Punjabi 'Bombshell Bandit' nurse jailed for bank robberies in US
IANS, California: An Indian-origin woman, nicknamed the "Bombshell Bandit" and convicted of robbing four banks in three US states, has been sentenced to 66 months in prison. Sandeep Kaur, 24, of Union City, California, was sentenced in the federal district court in St. George in the US state of Utah on Tuesday, according to a St. George News report. Her attorney, Jay Winward, unsuccessfully requested for a lesser sentence for Kaur. Kaur pleaded guilty in January to four felony charges of bank robberies that occurred during the summer of 2014. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, dubbed Kaur "Bombshell Bandit" after robberies last year in which a welldressed woman approached bank tellers and threatened to detonate a bomb if they did not hand over cash from their registers. Kaur's crime spree began in California and ended after robbing the US Bank in the city of St. George, and leading police officers on a high-speed pursuit to Nevada, where she was arrested after an hour-long stand-off. Winward asked the court for a sentence of 48 months. He told the court that Kaur was young, well-educated, capable of paying restitution, and had no
prior criminal history. She was raised in a traditional Indian family and grew up feeling "trapped" and bullied, Winward said. She had run from an arranged marriage, to her boyfriend, whom she subsequently married. However, the relationship turned abusive, Winward said. After making some money in the stock market, Kaur ended up in Las Vegas, acquiring a gambling addiction and becoming indebted to loan sharks, according to the attorney. He told the court that Kaur was not a run-of-themill criminal, but rather a "good, wholesome person who made some horrible decisions". Kaur felt remorse, Winward said, and had been a model prisoner; and she had turned back to her religion. She was willing and capable of paying back the money she had stolen in the bank robberies, and could become a useful member of society, he said. Winward also said that even though Kaur threatened violence during the robberies, she was not a violent person and did not have a firearm or explosives during the robberies. However, prosecuting attorney Paul Kohler said that during the robberies, the bank tellers did not know Kaur did not have a weapon, and so were afraid for their lives. The tellers were "trapped", as were the families driving on the I-15 motorway during the police chase, and the police officers who responded. Before pronouncing the sentence, US district judge Ted Stewart called the case "complex", citing both the violence of Kaur's crimes, and her intelligence and opportunities. Kaur graduated from high school at the age of 15, and from nursing school at 19, he said. However, the circumstances of Kaur's life explained, but did not justify the crimes, the judge said, and did not warrant a lesser sentence. The public must be protected, he said. Besides serving 66 months in prison, Kaur was ordered to repay the $40,000 taken in the four robberies
Sim Bhullar makes NBA history, is first Indian player to play in NBA game SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP)— Sacramento Kings backup centre Sim Bhullar made history Tuesday night when he became the first player of Indian descent to play in an NBA game. Bhullar, who was born in Toronto and played in college at New Mexico State, checked in with 16.1 seconds remaining in the Kings’ 116-111 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. A crowd of 16,770 gave the 7-foot-5 Bhullar a standing ovation when he replaced Jason Thompson and lined up along the key while teammate Ray McCallum took the second of two free throw attempts.

Surrey in final competition for Intelligent Community of the Year Award Surrey: The Surrey is in competition to be named the 2015 Intelligent Community of the Year after being selected as one of the Top 7 finalists by New York-based think tank the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF). As part of the final round of evaluations, a two-day site visit from ICF co-founder Robert Bell commenced today at Surrey City Hall. In his keynote address, Mr. Bell shared his global perspective on how communities use digital technologies to build prosperous economies, solve social problems and enrich local cultures. “The fact that Surrey has made it to the final round of the Top 7 Cities is a validation that what we are doing is making a positive difference in the people who live and work in our City,” says Mayor Linda Hepner. “Whether it’s in our efforts to bring about the best and most advanced ideas or how we can better engage and interact with our citizens, what we have in Surrey is a phenomenal group of people working together to shape a positive vision of the future for our City. During the site visit the Surrey community will showcase initiatives and partnership highlighted in the application process including: • Innovation Boulevard, an agile partnership of health, business, higher education and government which is creating new health technologies to improve peoples' lives in the areas of medical devices, independent living and digital health.
• SFU Surrey programming and labs focused on mechatronics engineering, arts and technology and entrepreneurship. • Partnership-driven early childhood development initiatives including progress made since Surrey’s participated in the IBM Smarter Cities Challenge. • Citywide Wi-Fi service in partnership with Shaw Communications Inc. which will be offered free at more than 40 key locations throughout the city, including recreation centres, and a number of parks, civic buildings and public spaces • The City’s state-of-the-art Traffic Management Centre, which began operating in the fall of 2014; this Centre

allows adjustments of traffic signals based on real-time traffic flow. It is the most advanced municipal centre of its kind in BC. This centralized control system controls 320 traffic signals and 16 coordinated corridors. “Investing in technology and innovation has been a key priority for council as we prepare our City for the growth and the challenges of the future,” said Councillor Bruce Hayne, Chair of the Investment and Innovation Committee. “For us to be in the running for the top spot is a result of our ability to have meaningful partnerships and collaboration.”

