IHIT continues to seek witnesses in Burnaby shooting death Vancouver mayor confirms longtime city worker was fatally shot outside his home

CBC News Burnaby: Homicide investigators working on the shooting death of Vancouver city worker Hanif Jessa say they have no suspects at this point. Sgt. Stephanie Ashton of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said Jessa was shot in his vehicle outside his Burnaby home, but offered few details in a media update Thursday afternoon. Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson expressed his condolences after the fatal shooting of a "much-loved" city employee, but offered few details about the nature of the threat that put four city properties under heavy police presence yesterday. Mayor on shot city worker Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson says the city is 'stunned and saddened' to hear a longtime city employee has been shot and killed. "This is obviously a very disturbing event for city staff," said Robertson at a media briefing Thursday. "We are obviously stunned and saddened to hear the tragic news of the murder of a longtime city employee who was killed at his home in Burnaby." The city's online employee directory lists Jessa as the night supervisor of street cleaning. No threats prior to shooting Jessa was shot shortly after noon PT Wednesday on a residential cul-de-sac in Burnaby. He was rushed to hospital, but later died. Police presence at city hall Security that had been heightened at numerous locations, including Vancouver City Hall, has now been reduced. (CBC)

By 1 p.m., Burnaby RCMP alerted Vancouver police that there was a potential threat to other people at the city, said Vancouver police Chief Adam Palmer. The city police sent officers to Vancouver City Hall, the Manitoba and National works yards, and the Crossroads building on West Broadway at Cambie Street. Vancouver police beef up security after city employee killed At about 4 p.m., some city workers were told to evacuate the Crossroads building for the day, but were not told the nature of the threat. Robertson said the city had not received any threats prior to the shooting, and he deflected questions about whether the shooting had anything to do with city workplace issues. "I can't speak to the issues with human resources at the city.… There's

nothing to suggest that this had anything to do with what happened yesterday." Flags at Vancouver City Hall are at half-mast following Jessa's death. Security scaled back On Thursday morning, Vancouver police announced they were scaling back their presence at city sites. "As the risk to a City of Vancouver employee has been substantially reduced, the VPD are scaling back resources at work sites," said police spokesman Randy Fincham. It's not clear what changed to reduce the risk, given investigators said Thursday afternoon no suspects have been arrested. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the investigation and is working with Burnaby RCMP.

Banding Together Against Domestic Abuse

Surrey RCMP Inspector Dave Attfield, VanCity Newton Community Branch Manager Rup Sumal, and City of Surrey Councillor Mary Martin

Surrey: The 5th annual Rakhi Project was launched at the Vancity Credit Union in Newton today where communities came together to speak out against domestic abuse. The 2015 Rakhi Project, running from July 15-August 29, is designed to raise awareness about domestic abuse. The Surrey RCMP is a proud partner of this City of Surrey initiative. “Domestic abuse spans across all cultures, and this initiative is part of a multi-faceted approach the City of Surrey has undertaken to foster an ongoing dialogue around the issue of domestic violence in our community,” said Mayor Linda Hepner. This year’s campaign focuses on the significant role that

first responders play when answering domestic abuse incidents; often providing time-sensitive, critical, on-scene support for both victims and their children. “Domestic abuse is something our officers unfortunately see far too often. It is a complex issue that requires police, government and community to come together to stop the violence,” says Chief Superintendent Bill Fordy, Officer in Charge of the Surrey RCMP. “We are proud to support the Rakhi Project and the role it plays in involving the local community in this important issue.” Rakhi is a traditional South Asian ceremony that involves the tying of a rakhi (thread) by a sister on her brother’s wrist as a symbol of love, protection and respect. The Rakhi Project is a unique campaign that blends this tradition with domestic abuse awareness by encouraging people to wear a purple bracelet to show the role we all play in protecting one another. The 2015 Rakhi bracelet was designed by artist Karen Lipsett-Kidd and includes a rose quartz bead that symbolizes peace and love. The purple bracelets were handcrafted by the Sambhali Trust in India are being sold for $5 each with proceeds going to the City of Surrey’s Coalition Against Domestic Abuse (SCADA). Bracelets are available until August 29 at select Save-onFoods, Fruiticana, Surrey RCMP offices, DiverseCity Community Resources Society, select Vancity Credit Union locations, Crystalworks and Take Five Café at Surrey City Hall. The Rakhi Project is spearheaded by the City of Surrey in partnership with the Surrey RCMP, DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society, OMNI Television, Vancity Credit Union, Fruiticana, Save-on-Foods group, Glen Chua Media, the Sambhali Trust, kol Awau Crystalworks, Ending Violence Association of BC and the BC Lions.

