell County from fires and other dangers, starting with the CCFD in 1998 as a cadet. Of those early years, Chief Borgialli says: “I didn’t really know what I wanted to do when I grew up. The cadet program was really active and engaged—I got into that. Turned
out to be something I really liked. I went to college for it, and was fortunate enough to get hired; it’s been all I’ve known.” From cadet training, he became a volunteer firefighter between 2002 and 2003 before making his way to a full-time position with the CCFD. Ten years later, Borgialli was promoted to Captain, and continued his track record of excellence through 2019, when he was promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief in October of that year. During his journey he graduated from the National Fire Academies Managing Officer

Program, and has the distinction of being one of the first firefighters from Wyoming to complete such training. Battalion Chief Borgialli has fulfilled many rolls within the CCFD, and has even been involved in some of the unexpected challenges now facing the community owing to the COVID-19 outbreak. Training through a phase of social distancing has brought “...new challenges and hurdles,” Bryan points out, “It’s taken us out of the classroom setting. We’ve really had to use new technology and remote learning tech to
fulfill training needs.” Thankfully, Bryan comes to the table with plenty of experience, already having been responsible for the training of all new organization members. It’s a six-month process, and requires a steady, experienced hand. Thank you, Battalion Chief Bryan Borgialli, for keeping us safe when things are peaceful, adapting to new crises as they come, and staying up-to-date on the latest procedures and techniques in firefighting. It’s a tough job, somebody’s got to do it, and you do it well.
