Charging phone in bedroom can make you fat, scientists say London, (ANI): A new study has revealed that charging your phone in your bedroom could make you put on weight, as the artificial light from phone screens, street lights, laptops or television stops the body generating a hormone that combats obesity. Professor Ahmad Agil, who led the study, said the epidemic is primarily caused by humans’ failure to adapt to modern environments, sedentary lifestyles, higher consumption of highcalorie processed food and excessive exposure to artificial lightning reducing melatonin levels. Professor Agil said: "Currently this process is frequently interrupted, as a result of excessive exposure to artificial lightning during the night, which reduces the levels of endogenous melatonin. "For instance, many people are in the habit of sleeping with their lamps, televisions or their computers switched on, or with the blinds drawn up. "For all these reasons, it is important to try to sleep in absolute darkness, to avoid interference in the generation of melatonin."The hormone is found in particularly high quantities in spices, herbs, tea, coffee, fruit, nuts and seeds.

B.C. takes first step in renewed fight against distracted driving Three points and $167 fine VICTORIA - The Province is taking a first step in what will be a two-part approach to protect British Columbians from distracted drivers on roads and highways. First, effective Oct. 20, 2014, amendments to the Motor Vehicle Act regulations will increase the driver penalty points from zero to three for drivers who are caught talking on a handheld device while driving. This new penalty, which also covers infractions like watching a DVD, programming a phone’s GPS, and operating hand-held audio players, is being combined with the $167 fine already in place and is now consistent with the three points and $167 fine currently given to drivers for texting. Penalty points remain on a person’s driving record for five years and can result in further penalties, including prohibitions from driving. Specifically, any driver with more than three points has to pay a penalty premium on their insurance, starting at $175, and escalating if they receive more penalty points. The penalty for anyone who receives more than one distracted driving ticket in a year is at least $634 the equivalent of two fines and a $300

penalty premium for six points. As points accrue, the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles may also identify a driver as high risk and monitor or prohibit them under the Driver Improvement Program (DIP). For the second part of B.C.’s approach, the Province continues to look at increased fines for distracted driving and work is underway to determine what
an appropriate amount would be. B.C. will continue to monitor the effectiveness of similar legislation in other jurisdictions and their fine amounts. Going forward, the government will also be reviewing and looking to adjust the overall fine structure in the MVA, including specifically those fines for distracted driving and other riskbased offences.
Khalsa Diwan Society to stay under moderate control Vancouver- The oldest Sikh Society’s control will likely stay under the leadership of the Moderate Group. Khalsa Diwan Society (Ross Street), the oldest Sikh Society in Canada was set to have election in November this year. The last date to submit nomination papers was on October 8th and this year only one slate was filed by the moderates under Kuldip Singh Thandi. The opposing group who has been trying to make memberships, failed to submit document before the end of the day. For this year’s election 8500 memberships have been registered and out of that 7000 members claim to support the moderate group. It is worth mentioning, there was a time when both Khalsa Diwan Society and Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara were both under the control of the Fundamentalist Groups but the moderates united together to free the temples and were able to take control of the Guru Nanak Sikh temple in Surrey and then proceeded to free the
Khalsa Diwan Society (Ross Street) Gurdwara in Vancouver. Moderate Group’s infighting in Surrey resulted in the loss of Guru Nanak Sikh temple’s control, once again to the Fundamentalist Group. Since their victory the group has made every attempt to gain the control of the Khalsa Diwan Society. To their credit Khalsa Diwan Society’s executive have managed to keep Vancouver temple away from the hands of the Fundamentalists. So far it looks like Khalsa Diwan Society will stay under the moderate control. Hopefully, this will teach the Moderates in Surrey a lesson on how to stay together.