Surrey: The Surrey elementary school with the highest number of students from Indo-Canadian background installed animal murals walls. Strawberry Hill Elementary School, located on 76 Avenue and 124th Street in Surrey has the hightest population of
students belonging to Punjabi speaking community, with 94 percent of the school students list Punjabi as the language spoken at home. “With the help of an artist and students, we have created 5 murals for our outside walls that depict the life of a
typical immigrant family into this wonderful society using our school mascot, the Jaguar, as a metaphor,” said School principal Raminder Randhawa. Principal Randhawa has earlier been named an exceptional principal by a national organization.
For many people, their vehicle is one of their most valuable possessions. Thieves know that too and that’s why they are targeting your vehicles. Treating your keys like cash and keeping them secured at all times is the best and easiest way to keep thieves from laying their hands on your wheels. April is Auto Crime Enforcement Month and the Coquitlam Mounties are working with the Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team (IMPACT) and Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) to help vehicle owners to protect their vehicles from car thieves. "For a decade we’ve seen significant decreases in auto crime in B.C. due to increased awareness, police enforcement including the Bait Car program and legislation requiring new vehicles to be equipped with immobilizers. However, in 2014, there was an increase in auto theft compared to 2013," said Corporal Jamie Chung. "Locally, our data shows an increase of 12% in vehicle thefts and 9% in break-ins to vehicles from 2013 to 2014. More recent data also shows auto crimes trending in both of our last two CompStat Alerts." Here are some helpful tips to keep you from being a victim of auto theft or theft from auto: Always keep your vehicle’s keys, fobs or valet keys secured. Don’t keep them in the vehicle when it’s unoccupied; or leave them unguarded, such as on a table in a coffee shop or in a gym locker. Don’t leave your vehicle running unattended. Use an anti-theft device, such as a steering wheel lock, an alarm or an immobilizer, to deter your vehicle from being targeted. Leave nothing of value in your vehicle. Thieves will break-in to a vehicle to steal loose change or empty pop cans. Park in secured and well-lit areas with a lot of foot traffic. Always close all the windows and lock all the doors, even if you are away from your vehicle for just a few seconds.

NASA’s chief scientist claims to find signs of alien life by 2025
Guest Editorial Pharmacare would mean big savings The case for a national pharmacare program, covering prescription drug costs for all Canadians, is now noticeably stronger. A persuasive new study analyzing the cost of such coverage has found it would save a great deal of money, especially for the private sector, with relatively little expense to government. “In
many
of
the
scenarios
we
modelled,
universal
pharmacare was cost-neutral for governments,” says Dr. Danielle Martin, one of the study’s authors and a vice-president at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto. “This goes against current thinking that a universal program will cost more.” These
findings,
published
in
the
Canadian
Medical
Association Journal, should be required reading for provincial and territorial politicians and especially in Ottawa, where federal determination to make pharmacare happen has been noticeably lacking.
Washington (ANI): NASA’s chief scientist has claimed that they could find evidence of alien life in the universe as early as 2025. Ellen Stofan said during a panel discussion that focused on the space agency's efforts to search for habitable worlds and alien life that they are going to have definitive evidence within 20 to 30 years, as they now know where and how to look, Fox News reported. Former astronaut John Grunsfeld, associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, shared Stofan’s optimism, predicting that signs of life will be found relatively soon both in the Earth’s solar system and beyond. Recent discoveries suggested that the solar system and broader Milky Way galaxy teem with environments that
could support life as we know it, he further added. Hunting for evidence of alien life is a much trickier proposition than identifying potentially habitable environments. But researchers are working steadily toward that more involved and ambitious goal. For example, the agency’s next Mars rover, scheduled to launch in 2020, will search for signs of past life and cache samples for a possible return to Earth for analysis. NASA also aims to land astronauts on Mars in the 2030s. NASA is also planning out a mission to Europa, which may launch as early as 2022. The main goal of this 2.1 billion dollars mission will be to shed light on the icy moon’s potential habitability, but it could also search for signs of alien life.
There would be a modest increase in one cost category: uninsured people who can’t afford medicine will finally fill their prescriptions. But there would be additional savings, too, by eliminating the duplication of legal, technical and administrative work inherent in Canada’s existing, disjointed approach. The net result would be a far more costeffective system. But the goal of national pharmacare isn’t just to save money. Prescription medication
can keep people healthy, ease pain, avoid trips to the hospital, and even save lives. Pharmacare is ultimately about giving all Canadians access to the medicines they need, regardless of where they work, the province where they live, their age, their medical condition or whether they’re on welfare. It’s about closing a disgraceful gap in our universal health care system. Guest editorial from The Toronto Star
Universal public drug coverage could lower annual spending on prescription medicine in Canada by $7.3 billion, the study’s authors conclude. Several scenarios were developed on what such a program might cost government, with the worst-case estimate pegging additional costs at $5.4 billion and the best-case scenario producing a net saving of $2.9 billion. Under
a
mid-range
“base
scenario,”
total
cost
to
governments would be $958 million. But that would generate an $8.2-billion drop in private-sector spending on prescription drugs. It’s an investment well worth making. Savings of this magnitude would put Canadian per capita prescription drug spending on par with levels in countries such as Switzerland, Austria and Spain, the authors note. (Nations such as the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Sweden spend even less.) Canadians currently shell out an average of 50 per cent more per capita than people in other developed countries. It’s no coincidence that Canada is alone in having a universal health insurance system that does not include the cost of prescription drugs. Instead, what we have is a mish-mash of private drug plans — with access typically depending on where a person works — and