Each number in the solution therefore occurs only once. in each of three "directions". Or you can say there is only one rule. I Love NY review: Flawed but worth a watch Film: I Love NY Cast: Kangana Ranaut, Sunny Deol,

Tannishtha

Chowdhary,

Prem

Chopra Director: Radhika Rao, Vinay Sapru Rating: 2.5/5 There were reports that Kangana Ranaut didn’t want I Love NY (New Year) to be released, but now after watching the film, it seems her worries were mostly fictional. In fact, she is the one you’ll noticce the most in the film, and she doesn’t disappoint either. I Love NY is much better than its run-of-the-mill trailers, but how good is actually good enough? Let’s find out. The film starts with a commentary in Randhir Singh’s (Sunny Deol) voice which is basically an exercise to make the ‘desi’ audience familiar with the popular American outlook. It’s just that the film has been released after being canned for some years and thus the Indian viewers have become used to such cultural and behavioural differences via other Hindi films. Randhir Singh is a guy from Chicago who accidentally reaches New York. Anyway, we get to know that our guy Randhir is a hard working, coffee drinking guy whose last marriage proposal was dated 10 years ago, and

Tikku in the film. A basic initiation is needed before we delve deeper into the nitty-gritties of a ‘why did you happen to me’ sort of tale in New York. In case, you don't have any direct reference to American pop culture then you can also consider Friends as a source of information. There things like handing over the keys of your apartment to somebody you’re dating is considered as the penultimate step towards getting married. In a nutshell, New York is a city which is a great mixture of traditional and modern. In such a city, Ishaan finds a ‘gharelu ladki’ who he accuses of being the ‘titli’ type. A girl who wants to be happy even at the darkest point of her life is at the helm of affairs, but her back-story has been presented in a very ordinary way.

now he is gathering courage to pop-up the same question to his current girlfriend Riya (Tannishtha). The really long gap between the two proposals is necessary otherwise how will the filmmakers justify a 57-yearold hero to the Indian audience? Of course, pun intended. He chooses the New Year Eve to get the long pending work done, but a series of mistakes and coincidences brings him to New York (you get the NY drift?), where he meets a school teacher Tikku Verma (Kangana Ranaut), described as the president of unlucky club by her boyfriend Ishaan (Navin Chowdhary). This ‘chance’ encounter is the actual beginning of a story which can at least boast of sensible dialogues. Kangana plays a school teacher

Tikku’s Monica-like apartment may hint towards a modern outlook, but the letters from her dead father which she keeps reading at every possible opportunity present her as the conscience keeper of the semi-urban Indian women. But, there’s a tinge of a feminist in her character which manages to make Tikku Verma a girl to root for. The directors (Radhika and Vinay) have taken the utmost care in representing their characters in the typical western way which brings a sense of equality between opposite genders. Kangana has come up with a good performance in I Love NY. It's not an attempt to imply that we’re incapable of doing the same, but American shows and films have stronger female characters. And, this is what I like the most about this film. Even if Ishaan uses negative connotations for Tikku, he does avoid the loud gestures we’re accustomed to. And, please be clear, I am strictly talking about the differences between the films of two separate time zones. Randhir is also not our otherwise angry Sunny Paaji who would destroy an entire nation to save his girl. He is a cool, calm and composed guy who confesses that New York has made him ‘besharam’ (shameless), though he means it more like ‘outspoken’. Who wouldn’t love his hopping dance in the song ‘Gud naal ishq mitha’! By Rohit Vats, Hindustan Times,