Those targets ranged from an unnamed shopping mall to attacks on Americans or the U.S. Embassy, NBC said. In the mall plan, the group allegedly discussed mowing down people on crowded escalators until police arrived, but the NBC report said the plan was disrupted. A spokesman for Blaney said in response to the NBC report that he could not comment on "operational matters of national security." "I can say that security agencies are constantly evaluating the terrorist threat and taking action to protect Canadians," Jason Tamming told The Canadian Press in an email Wednesday night. The federal government has brought in a law that allows police to arrest extremist travellers before they leave Canada. But sometimes authorities have to be creative due to lack of evidence, Paulson indicated. Federal security agencies — including the RCMP, Canada Border Services Agency and Passport Canada — meet regularly to devise means of stopping these travellers, laying charges "against at least five individuals" for passport misuse, Paulson said. The Mounties are also developing an intervention program that would engage police and local communities to deal with people at risk of turning to extremism.
RCMP investigating suspected extremists heading abroad, returning from fights By Jim Bronskill, The Canadian Press
OTTAWA - The RCMP has about 63 active security investigations on 90 suspected extremists who intend to join fights abroad or who have returned to Canada, said Bob Paulson, commissioner of the national police force. "The pace and tempo of operations is quite brisk," Paulson told the Commons public safety committee on Wednesday. He quickly added: "It's nothing that I think that Canadians need to be alarmed about." Paulson said the RCMP was "managing, through our collective efforts," a response that would be "appropriate" to the nature of the suspected offences. Public Safety Minister Steven Blaney conveyed a sterner message. "Let me be clear: these individuals, posing a threat to our security at home, have violated Canadian law," Blaney told MPs on the committee. The Mounties will "seek to put them behind bars where they belong," he added. "Barbarity is not a Canadian value and will never ever be one." A recent federal report said the government knew of more than 130 individuals with Canadian connections who were abroad and suspected of supporting terror-related activities.
It said the government was aware of about 80 such people who had returned to Canada. As extremists affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant wage guerrilla-style battles in war-stricken Syria and parts of Iraq, western nations are warning that combatants could arrive home harbouring violent intentions. CSIS director Michel Coulombe noted that fighters from many western countries with trusted passports could enter Canada easily with the aim of carrying out an attack. "We don't want to sound alarmist. We're telling people that they should go about their daily life, but we have to be vigilant," Coulombe said. He said CSIS knows where the 80 returnees to Canada are. And while "all of them potentially could be a threat,"
some were involved not in armed conflict abroad but terroristrelated activities such as fundraising and propaganda in an array of countries i n c l u d i n g Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Lebanon and regions such as North Africa. "So I don't want people to believe that we have 80 returnees who were hard fighters in Iraq and Syria, because that is not the picture we have at the moment," Coulombe said. Later Wednesday, an NBC News report quoted unidentified U.S. intelligence officials as saying Canadian authorities have heard would-be terrorists discussing potential ISILinspired "knife and gun" attacks against Canadian and U.S. targets in Canada. While offering no details, Blaney told MPs the government would bring forward new measures to help monitor suspected terrorists and deal with "those Canadians who have literally been brainwashed to take part in this evil cause." "They will face the full force of the law."

84% of Canadians support assisted dying, new poll shows Approximately 84 per cent of Canadians support assisted dying, a new survey commissioned by Dying With Dignity Canada shows. The poll, conducted by Ipsos Reid, asked respondents if a physician should be able to help a terminally ill person end their life if they are a competent adult who is suffering and repeatedly asks for help to end their life. The results, published by advocacy group Dying With Dignity Canada on Wednesday, showed that support for assisted dying was highest in Nova Scotia (89 per cent) and lowest in Saskatchewan and Manitoba (79 per cent). Support by region: • British Columbia: 87 per cent • Alberta: 82 per cent • Ontario: 85 per cent • Quebec: 84 per cent The results send a “clear signal” that it’s time to recognize the rights of the terminally ill to end their lives, says Wanda Morris, CEO of Dying With Dignity Canada. “No matter how you slice and dice the data across every conceivable demographic, a majority of Canadians are in support of assisted dying,” Morris told CTV News Channel on Wednesday. The poll, which surveyed 2,515
Canadians, also found that most Canadians generally agree with the concept of assisted dying. It also found that 91 per cent of Canadians feel that palliative care doesn’t do enough for the terminally ill. Support among some religious communities was also substantial, with 80 per cent of Christians and 83 per cent of Catholics responding that they agreed with legalizing assisted dying. “Clearly, we have a disconnect between what a few leaders in those congregations are saying, and what the vast majority of the faithful say,” Morris said. Assisted suicide and euthanasia are illegal under Canada’s Criminal Code. The Conservative government has insisted it has no intention of changing the law. In June, Quebec became the first