Canada to give PM Modi ‘Rockstar’ Welcome New Delhi (ANI): Canadian High Commissioner to India Nadir Patel on Thursday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be visiting the country at the invitation of his Canadian counterpart, Stephen Harper and will be given a ‘Rockstar’ welcome. “Canada is looking forward to this visit immensely. It is highly anticipated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be welcomed, welcomed with open arms not only by the government but by the Canadian community at large. Hope he will be welcomed and like a Rockstar,” Patel told ANI here. “There is no doubt that there will be many opportunities for a lot of things to be discussed, trade, investment, innovation, range of issues related to relationship... culture, sport, film as well security and a number of areas. So, we are really looking forward to it,” he added. Patel said that it is the first time that the hosting country will be welcoming a Prime Minister on a bilateral visit in approximately 40 years. “Certainly we are going to take full advantage of that to raise this relationship to even greater heights. There are a number of areas that we are exploring and further building for strong corporation already. That includes a wide range, science and technology, defence, renewable energy, skill development,” he added. “We are also looking at how Canadian capacity in some of the areas directly in interest to the Modi
government like smart cities, intelligent cities is an example. Canada has three of the top five intelligent cities in the world... we have a lot of capacity that directly links to the Modi government’s vision,” Patel said. Patel further said that Canada is also looking at promoting greater ties (Indo-Canada) in terms of not only trade but investment. “We have some negotiations underway for comprehensive economic partnership agreement as well as foreign investment agreement. We are hopeful that we progress in that area as well,” Patel added. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave for an nine-day, three nation visit to France, Germany and Canada later today, with the objective of holding

bilateral talks as well as people to people contacts with all three key global economic powerhouses. MEA Special Secretary (Americas and CPV) R. Swaminathan had earlier on Wednesday said that this is the first stand-alone visit to Canada by an Indian Prime Minister in over 40 years. "Prime Minister Modi is visiting Canada at the invitation of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. This is the first stand-alone Prime Ministerial visit to Canada in 42 years. Bilaterally, the intensity has been very high since July 2004. We consider Canada an important partner for our own developmental objectives through investment, trade and technology. Canada is the eleventh largest economy and their top five pension funds alone control nearly USD 700 billion. Canada is also an energy superpower and has a vibrant Indian community of 1.2 million," he said. Elaborating further on the Prime Minister's schedule in Canada Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar told the media, “Prime Minister Modi will reach Ottawa on April 14. On April 15 morning, he will have a ceremonial welcome, before calling on Canada Governor General David Johnston. He will then meet Prime Minister Harper for a working lunch. He will then travel to Toronto for a reception by Prime Minister Harper, before attending a diaspora event.” "On April 16, there will be a pension fund meeting, followed by a visit to the Air India Memorial in Toronto. Thereafter, he will travel to Vancouver, where he will visit the Laxminarayan temple and a gurudwara, where he will interact with the Indian community. Later in the evening, he will attend a state dinner hosted by Prime Minister Harper, before leaving for India," he added. "The overall objective is to alleviate, diversify and deepen our engagement across a whole range of fields and impart new vigour through concrete steps," he further said. (ANI)

Sudoku Solutions for last Issue
The sudoku puzzle is mostly a 9-by9 grid made up of 3-by-3 subgrids. Some cells already contain numbers, known as givens. The goal is to fill in the empty cells, one number in each, so that each column, row, and region contains the numbers 1 through 9 exactly once. Each number in the solution therefore occurs only once. in each of three "directions". Or you can say there is only one rule. Every row, every column and every 3-by-3 subgrid should contain digits 1 to 9 only.

