Shah Rukh Khan second richest actor in the world Youth Conflict in West Abbotsford-Update Abbotsford-In recent days there have been increased tensions between the two groups of youths involved in an ongoing dispute in West Abbotsford. This dispute had subsided, particularly through the end of July, but began to show signs of volatility again in early August. As a result, the Abbotsford Police Department responded with high visibility enforcement in the area and coordinated meetings with community leaders and family members behind the scenes. Much of the enforcement resulted in interdicting and suppressing potential incidents before they could occur.

Police search for Indo-Canadian man who allegedly sexually assaulted woman on Surrey bus Surrey Now SURREY â&#x20AC;&#x201D; Transit Police hope the public can help identify a man who allegedly groped a young woman on a Surrey bus last week. Last Friday around 1 p.m. a woman boarded a 319 bus at the Scottsdale Exchange and moved to the back of the bus. A short while later, the young woman is said to have seen another passenger yelling at a man to stop staring. As the bus pulled into Newton exchange, police say the woman stood up to get off the bus and felt herself being groped from behind. It appears to be the same man the other passenger had yelled at previously. The woman then left the bus, went to her place of work and called police. The suspect was later seen on video leaving the Scott Road SkyTrain Station, where he is said to have been seen staring at another young woman.

The man is described as an Indo Canadian male, approximately 35 years old and was wearing a long sleeved dark blue cotton shirt, jeans and brown casual shoes. Anyone with information about the suspectâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s identify is asked to call 604515-8300 or text 87-77-77.

Youth Conflict in West Abbotsford-update Continued from page 01 Since May 11, 2014 there have been over 25 reported incidents involving conflict between two groups of youths and young adults in the area of West Abbotsford (see map). Thousands of dollars damage has been done to homes and vehicles in a dispute involving males aged 15 to 25. The majority of persons involved are South Asian. Although the bulk of involve these incidents property damage, the Abbotsford Police Department is extremely concerned that the continuing conflict will result in serious injuries to people directly involved in the dispute and/or their friends and families. These incidents are predominantly taking place late at night and it appears that the conflict involves two groups comprised of 20 or more associates. There have been a small number of actual face-to-face confrontations between members of each group. However, most of the activity to date has involved damage to homes or vehicles

connected in some way to participants in the conflict. This includes property belonging to family and friends. It also appears that there is a pattern of incidents and retaliations over this two month period. This has become a significant public safety issue for Abbotsford. The Major Crime Unit of the Abbotsford Police Department is leading an investigation into the conflict. Privacy commissioner to investigate Mount Polley Mine breach VICTORIA - B.C.'s Information and Privacy Commissioner Elizabeth Denham will investigate whether government should have notified the public about potential risks relating to the Mount Polley mine under section 25 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. "My office has been closely monitoring recent events involving the Mount Polley mine tailings-pond breach, which has significantly impacted the people and lands of B.C.'s Cariboo region. In the aftermath of the breach, concerns are being raised about what government knew about the condition of the Mount Polley mine and whether the public should have been notified of potential risks before the disaster occurred," said Commissioner Denham. "After reviewing all publicly available information about the Mount Polley incident, and in light of a complaint received by my office, I have decided to investigate whether government was legally bound to disclose information about the Mount Polley mine to British Columbians under section 25 of the Freedom of Information

Langley man charged after weapons parts found under child’s booster seat

(CKNW AM) AM980 A 37-year-old Langley man faces charges and possible extradition to the U.S. over allegations he provided weapons parts to organized crime. Sgt. Lindsey Houghton, spokesman for the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, says US authorities contacted them in May over concerns about a gun parts dealer. “His name is Bradley Michael Friesen. He is charged with two counts of weapons trafficking and two counts of possession for the purpose of weapons trafficking, a number of counts related to importing or exporting firearms and prohibited devices related to firearms, as well as two counts of possession of firearms and devices contrary to a prohibition order.” The man was arrested in Osoyoos while he was camping with his five-yearold son. Weapons parts were discovered under the boy’s booster seat. That prohibition order is due to a 2003 attempted murder conviction. Houghton says dozens more charges are pending. He says US authorities also have indictments of their own and have begun the process to try to have Friesen extradited.

Innocents abroad The rule of law is rare in many foreign countries

Thousands of westerners go to live overseas for various reasons — missionary work, adventure, the lure of an exciting job, or just for the experience — and most of the time, their lives unfold uneventfully. What they must never lose sight of, however, is that they cannot expect the rule of law to prevail in some countries, as it does back home. The arrest of Kevin and Julia Garratt, who run a coffee shop in Dandong, China, along with a humanitarian aid group that ferried food and other supplies over the border into North Korea, appears to be a trumped-up case of retaliation by Chinese authorities against Canada. The Garratts, who have lived in China for 30 years, were arrested and charged with spying — a crime for which they could face life imprisonment or the death penalty — just a week after Ottawa blamed Chinese hackers for gaining access to computers at

Let’s hope that Canadian officials are able to negotiate a quick end to the Garratts’ plight with Chinese officials and Bantleman’s in Indonesia — and let their cases serve as an object lesson to anyone who thinks heading overseas with perfectly innocent goals is enough to guarantee safe passage. How Ebola virus disables immune response revealed Washington, Aug 14 (ANI): A new study has revealed how Ebola blocks and disables the body's natural immune response, as understanding how the virus disarms immune defenses will be crucial in the development of new treatments for the disease. Researchers at Washington University School of Medicine along with collaborators from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas have found how Ebola protein VP24 disrupts the cell's innate immune response, a crucial early step on the virus's path to causing deadly disease. Gaya Amarasinghe said that they have known for a long time that infection with Ebola obstructs an important immune compound called interferon and now they know how

Ebola does this, and that can guide the development of new treatments. According to the researchers, VP24 works by preventing the transcription factor STAT1, which carries interferon's antiviral message, from entering the nucleus and initiating an immune response. As part of a rapid immune response, the cell allows STAT1 an

"emergency access lane" to the nucleus. Rather than block all nuclear transfer, however, VP24 focuses on blocking STAT1's "emergency access lane." Researchers said that normally interferon causes STAT1 to enter the cell nucleus, where it activates the genes for hundreds of proteins involved in antiviral responses, but when VP24 is attached to STAT1, it can't get into the nucleus. The study also found that one of the key reasons that Ebola virus is so deadly is because it disrupts the body's immune response to the infection and figuring out how VP24 promotes this disruption will suggest new ways to defeat the virus. It was recently announced that Jyoti Amge, world’s smallest living woman, will join the cast of ‘American Horror Story’ in season 4. Season four of the series, subtitled Freak Show, would be set in Jupiter, Fla., in the 1950s, with Jessica Lange in the lead role, the Hollywood Reporter reported. Joyti will have a four-epi sode arc in the show, playing the mother to GaboureySidibe’s character. AHS: Freak Show debuts in October; however a specific date has not yet been announced. Joyti , born on 16 December, 1993, in Nagpur Jyoti measures 61.95 cm (2 ft) tall, making her shorter than the average two-year-old child. She weighs just 11lb (5 kg). Joyti has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia and will not grow any taller than her current height.