Canadian province to pass right-to-die legislation, but Ottawa has said it could challenge the legislation. A report by the Canadian Medical Association released earlier this year suggested that Canadians are divided on legal reforms regarding assisted suicide. University of Toronto bioethicist Kerry Bowman says that while support for assisted dying has risen “substantially” over the past 20 years, there remains “some misunderstanding” among the population about the concept of assisted suicide.
Low sexual desire harmful to women New study revealed that low sexual desires are very common in women of both pre and post menopausal stage. Researcher Dr. Sheryl A. Kingsberg, found that more than onequarter of premenopausal and one-third of post-menopausal women were very dissatisfied with their current level of sexual desire. Most did not seek medical help. The study also suggested that not correcting this can cause personal distress, harm relationships, and have a negative impact on body image and self confidence.
PICS Society raises $150,000 for new multicultural senior home in Surrey SURREY, – Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society raised $150,000 at their radiothon fundraiser which was held on October 2nd on Radio India 1600AM, from 6am10pm. All proceeds will go towards building a new Multicultural Long-Term Care Home. A new Multicultural LongTerm Care Home in Surrey is much needed and the community is in full support. The existing PICS Society care home has been well-received and there has been a long waiting list for quite some time. This is an indication that building another PICS Society care home will fulfill community needs. “I’m pleased with the generous support of the community towards this essential project,” says Charan Gill, CEO of PICS Society. “We received endless phone calls with donations to build the home and
we cannot be more appreciative. Since this radiothon was successful, we’ll be hosting another one in November on Spice Radio. If we keep up with this energy, I have no doubt we’ll reach our funding goal by next year.” PICS Society is currently seeking 3-4 acres of land that’s properly zoned and prepared to build the Multicultural Long-Term Care Home. This program will be a 125 bed long-term facility that’s culturally sensitive and staffed with bilingual caretakers who can provide adequate care for the seniors. Culturally chosen foods will be honoured as well as traditions and religious customs. Services will be offered to ensure the clients’ safety and quality of life. Some of the services include 24 hour emergency response, social, leisure & recreational activities, housekeeping, and assistance with daily living tasks.
First Ebola patient diagnosed in the U.S. dies in hospital DALLAS — The first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States died Wednesday morning in a Dallas hospital Wednesday, a hospital spokesman said. Thomas Eric Duncan was pronounced dead at 7:51 a.m. at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, where he was admitted Sept. 28 and has been kept in isolation, according to spokesman Wendell Watson. Duncan’s condition was changed on Saturday from serious to critical. Duncan carried the deadly virus with him from his home in Liberia, though he showed no signs when he left for the United States. He arrived in Dallas Sept. 20 and fell sick a few days later. Others in Dallas still are being monitored as health officials try to contain the virus that has ravaged West Africa, with more than 3,400 people reported dead. They also trying to tamp down anxiety among residents frightened of contracting Ebola, though the disease can be spread only through direct contact with the bodily fluids of an already sick person. Health officials have identified 10 people, including seven health workers, who had direct contact with Duncan while he was contagious. Another 38 people also may have come into contact with him. The four people living in the northeast Dallas apartment where Duncan stayed have been isolated in a private residence. Everyone who potentially had contact with Duncan will be monitored for 21 days, the normal incubation period for the disease. Duncan passed an airport health screening in Liberia, where doctors took his temperature and found no other signs of Ebola symptoms. But a few days after he arrived, he began to have a fever, headache and abdominal pain. He went to the emergency room of Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas on Sept. 24, but was sent home. By Sept. 27, his condition had worsened. An ambulance that day took him back to the hospital, where he stayed in isolation. The hospital has changed its explanation several times about when Duncan arrived and what he said about his travel history. It has acknowledged that Duncan told them on his first visit that he came from West Africa.

