1.1 rupa publications The objective was to design a bold and colourful catalogue for July to December, 2013 session. The publication house wanted to present a fresh and experimental book concept, while following certain basic constraints and sensibilities. The challenge was to stray from the old catalogue layout, bring about an evident change, while following the strict technical guidelines from the editing department. ‘Experiment, but do not experiment too much, or you will intimidate the buyers’, was the brief in a nutshell.

1.2 amayra The objective was to stray from the conventional styles of jewellery catalogues

and create a visual story narrating the brand’s sensibility, in the form of a collectible book. Each unique artwork is an amalgamation of various individual elements, representing the mood of the corresponding photograph. Portraying the thought behind each singular piece of jewellery, the book is a contemporary portrayal of elegance and history.

2.3 oxfam india The brief was to design a logo for Close the Gap, a campaign by Oxfam India, which aims to fight the various inequalities in our society. The campaign will speak against the inequalities based on class, religion, colour, wealth, and so on. The winning logo would become the symbol for the campaign, and the entire nation. This logo was my entry for the competition.

3.1 anniversary invite An elegant and classy invite, with attention to details, was designed for the 50th wedding anniversary of a couple from New Delhi. The use of rich textured paper rendered grace and richness, while strategically placed slits held the ribbon in place, creating a clean, hassle free style.

3.2 wedding invite An elegant save the date invite was to be designed for the wedding of a young girl from Ajmer. Accomodating the client’s sensibilities; her firm roots in tradition, her quiet, mature nature, and her love for flowers; the card brings together some charming poise as well as a pinch of merriment, taking inspiration from old hollywood movie tickets .

4.1 signage artworks This perpetual personal project presents the conventional, and sometimes unconventional signage, with a fresh twist. My evergreen love for tessellations is well satiated within these artworks. While individual elements create unusual tessellations which build the background, a cheerful and bright play of colours happily conveys the message.

4.2 lost in time While working on the Amayra catalogue, many concepts were thought of, and rejected. Here are some which made it to the archives, nevertheless. The idea behind some of these designs was to present facts, trivia and some general information about the company in different ways on each page, making the text a part of the graphics, and hence, visually interesting.

4.3 and some more Every design follows a process and many hours of brainstorming. Here are some artworks which were a part of this process and led to the final designs and artworks for the Rupa Catalogue, 2013.