Defending Public Education Lately, public education in British Columbia, especially at the k-12 level, has been getting a rough ride. The provincial government has been consistently cutting back on its much needed financial support for our public schools. The latest command from Victoria that the school districts must shave off another $29 million from their budgets is bound to cause lot of disruptions in our already stressed out public schools. These cuts, year after year, have been going on for the past fourteen years. None of the sixty school districts would be spared the pain of cutbacks, staff layoffs and other related negative effects. I have had the privilege of working in BC’s public school system in various capacities (from classroom teacher to administrator to school psychologist) for 36 years. As such, I have nothing but praise for our teachers, administrators and support staff who have been doing a commendable job in providing the best possible education to our children and youth. It is rather unfortunate, that the decision makers in Victoria consider teachers in the public school system as their adversaries rather than their partners in educating the young minds. Without strong advocacy for public education in Victoria, the teachers and their union-BC Teachers’ Federationhave to fend for themselves. A vast majority of our public school teachers and support staff simply want to do their job in the best possible manner they can. However, sometime they are forced into a situation over which they have no control. The strike/lockout towards the
end of last school year and the beginning of this school year was a typical example of this. Rather than ensuring stability and predictability in the school system, the provincial government keeps tinkering with it. The latest changes being suggested by the government are aimed at major restructuring of the system which is bound to result in more unpredictability and uncertainty. In this context, Vancouver Sun columnist Daphne Bramham, in her column (Vancouver Sun, March 28), put it very well in these words: “A blunt reading of the BC government’s plan for public education is this: Impoverish it, neuter critics (including teachers and elected school trustees) and centralize control. Once control is centralized, the blueprint seems to be to move to the American model where public school funding and teachers’ pay are linked more closely to students’ test scores. This scenario seems to be very troublesome for BC’s public school system which is very well respected around the globe. BC’s public schools cannot be choosy like their private counterparts. They are under obligation to accept any child/youth that walks through their doors. Our public schools are expected to provide first-rate education to all students. These include children with special needs, children with little English and those who arrive at school hungry, students with social, emotional and behaviour difficulties etc. There are countless stories of schools and teachers struggling to meet the growing needs of their students under very difficult
circumstances. Since 1988 the funding to school has been under provincial control. On top of that, there are costs beyond a school district’s control .Yet; the school district has to cut somewhere else to meet those additional costs/expenses as its budget must be balanced. This puts the administrators and elected school trustees in an extremely difficult situation. Certainly, our elected school boards are on the front lines to defend and act as advocates for the public school system. This is what they are expected to do. Most of them are doing an excellent job in this regard. However, in view of the ever-changing educational landscape they need more public support. At the same time our school trustees and the BC School Trustees Association need to become more vocal and visible in lobbying the provincial government for more funding. The provincial government also needs to recognize the importance of public schools in society. Furthermore, there is an onus upon each one of us as parents, grandparents and concerned citizens to convince the government to stop any further cuts to our public schools and provide more funding to them. These measures will go a long way in restoring confidence in our public education and enable all of the stakeholders to serve the students in their care in the most effective manner. Our children and youth deserve it. Balwant Sanghera (Balwant Sanghera is a retired School Psychologist and Community Activist)
More sport programming for 46 groups
VICTORIA - As part of the Government of British Columbia's ongoing efforts to ensure all British Columbians have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of sport, 46 groups will share more than $70,000 in funding through Local Sport Program Development (LSPD), Girls Only and Forever Active Bodies (FAB) 55+ grants, announced Coralee Oakes, Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development. Managed by ViaSport, these grants are part of the BC Sport Participation Program (BCSPP) - a partnership between the Government of British Columbia and Sport Canada. Since 2004, the BCSPP has provided close to $1 million in grants annually to provincial and multi-sport organizations for programs that help increase participation in sport, particularly for under-represented and marginalized populations. Approximately $43,000 will go to 28 different non-profit groups for sport programs through LSPD. These grants are designed to help establish new sport programs or expand existing ones so that more British Columbians, particularly those who face barriers to sport, have opportunities to participate.