St. Paul’s Hospital Earns Prestigious National Award VANCOUVER — A care model redesign that improved patient care and saved close to $700,000 has earned the hemodialysis team at St. Paul’s Hospital a prestigious national award. The Canadian College of Health Leaders recognized the team for undertaking the transformational redesign with the 3M Health Care Quality Team Award (Acute Services Category) in Charlottetown, PEI. “The health care professionals at St. Paul’s do outstanding work and this award confirms their commitment to patient-centred care,” said Health Minister Terry Lake. “Congratulations to those involved on their innovative thinking in the redesign of the hemodialysis unit – which is creating new and improved patient pathways that help decrease emergency department visits.” The redesign involved completely rethinking the way care is provided on the unit. The unit’s traditional model of care consisted of three patients to one nurse (3:1) regardless of patient needs or acuity. Instead, the team co-located patients with similar needs (based on an

acuity scale), allowing the team to support a 2:1 ratio for higher acuity patients, while patients with fewer needs could receive a 3.5:1 ratio. As a result, the team could better personalize patient care. “These changes allowed us to address patients’ needs more quickly, and with a more personalized approach,” said Michele Trask, Operations Leader for the unit. “We wanted to find a way to allow patients to become more involved in their care.”

The transformation resulted in the following improved outcomes and cost savings: • Patients’ self-reported monitoring of their vascular access increased to 70 per cent up from 48 per cent, over the course of one year. • A decrease in Emergency Department visits and hospital admissions for patients. The median visit rate dropped to one visit per month for every eight patients, down from one in five patients previously.

• Combined cost savings of $688,242.80 from staffing efficiencies and cost avoidance related to a reduction in overtime spending. • Improved staff engagement and morale. The design touched every part of the unit. Using Lean methodologies and Time-in-Motion studies, the team redesigned everything right down to supply carts, along the way restructuring every role including nurses, social workers, renal technicians and unit coordinators, while also adjusting the rotations for almost 90 nursing staff members. This allowed the team to better match nursing shifts to the care that patients required. A portion of the savings was reinvested to create a patient navigator role that helps patients determine the right level of treatment (e.g. peritoneal, home, community or hospital hemodialysis) and education they require. The role of nurses also evolved as they became more focused on being mentors, coaches and educators. This has brought a new job satisfaction, as people get a new sense of joy from seeing their patients grow and progress.

Ryan Reynolds worried about daughter's first word

Actor Ryan Reynolds is worried his daughter's first word will be "f**k". The 38-year-old's seven-month-old daughter James spent a lot of time on the set of his new movie `Deadpool` and he hopes the bad language used in the film wouldn't have influenced her, reports eonline.com. `She's going to learn those words eventually anyway. If her first word is f**k, then I've done something wrong, but otherwise I think we're fine. I think we're OK. `The second or third (word), that's fine. But the first? No. It's going to have to be mom or dad. I'm rooting for mom,` he added. Reynolds was at Comic-Con in San Diego and was very impressed with the lengths people went to in order to imitate his superhero alter ego. He said: "I've probably seen about 400 (Deadpools) at this point. "I saw a couple that were awesome, that were really amazing. One guy (had) contact lenses underneath, really elaborate stuff. I took a picture with about eight of them that I saw just outside a little while ago...It was cool to see that. It was cool to see that level of passion and determination to make a perfect 'Deadpool'." By Santa Banta News Network

Madonna at receiving end over image of adopted black kids Singer Madonna is at the receiving end after posting a photograph of her two adopted black children - David Ritchie and Mercy James - rubbing her feet. The 56year-old posted an image on photosharing website Instagram showing her lying on the floor while Ritchie and James kneeled in front of her and rubbed her feet, reports aceshowbiz.com. Some of the micro-blogging website Twitter users slammed Madonna for posting the photograph, accusing her of treating her adopted children like slaves because they're black. A user, Wendy Williams reposted Madonna's image along with caption, "HOT QUESTION: Are you offended by the photo Madonna posted?" @AH0LYF00L wrote: "I cant believe Madonna still has slaves to rub her feet!" @HolyJaxon tweeted, "Wow @ madonna hiring slaves." Kim Kardashian dismisses naming son South Reality TV star Kim Kardashian says she won't be calling her and Kanye West's second child South. Asked on "Big Podcast" if she will name the baby South West, Kim denied it, reports femalefirst.co.uk. "I've been asked hundreds of times. And I think it's the stupidest question, no disrespect to you. Why just add another direction? We're good. North is the best. I don't want to try and duplicate that with like a lower direction, you know," she

said.

