Easy Gardening Hacks to Take the Graft out of Growing Need some handy hints for gardening? The hard work needed to maintain and grow a garden can quickly feel like an unwelcome addition to your to-do list. Never fear though, because we've rounded up the best growing tips and backyard hacks to make gardening easy and enjoyable. From a tiny backyard to expansive rolling lawns, our tricks will ensure you have a plot to be proud of. POP TEABAGS ON YOUR ROSES Tea leaves contain a compound called tannins which roses love because they add a slight acidity to the soil which makes them thrive. Bury teabags in 05 AUGUST 2022

MOUNT CORNER SHELVES IN A SMALL SHED Make use of every inch of storage space in your shed by installing corner shelves on one side for small garden items. Keep the other side free for tools with long handles. Don't forget the inside of the door either; a peg rail and additional shelf are handy for hanging hand tools and storing pots. PROTECT YOUNG PLANTS WITH OLD FLOWERPOTS
Instead of throwing away any used pots from the garden center, use them to protect new and small plants from the weather elements, hungry animals, and insects. Cut a hole in the bottom and then place them upside down over each plant. Keep the plastic pots secure by placing a cane through a drainage hole and into the ground. INVEST IN AN EXTENDABLE HOSE Unravelling a heavy garden hose full of kinks can be a dreaded garden chore so perhaps it's time for an upgrade. Make watering your garden a pleasure by switching to a lightweight
extendable version that will double in size when in use and then self-drain and store easily after. A hose with a high-density sleeve will last longer and prevent splitting. DIY A PRIVACY SCREEN Repurpose a wood pallet to create a rustic privacy screen or use it to hide away unsightly wheelie bins or a compost heap. Technology stops for no one. As it advances, it injects more and more acronyms for us to remember. One newer technology to look out for when trying to purchase higher-end PC’s, either for recreation or potentially graphic design, is Nvidia’s DLSS technology.
So how do I use it? DLSS is available on a lot of newer graphics cards coming out of Nvidia, and from their built-in control panel. You can find the option in their settings. Flip the switch on and enjoy increased performance.
What on earth is DLSS? DLSS stands for Deep Learning Super Sampling. This process is where the computer renders fewer pixels while using an AI to create high resolution images of what you are looking at, thus reducing the strain on your PC and allowing it to project a crystal-clear image with little to no visible difference from the traditional rendering you are used to. Why does that matter? The real impact it has is with mobile workstations. Laptops benefit immensely from this technology due to the constraints of heat, power, and size that are manufactured into each unit. This process severely reduces the heat and power drawn off the graphics card. This boosts overall performance and efficiency by almost 50% in many cases, and it will only get better as the technology progresses; which will increase the lifespan of your equipment as a byproduct of the reduced heat causing less wear and tear. Hot Dog Sliders with Mango-Pineapple Salsa Ingredients: • 3 tablespoons lime juice • 2 tablespoons honey • ¼ teaspoon salt • 1 cup cubed fresh pineapple (½ inch) • 1 cup cubed peeled mango (½ inch) • ¼ cup finely chopped red onion • 2 tablespoons finely chopped sweet red pepper • 12 hot dogs • 12 hot dog buns, split
Directions: 1. In a small bowl, whisk lime juice, honey, and salt until blended. Add pineapple, mango, onion, and pepper; toss to coat. 2. Grill hot dogs, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from heat until heated through, 7-9 minutes, turning occasionally. 3. Place hot dogs in buns; cut each crosswise in half.