Apparently, Shahid Kapoor may tie the knot with the Delhi girl Mira Rajput on June 10 and the preparations for the wedding are in full swing Shahid Kapoor moved out of the eligible bachelors' club when he recently confirmed reports about his impending marriage. Though he revealed plans about tying the knot - apparently with Delhi girl Mira Rajput - by the end of this year, sources say that his wedding bells will ring in June. Says a source, "Both the families have agreed on June 10 as the wedding date. In fact, preparations have already begun." Buzz is that Shahid Kapoor met the college girl during a gathering at philosophical organisation Radha Soami Satsang, of which Shahid's father, Pankaj Kapur is a follower. "The couple will tie the knot in the presence of family members and a few close friends. Later, a grand reception will be held for Shahid's industry friends and colleagues," an insider says. A source close to the actor's family says June 10 is only a tentative date,
adding: "They are still contemplating over the dates and June 10 is just an option. Nothing has been finalised so far. But it's true that the preparations for the wedding are in full swing." Shahid Kapoor remained unavailable for comment. By arrangement with Mid-Day.com

Apna Roots, April 10th, 2015
Pay extra-close attention to any sudden realizations, instantaneously enlightening observations, or otherwise unexpected ideas abruptly jolting your consciousness awake, (Mar. (Mar.2121- April April 19) Aries. Though you're generally on a practical-minded energetic downshift, that doesn't mean there isn't one more brilliant flash of spontaneous wisdom likely to cross your path during the week ahead. But while I encourage you to milk any present-moment insightfulness for as much juice as you can squeeze out, this new bit of data is not an invitation to just-as-suddenly switch up the whole game-plan in the very midst of trying to carry it out. Taurus, as the dynamic duo of Mars-andVenus-in-your-1st continue to encourage your self-asserted progress. You're also still on warning against unexpected verbal explosions, whether they erupt spontaneously from your unsuspecting lips or are instead directed toward you from someone out in left-field. If you have something important to say, I recommend you (Apr. 20- may 20) hold off on it until mid-next-week (after Mercury's in your sign and your ruler Venus has passed its exact Saturn opposition). And let me add that even being in the same place as the person you'd like to say something to, though you may intend to politely hold your tongue. At this point, Gemini, it probably doesn't serve you to bother striving for a safe, diplomatic, or overly amenable pose. Those dubious allies or shit-talking frenemies who don't already enjoy a certain affection or natural affinity for your true demeanor are highly unlikely to change their instinctive indifference or antagonism towards you, just because you've gone out of your way to (May 21-June 21) offer them some conciliatory or coddling remark. Why concern yourself with whether they've selected you to be on their team, or are indirectly icing you out? You ought to be doing the choosing, exercising more Saturn-in-the-7th discernment with regards to which relationships deserve your energy-investment… Public authenticity, no matter how nervewracking your lack of control over others' responses to your honest testimony may be, is your most personally gainful approach to adopt, Cancer. I wish I could reassure you ( June 22-July 22) that the corresponding sense of threat to certain friendships or affiliations you'll likely feel, as a result of daring to speak out, is merely a phantom fear… but, alas, there may be something valid to it.
Dear SOS Dear SOS: I am a modern person who feels people have the right to live their lives as they choose. Because of that I have given my children the right to decide what they want, where they want to go and who their friends are. I have taught them to differentiate right from wrong. I believe my kids are good kids. That example was shown to me recently. We were recently at a family party and my sister-inlaw and brother-in-law came in with their two daughters and I was very surprised to see how they were dressed. The girls were wearing dresses that sat very high on their thighs. And the neckline ran down to the point that the girls’ cleavages were showing to a point that it’s not appropriate at any function let alone at a family function. But their parents seem oblivious to this fact. This gathering was a mixed crowd
Leo, it's a good moment for reminding yourself how this year is astrologically preordained to be a big one for you lion-hearted souls. What has happened in your life since last July (when Jupiter first arrived in Leo)? Have you become better able to glimpse (July23-Aug 23-Aug (July 22)22) beyond whatever limitations previously inhibited your vision, now seeing greater possibilities where before you might've felt stuck? Have you let something go, tried something new, and/or stretched into unfamiliar territory? Jupiter's presence makes this a much more auspicious climate in which to intentionally invest such progressive efforts, but it won't force wonderful developments to unfold without you asserting your initiative. Virgo, it's better not to 'settle back down' into whatever ultimately-restraining reality may feel secure simply because it's familiar. You ought to be looking unapologetically ahead, to a future which could likely feature some qualities quite distinct from what you've (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22) come to expect… if, of course, you're willing to remain on the edge of your seat a while longer.
If one or the other of you isn't as gung-ho about sharing an intimate future together, you need to know that, too… to allow everyone the same fair shake in visualizing an achievable reality for themselves, minus any illusions kept alive by a refusal to just be (Sept. (Sept.23 23-Oct. -Oct.23) 23) truthful with one's intentions. No matter which way it's headed, this unfolding process likely still has a few complications up its sleeve. Regardless, though, you both deserve the relative peace-of-mind which comes from clearly seeing what's in the other's heart, even if it's not what you'd hoped. Don't be afraid to tell a stinging truth about how some existing work-process may be a discouraging drag on your day-to-day effectiveness, Scorpio. Though certain delicate egos could get rubbed wrong by your feedback, your job is not to mindlessly repeat inefficient tasks ad infinitum (or at least I hope it's not). If you'd like to expand (Oct. 24 - Nov. 21) (Oct. 24 - Nov. 21) the organization's reach, your role within it, and/or its overall capacity to produce, you must be willing to endure a few bumpy moments of interpersonal friction in defense of a methodological innovation, resource reallocation, and/or change in habit you believe will increase the efficiency. or