West said. "Like I hate that, like, creatives are beat down so much and are put in a position where they can't even speak out loud, that's the reason why the world be ugly, because there's millions of beautiful colours in the world but the world is only controlled by one colour," he added. By Santa Banta News Network

Kanye also had spoken out to defend his two-yearold daughter's "innovative" name. "Ya'll be calling my daughter's name weird, like, her name should be like some name that you've heard before and all that. I don't like to say that it's weird when it's innovative and fresh,"

Horoscope

Apna Roots, July 17th, 2015

Are you struggling with paperwork or a writing project? You'll have it done before the first week ends. The June 2 Full Moon shines on your communication abilities all (Mar. 21- April 19) month. Load up that social schedule and book a lot of short field trips and fun activities around the New Moon on June 16. If your friends think you're taking over, take the high road, be agreeable, and don't get into an argument. It's all going to be fun, whatever it is. After June 24, when Mars enters Cancer, kick back and spend more quality time at home with your favorite people.

Get out with your friends and rock and roll during the first week. Home will be a refuge after the June 2 Full Moon, and it will be your favorite place to indulge that creative streak. Social events could take over your life again (July 23-Aug 22) after the New Moon on June 16. You can do good things with it, though, and meet a lot of great, cooperative, equally ambitious people. Avoid personality clashes. Get lost in the crowd, if need be, and widen your network. The Sun enters Cancer on June 21, bringing summer and an unstoppable vacation mentality. Work hard and play hard.

When has love ever been this exciting and smart? The June 2 Full Moon could open your eyes to a grand new love opportunity. You may need to introduce yourself or speak first, but after that the wheels will turn nicely. Partners become important in the second half of the month, especially after the June 16 New (Nov 22- Dec 21) Moon. Do your share and contribute as much as will be accepted. Take care that you don't run over anyone or take over, though. You're that energized. June 30 is sweet, friendly, and generous. Be nice, as usual, and let people be nice to you, too.

Many moneymaking opportunities could appear early in the month, especially around the June 2 Full Moon. Income might improve, too. At first you may feel that you're benefiting others more than yourself. Go slowly and be willing to keep up any extra effort. Money is again a big motivator, especially after the New Moon on (Apr. 20- may 20) June 16. You have endless energy and can make great progress. Just don't drive yourself crazy or alienate friends. Talk with someone older and wiser if you feel you're getting manic. Love takes on some extra flash and sizzle when Venus trines Uranus on June 28.

Relax at home, enjoy some comfort food, and keep your batteries charged for any extra work demands. Be sharp, energetic, and smart under the June 2 Full Moon. Rest before the New Moon on June 16. Your career situation could get a huge boost over the next few weeks. Even if a brilliant opportunity, advance, or offer doesn't immediately (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22) appear, you'll be eager and motivated, and you could generate one of your own. Stay realistic, but work hard and change your work world. The friendly vibes of June 25 may mean people will be more obliging. Make the most of this.

f you're in need of some advice or energy is low around the June 2 Full Moon, discreetly ask. Someone is waiting to help you. You become the go-to person in your family or at work later in the month. The New Moon on (Dec 22.- Jan. 19) June 16 makes this easy for you. It won't take much effort. You'll be good at it and happy to do it, but don't let people take advantage of your good nature. Enough is enough. Start the work week in a good mood on June 28, after the Moon moves away from Saturn and any imagined self-doubts fade away.

Listen more carefully and talk more quietly in the first week or two. A lot of people may have things to tell you around the June 2 Full Moon that you know you want to hear. Something new and thrilling could enter your life after the New Moon on June 16. It may be (Sept. 23 -Oct. 23) near to home, but it will still fire up great enthusiasm. A friend could give you some news that enlightens your mind and widens your world. Friends and family have your back on June 26. They'll ease things if a weekend romance starts to get too dramatic.

This is your month to work well with lots of people, in groups or out in public. People will find you clever, creative, and entertaining, especially around the June 2 Full Moon. You may be overflowing with great new fun ideas, starting around the June 16 New Moon. A more creative (Jan. 20 -Feb. 19) one could turn into something lucrative, if only as a hobby that pays for itself. You don't have to do everything at once, even if you have the energy for it. June 28 may feel a bit rocky, but don't take things personally. No one's angry with you.

Keep an eye on your impulse spending in the first week. The June 2 Full Moon could set you up to buy more than you intend. Before a purchase, strike up a conversation and give yourself more time to think about it. Life could get exciting after the June 16 New Moon, when other people's anxieties (Oct. 24 - Nov. 21) might set off yours. Stay calm and collected, and maybe start a powerful and profitable relationship. Be bold but not reckless when the opportunity arises. The weekend of June 27 could be emotionally overloaded, so spend it with someone you know you already love.

Career concerns are bright, but it might not seem so at first. The June 2 Full Moon can set you up for success, but don't get distracted or tricked into being too enthusiastic. Take charge of (Feb. 20 -Mar. 20) something important at home later in the month. You'll have more enthusiasm, energy, and authority to break down barriers around the June 16 New Moon. Do what makes sense to you. If you need to do it yourself, you can. The weekend of June 27 looks good for love and confiding hopes and dreams. Choose your company well, feel emotionally safe, and maybe form a stronger bond.

The June 2 Full Moon wants to bring you love, but you may think you're too busy or not ready. Trust your instincts and resist if you must. Don't feel rushed or hurried. The June 16 New Moon lights your personal fire. Be wildly energetic get a lot done, but don't get impatient or angry. It would only (May 21-June 21) escalate and it might be hard to find the emotional "off" switch. Stay cool and let people be on your side. June 23 could be sticky at work when people seem determined to misunderstand each other. Avoid the gossip mill and you'll be fine. Something about daily life could take on more importance for you in the first week. The Full Moon on June 2 makes it easy for you to multitask and deal with several distractions at once. Things go so smoothly that you may barely notice at the time. The June 16 New Moon could uncover a number ( June 22-July 22) of little buried fears and suspicions, but you'll also have great self-assurance. Dispel those minor demons now and be happier and more secure than ever. You may feel like celebrating when the Sun enters Cancer and summer begins on June 21. Go for it!

Dear SOS Dear SOS: My husband and I met in high school before my 15th birthday. He had always been a poor student and preferred getting and making money over learning. He dropped out of school after grade 10. We dated for two years and then I got pregnant. I was always an honor roll student and planned on becoming a doctor but with the baby coming I had to change my plans. By the time I was eighteen I was married with one child. We got our own place, life was hard but still we had some good times. Then we had another child. Our relationship was great -- until we had children to care for. I stayed home to look after the children while my husband went to work and then he got laid off. Then he was working on and off. Things got physical not long after our second child arrived. We'd argue and I'd try to leave, only to result in me being choked, or he'd throw me against a wall to prevent

me from calling 911.My arm was broken twice and one time, he broke my nose. He was never violent towards the children He said I never did things right, everything that goes wrong he blames me for it. I left for good last year. I have left many times before, but went back because of dependency on him and for the sake of my children. I did not get much support to leave him from my family. But this time I have a lot of support, plus I have started school to finish my studies. My father who is close to retiring is quitting his job to care for my children while I attend school first to get some basic training to get a job. I hope to go to university one day to get my degree. My husband knows I'm not coming back this time. We're on speaking terms only because of the children. But his friends and family says we should get together for the sake of the kids. I just don't know what to do. Should I try to reconcile

with my husband? On some level, I know it wouldn't work and it's wrong to even think about going back to that life, after being given a chance for a better one. But then, I picture my husband and the kids and the kind of family life I want for them and wonder if I shouldn't try at least once again. Need Answers in Abbotsford Dear

possibilities are endless. Although your husband "wasn't violent toward the children," by failing to control his rage he exposed them to violence. Nowhere did you mention that he has any desire to change. Because your children know no different, they could think daddy's behavior is normal. It is urgent that they learn it is not normal, and it's your job to teach your children that lesson by example. You are making positive strides in the right direction. My advice is to keep marching forward and don't look back.

One of Alia Bhatt's favorite American television shows is Better Call Saul - a dark comedy about a lawyer whom everyone calls to get them out of trouble. The actress loves the show so much that she follows the mantra to the hilt and calls her real life Saul - mentor Karan Johar - whenever she feels things are not happening her way. She has Karan on her speed-dial and in her phone book, his number is saved as 'Better Call Karan'. Alia has even made sure that Better Call Saul is part of the line-up of an upcoming English entertainment channel that she is co-curating along with KJo. By Santa Banta

Finally! Salman Khan reveals the name of his eternal beloved?