with a 1/4 percent of the crowd made up of Beejis and Baba jis and a ¼ percent made up of young people in their mid twenties or younger and the rest of people were in their forties and fifties. I saw the ladies roll their eyes when they saw these girls. I actually felt embarrassed. But no one said anything to the girls or to their parents. When we came home, I was surprised to have my kids make comments about how the girls’ dresses were not appropriate. They wondered why the parents did not say anything. They said there is a place and a time to wear clothes like this and this was not one of them. They asked me if I would allow them to wear anything like this to a party, where most of the crowd was Indian Beejis, Baba jis, Aunties and Uncles. My answer was no. Now, this is not to say that my girls don’t wear shorts or short dresses
It's time to integrate the two divergent threads of advice I've recently offered you here, Sagittarius. On the one hand, with Mars sticking around your solar 6th for another several weeks, this is one of your best periods all year for hanging in with your day-to-day work. Even if you've already seen tremendous (Nov22 22--Dec. Dec 21) (Nov. 21 progress and/or brought some project to a serviceable resolution, it still behooves you to keep a consistent rhythm… if for no other reason than to counteract your tendency toward a more erratic surgefollowed-by-burnout pattern. This is probably the right week for you to definitively release any leftover remnants of annoyance, outrage, or upset, Capricorn… but with enough careful precision that you do so in a relatively discreet context, protected from those who might misperceive your (Dec 22.22.- Jan. Jan. 19) 19) understandable venting as a battle-cry. I (Dec wouldn't ignore that inner emotional itch, as if pretending not to notice this certain unsettledness is sufficient for neutralizing its charge. Otherwise, it'll force its way out at a less opportune moment—perhaps one that's supposed to be 'fun', but which ends up taking a dark turn once you've downed a couple drinks and/or gotten so comfortable that your guard comes down and the bitterness come out. In order for you to continue to positively grow and evolve in how you relate with others, Aquarius, you must be willing to more directly communicate what's true for you in a given moment… even while not knowing exactly where the conversation's liable to go next, or even where you want it to go, other than somewhere frank (Jan. 20 -Feb. 19) and/or revelatory.Thinking of your stance in that (Jan 20 Feb manner is a distancing technique, making it harder to actually discuss anything with anyone because it implies you already believe you're right. Forget about who's 'right'. Accept that you're coming at this from a very subjectively human (though, therefore, no less valid) angle. ______________ With that proper combination of ongoing discussion and action you've hopefully created in recent weeks, Pisces, you now ought to be ready to surge forward with your work based upon this week's emerging epiphanies about how to put what you've (Feb. 20 -Mar. 20) got to its most effective use. As long as (Feb 20 Mar 20 you're able to skillfully set any personal insecurities aside from your business-minded analysis (because nothing gets in the way of aligning with one's instincts more obtrusively than fear or self-doubt), you should have an increasingly clear understanding of your best nextsteps… and the winning answers are probably pretty simple to grasp, on the concept-level, even if they'll demand some hard work to enact. Don't second-guess this simplicity.
but they are always in decent length and don’t shout to everyone to come look at me. I too am surprised at their parents for not saying anything. My kids questioned why no one said anything to them. Well, I have no answer and I also questioned why no one said anything. These are parents who are always the first to make negative comments about other people’s children. Shocked in Surrey Dear Shocked in Surrey: I have found those who make lots of fuss about other people’s children usually end up with their own kids doing things they have objection too. This might be just the case in this situation. If these people are like you say they are then I am sure that they know what their girls were wearing, and it’s not something they should wear to family parties. But maybe the parents in question have no control over their girls and they don’t listen to what the parents say. You should be glad that you have raised your children well and stop worrying about other people and their children.

He had re c e n t l y teamed up with Britney Spears for his first album in more than 30 years. Shocking: FIR against Salman for assaulting a man? flight when Salman and one of his bodyguard started abusing him and assaulting him. He further alleged that, Salman's bodyguard even snatched some of the the case documents pertaining to deceased BJP leader Gopinath Munde from his possession. Dwivedi also revealed that in order to register the case he approached airport
police, but they too gave a deaf ear to his complaint. Now if recent buzz is to be believed then one of the Mumbai courts has considered the complainants' concern, and has directed the Airport police station to register the case under Sections 392 (robbery), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the
peace), 506 (2) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. Now after seeing this recent happening we are feeling to compelled to say that, "Salman may try to stay away from controversies, but controversy is in no mood of leaving him". Whiten Teeth & Improve Oral Health with 3 Natural Ingredients can help to erase surface stains on your teeth and break down plaque buildup.
Salman may have taken a sigh of relief in the recent past, after his driver's owning the responsibility pertaining to the hit-and-run case. But it looks like for misfortune he is its one of the most adorable child. If recent reports pertaining to Salman's latest rendezvous with bad luck are to be believed then they suggest that a fresh legal trouble is waiting for this Dabangg of Bollywood. And this time it's because of a common man from Mumbai on whose complaint a local court has directed cops to file a complaint against Salman. As per reports, in his complaint some Ravinder Dwivedi has alleged that in November 2014, he was to board a
Americans spend over $1.4 billion dollars in over-the-counter teeth whitening products every year! That’s a whole lot of whitening (and spending) going on. Almost everyone wishes they had whiter teeth. While there are a variety of options available, most people don’t think about natural methods. Britta is sharing one with us that I think is definitely worth a try! Did you know that two powerhouse cleaning ingredients, that you probably already have on hand, can be used as a natural whitening solution for your teeth? Teeth Whitening Solution Baking soda’s gentle abrasiveness
T e e t h Whitening Solution The oxidizing action of hydrogen peroxide allows it to get into all the nooks and crannies of your mouth to fight bacterial buildup. Using hydrogen peroxide for oral health has also been shown to protect against gingivitis, or inflamed/bleeding gums (source). Teeth Whitening Solution Here, the addition of a little Peppermint essential oil provides a minty fresh clean feeling, and also helps to control bad breath! DIY Teeth Whitening Solution 1 Tbsp baking soda 5 drops hydrogen peroxide, 3% 1-3 drops Peppermint essential oil Add all three ingredients to a small bowl and mix well with a small whisk or
a fork. Scoop up a small amount onto your toothbrush to use, using additional amounts as necessary. Teeth whitener 2 Use this mixture once or twice a week to naturally whiten teeth, as well as promote oral health and fresh breath. I’ll admit I was more than a little apprehensive to try out this method. The idea of putting hydrogen peroxide anywhere near my mouth was not very attractive! But I decided I would be a big girl and give it a shot, in the name of science. And wouldn’t you know it, I was very pleasantly surprised!! Using this mixture by no means tastes great, but it’s really not that bad, especially with the addition of the Peppermint oil. And after I rinsed, my whole mouth felt and looked SO clean! I can’t speak to the long-term whitening effects (yet!), but I’ll definitely be incorporating this treatment into my oral care routine. http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.c om/2015/oral-health-3-ingredients.html

VANCOUVER - In advance of Prevention of Violence Against Women Week, April 12-18, 2015, British Columbia Government is putting the Vision for a Violence Free BC strategy into action, by investing $5 million for projects focused on ending violence against women and preventing crime. More than 220 grants, funded through B.C.’s civil forfeiture program, have been provided to groups throughout the province for initiatives that address violence against women, support youth and community crime prevention, support victims through restorative justice programs, and include police education, training and specialized crime prevention equipment. “This year’s civil forfeiture funding is allowing us to support leaders in the community to implement innovative projects that will reach British Columbians in all regions - strengthening and supporting our long-term goal of achieving a violence-free B.C. said Attorney General and Minister of Justice Suzanne Anton. “We know these funds make a real difference for real people, and that they’re effective in putting a dent in crime in B.C. We must - and we will - continue offering these kinds of grants in the coming years to support the community organizations that deliver these critical services as we work towards protecting women in our province from all forms of violence. Among the British Columbians these projects will reach are women who have experienced violence, Aboriginal youth in isolated communities, educators, students, service providers, and restorative justice practitioners. Nearly 70% of the overall funding, for a total of $3.4 million, is being
provided to organizations to begin work this year on the Violence Free BC strategy. Examples include: Abbotsford Community Services, Building Healthy Relationships will receive a $20,000 grant to help pre-teen South Asian girls and boys in grades 5 and 6 who have experienced youth violence in their neighbourhoods within the previous school year. An $84,500 grant will be issued to Vancouver School Board, RSVP Healthy Relationships Transition Project to help transition the RSVP project into 20 schools and support healthy relationship workshops in Vancouver classrooms to support students as they face challenges in the schoolyard, classroom, and amongst family and friends. A $40,000 grant to MOSAIC, will help to support a project to provide training to frontline service providers to implement culturally appropriate prevention strategies and address the unique challenges for immigrant women who are victims of violence.