Finally! Salman reveals the name of his eternal beloved? Thursday, July 16, 2015 14:00 IST By Santa Banta News Network Superstar Salman Khan says shooting in Kashmir for his forthcoming film "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" was an `incredible` experience, adding that the place offers a whiff of freshness on each visit. `The experience of shooting in Kashmir was incredible. It is a beautiful place with beautiful people. We have such amazing places in our country and we don't want to shoot there...how silly of us,` Salman told reporters here. The actor shared insights about shooting in Kashmir during a promotional tour here on Tuesday with the film's team - director Kabir Khan, actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, singers Mika Singh, Adnan Sami, Jubin Nautiyal and Amar Butala, CEO of Salman Khan Films.

The actor also noted that a number of Bollywood filmmakers are flocking the place, often termed as a 'paradise on earth', for work. `They have started shooting as two to three films are already out there. But no matter how much you shoot there, the place will always be beautiful and fresh as before,` the actor added. The "Dabangg" star is smitten by the beauty of Kashmir as he had earlier mentioned that `if someone has not seen Kashmir, he or she has seen nothing at all`. He had also mentioned that Kashmir reminded him of his former ladylove Katrina Kaif. The film, which has also been shot in Mandawa and Delhi, is a story of man, who is out on a mission to take a dumb and mute girl, lost in India, back to her home in Pakistan. It will release on Friday.

While the actress' participation in the Homi Adajania film was confirmed only a couple of days ago, we hear the makers have finally zeroed in on Sushant Singh

Ăˆ

Rajput to play her love interest. Says an insider, `There were a lot of contenders for the lead actor's role. Talks with Sushant have been fruitful and he has taken on board. The official announcement on his casting will be made soon. He is not allowed to speak about the deal yet. The script is ready and we have started the pre-production

work.` The 2012 bestseller by John Green was adapted into an eponymous English film last year which proved to be a big grosser besides earning critical acclaim. Shailene Woodley played a 16year-old cancer patient who attends a support group and falls in love with another cancer survivor (Ansel Elgort). Santa Banta

‘Baahubali’ - ‘EPIC’, prodigious movie, you can't miss! Baahubali's first image might not be able to narrate the true essence of the movie, you might consider the movie like a typical regional movie, however, 'Bahubali' is nothing that you imagine! SS Rajamouli has convincingly given a whole new definition to the Regional Cinema. The larger than life sets, the magnificent war scenes, the hunky dory heroes of the movie, all together makes the 'Bahubali' worthwhile. The film is about a young lad Shivudu (Prabhas) who belongs to the royal family of Mahishmati, but under certain circumstances, he is raised by a tribal family. He comes across a girl Avantika (Tamannaah Bhatia) who is a part of a different tribe. Avantika is a warrior and she has no room for love. Her motive in life is to bring back, the

queen, Devasena (Anushka Shetty) back from the Bhallala Deva (Rana Daggubati) who is a tyrant and presently ruling Mahishmati kingdom. SS Rajamouli's work of imagination

and the remarkable work at the screenplay along with Rahul Koda, Madhan Karky and Vijayendra Prasad is overwhelming. The movie post interval takes a new

Here Comes The Storm! Watch spellbinding ‘Bajirao Mastani’ teaser Humongous sets, mesmerizing music, and a heart touching love saga at its core. What will you call such a cine phenomenon? Obviously an SLB creation, ‘made from heart, and made for hearts’. So after so much of wait, finally the first teaser of Bhansali's much awaited dream project 'Bajirao Mastani' is finally here. The movie which features Ranveer, Deepika and Priyanka in lead roles is a period drama. Apparently, Bajirao Mastani, based on the life of invincible Maratha

warrior narrates the love life of Bajirao, who in spite of being married to, Kashibai (Priyanka in movie) falls in love with a fire brand damsel, Mastani (Deepika in the movie). Though the movie faced so many obstacles during its course of making, but in spite of that it braved all the odds, and is finally ready to charm the masses. With trailer-release of this period drama just a couple of hours away, here we bring for you the first teaser of this grand cine saga, so have a look...

high. The flashback narrated by Kattappa (Sathyaraj) is explicit. While you are watching the movie you might get a feel of Ramayana or other epic sagas, but in comparison to that, Rajamouli has outright conquered the stage. The audience would be amazed by the imaginary world, which, of course, was created by VFX effects was mesmerizing. The part snow, part green, the enormous wars everything acts as a doorway to Rajamouli's imaginary world. The story further unwraps the misery of the people of Mahishmati kingdom, by the vilify and slavery of the barbaric ruler Bhallala Deva. However, Shiva is back and is ready to take back what is his. Talking about the acting Prabhas looks perfect as Bahubali. He has done a splendid job in bringing the character of Shiva and Bahubali to life. Also, he looks majestic with the arm ripping muscles and the splendid physique. Rana Daggubati, on the other hand, looks evil and prudent in the character of Bhallala. His fight scene with the bull might amaze you and pop your eyes out, with the chiseled muscles and body line. Tamannaah who plays Avantika has very well done the stunts in the film and does stand shoulder to shoulder with our hunks in the film. Other than the lead, Sathyaraj who plays Kattappa in the film has done a splendid job. Also, few established names in the south like Ramya Krishnan and Nassar have added to the essence of the movie. -Santa Banta

(NC) According to new Statistics Canada data, the number of honey bee colonies in the country is on the rise, but there are still many factors that can affect their health. The most devastating factor is a tiny parasite less than a millimetre long, called the varroa mite, and it's present in many honey bee hives across Canada. Feeding on the blood—or hemolymph—of the honey bee, the varroa mite can quickly infest an entire hive. This weakens each individual honey bee and has a devastating effect on the whole colony, reducing its ability to withstand stress, like the extreme cold of the winter. Without honey bees and the work they do to spread pollen, many vegetables, flowers, fruit and nuts that we enjoy would not exist. Many of the world's crops are dependent on honey bees and as a result it is in our best interest to keep them safe to avoid disease.

Alternative Energy Sources For Your Home (NC) Canadians are often early adopters of alternative technologies. That tendency is now playing out in the market for home heating fuels. Propane's popularity continues to grow as Canadians choose it over other heating fuels. There are several benefits in switching to this fuel source for homeowners: Ease And Availability Canada is the 6th largest producer of propane in the world, and is home to industry leaders like Superior Propane who make using it for home heating as simple as possible. Case in point: their new mySUPERIOR online portal. It helps homeowners track their deliveries, check their account status, and pay their bills online.

Strong Value Families are watching their budgets like never before. Propane's strong economic case has helped it become the choice for many Canadians across the country. Further, if used to heat water, propane heaters can be less expensive to operate than electric ones. Environmental Appeal Environmentally, propane is good news. It stands above most fuels and rivals the cleanest. It effectively competes on both efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions in many applications. Strong Safety Record All aspects of propane are subject to strict standards and regulations. It is only transferred between containers by trained personnel. Home heating with propane has an enviable safety record. Portable And Flexible As we all know from our barbecues, a big part of propane's appeal is it travels so well. In many cases, it's the only fuel used in remote locations because of its portability. And it can do more than heat homes—like power appliances, pool and water heaters, and even clothes dryers and refrigerators.

Environmentally Friendly Meets Economical

(NC) In today's society we are often confronted with the decision to be either cost efficient or environmentally conscious. Getting to work, heating our home, and washing our clothes are all choices that impact both our wallet and our environment. In many cases convenience and economy do not translate to environmentally friendly. However, as technology develops and the drive for environmental preservation continues in Canada, more cost-effective and eco-friendly options are emerging. One place in particular that all Canadian families are looking for an economical way to limit their carbon footprint is at home. Rising electricity costs have many Canadian families looking for an alternative energy source to use. Propane is a modern energy source, with an enviable safety record, that provides exceptional value for hundreds of thousands of Canadians. Propane is a clean-burning gas that offers homeowners enhanced air quality and increased performance for appliances such as pool, patio, space and water heaters, clothes dryers, and refrigerators. Propane is a versatile fuel and its value comes through in all of its applications. Studies show that heating a home with propane costs half as much on average as heating a home with electricity. When it comes to hot water, propane heaters can be less expensive to operate than electric ones. Along with propane's strong economics, its availability is equally strong. Canada is the sixth largest producer of propane in the world, making the energy source available to all Canadians. Plus, the country is home to industry leaders like Superior Propane, who have helped make using it for home heating as simple s possible.