Tips on Sales and Discounts
Save your receipts when you find a great deal on something. It’s an easy way to keep track of the best deals so you know when to stock up. Always read the fine print on sale posters! Most of the time sale prices apply to certain package sizes. You might accidentally grab the wrong size and end up paying full price. Don’t let specials fool you into buying more than you need. Studies have found that people buy 30%-100% more than on sales like “5 for $10″ than they would have otherwise. Always ask for discounts on dented cans. You might not always get a discount but it doesn’t hurt to ask. If you see an advertised 10 for $10 promotion make sure the original price of the item isn’t less than $1. Products displayed on end caps are not usually on sale. Those spots are sold to companies trying to promote certain items. Not everything shown in the weekly ad is on sale! Always read the fine print so you don’t end up buying something just because you thought it was on sale. Most sales start on Wednesdays. That is also the time that many stores reduce prices on food that is about to expire. Keep an eye out for grocery store clearance sections. Marked down times are not necessarily about to expire – the store may just be discontinuing that item. If you want to stock up on a sale item ask your grocery store if they will place a special order to arrive during the sale so you don’t clear the shelf for other customers. Always ask store managers if you have to buy as many products as a deal advertises in order to get the sale price. For example, if you see a 10 for $10 sale you may not have to buy 10 items to get the sale price.
Apna Roots, April 10th, 2015 By Jillee from California Not all clothes can handle the dryer, but in the jumbled up mess of the laundry, those sneaky clothes somehow manage to make it in there anyway. I had a sweater once (that fit), and could now nicely fit into the wardrobe of my daughter’s American Girl doll, Gabby. Oops! Lessoned learned — don’t buy clothes that can’t handle my laundry skills. Hey, but did you know there is an easy way to “unshrink” them?! It doesn’t require going out and buying some special product, either. Here’s the HOW-TO: Fill a sink with lukewarm water and add a capful of baby shampoo into the water. (Many tutorials I read said to u s e CONDITIONER…but this made more sense to me…so this is what I used.) Let the item soak in the baby shampoo water and gently work it through. This will relax the fibers in the
How To "Unshrink" Your Clothes clothing. Remove the garment from the shampoo water and gently squeeze it out. Do NOT rinse it. Take a large towel and lay the clothing flat on it. Roll the towel up with the clothing inside it. Your goal is to absorb the extra moisture, so your clothing is damp but not wet. Then, get another dry towel and put the piece of clothing out on the dry towel. Gently stretch the clothing item as it lays out to dry.
Continue to do this until the clothing item returns to its original size. Allow the item to air dry on the towel. Being the impatient person that I am, I set up a fan to make the drying time go faster and within about an hour or so they were dry! (Of course the fact that we practically live in the Sahara Desert didn’t hurt either.) T h e anticipation was killing me so I immediately tried them on. (I guess I had some irrational fear that the stretching I did was an illusion?)
19
When I pulled them on and they were back to the exact same length they were when I bought them…I was b e y o n d thrilled!!! (See picture at top.) My “comfy pants” were back! Now I can’t help thinking about all the clothes that got thrown away in the past because I did not know this trick! (There I go…”overthinking” again! lol) So do everyone you know a favor…and spread the word before more innocent items of clothing meet a premature demise! http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.c om-clothes.html

Baking soda is a great choice for treating cold sores because it dries out the sore while also pulling away any acids that might be irritating the area. Simply add a few drops of water to a small amount of baking soda to form a paste. Dab the paste on the affected area, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. After that, rinse it off. Repeat this procedure once or twice a day until the cold sore is gone. Remember, at the end of the day, you are dealing with something that will heal with time. Be patient, and keep the area clean. Even doing just that will ensure that the sore area heals without any problems. Contact your physician if you develop a fever, if your cold sores last longer than two weeks despite treatment, or if cold sores recur frequently during the course of a year.