The rise of ISIL and the extraordinary advances it has made on the battlefield, coupled with its appeal to many young Muslims, has Western governments fighting on two fronts: as they confront ISIL on the battlefield, they must also find ways to steer potential recruits away from the group. Governments are weighing different strategies to deal with this problem. One way is to acknowledge the anger and frustration that drives some of these young men, and find a way to deal with them. Western governments may consider their policies in the Muslim world to be noble and well-intentioned, but make no mistake, there are many who believe – rightly or wrongly – that the West has a deep antipathy toward Muslims. If this were not so, one young man asked me recently during a random discussion, why is it that the only countries that get bombed time and again by Western countries are Muslim ones? Just as Western countries feel the pain of fellow Christians around the world, he said, so do Muslims about
isn’t doing anybody any favours. Islamist extremists pose a threat to much of the world, and asking officials to avoid labelling the danger for what it is, is going to do nothing to address the growing security risk. The handbook, United Against Terrorism, was produced by the Islamic Social Services Association, the National Council of Canadian Muslims and other groups. It recommends law enforcement officers no longer use terms that create “false linkages between Islam and terrorism.” Out of favour are terms such as “Islamist terrorism,” “Islamicism” and “Islamic extremism.” The groups also bristle at using the word “jihadis” to describe terrorists. Jihad is an Arabic term meaning “striving, struggling and exertion in the path of good,” we’re told. Not according to the Canadian Oxford Dictionary, it’s not. Jihad is “a holy war undertaken by Muslims for the propagation or defence of Islam,” according to the reference book. It appears the groups want to write their own dictionary. If anyone knows about the dangers of Islamist radicalization, it’s Calgarians, who have seen more than 30 community members recruited by foreign terror groups, according to police estimates. Among them is Farah Mohamed Shirdon, a former movie theatre employee who was once thought to have been killed while serving with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS). “God willing, we will make some attacks in New York soon, a lot of brothers are mobilizing there right now in the West, thanks to
their kin. Another youngster wondered what Western leaders expect Muslims to do every time a Muslim country is bombed – hold a parade and thank the bombers for a job well done? The fact is, many Muslims don’t like Western policies, but never express their views in public for fear of being targeted. They keep their thoughts to themselves, but inevitably, some of the loners end up on the Internet, where recruiters might tell them: “We’ve been where you are. We understand what you are going through. That’s why we are here. Come join us and do something about it.” The problem is real, and it is why prescriptions like the one offered by British Prime Minister David Cameron to clamp down on people whose “worldview” is considered extremist, are a slippery slope we must avoid. “We know this worldview. The peddling of lies: that 9/11 was a Jewish plot and the 7/7 London attacks were staged. The idea that Muslims are persecuted all over the world as a deliberate act of Western policy. The concept of an inevitable clash of civilization. We must be clear: to defeat the ideology of extremism we must deal with all forms of extremism – not just violent extremism,” Cameron told the UN last month. Continued on Page 07
Allah,” he told the U.S. website Vice.com from Iraq recently. Shirdon denies he was drawn into the terrorist group by recruiters, but religion appears to have played a part. “No one recruited me. Actually, no one spoke a single word to me. All I did, I opened the newspaper, I read the Qur’an. Very easy,” he said. Other Calgariansturned-terrorists shared a downtown apartment above a small Islamic centre, which they frequented for a time at 8th Street and 8th

people and injuring 41 others. The producers of the handbook obviously have larger aims than simply dictating what language law officers can use to describe the threat. To its credit, the handbook encourages Muslims to alert elders so they can take action against anyone with extremist views, and urges them to be vigilant about websites that manipulate Islamic teachings. Like many in the Muslim community, the handbook’s backers want to build bridges and ensure that their

religion is seen as a peaceful force, not a destructive one. It’s fair to say that most Canadians understand that the great majority of Muslims are an asset to the country and make strong friends and neighbours. But in wanting to paper over the wrongdoers within their religion by using sugar-coated phrases, the groups do themselves and Canadians a disservice. Thankfully, it seems that police aren’t so easily cowed.

Girl went to daycare with 249 bags of heroin in backpack, gave them to friends thinking they were candy: police By Associated Press SELBYVILLE, Del. — Authorities say a four-year-old girl in Delaware passed out packets of heroin she found in her mother’s backpack to her daycare mates, thinking they contained candy. The Delaware State Police said in a news release that the girl found the bags Monday in a backpack her mom gave her to use after hers was ruined by a family pet. The pack contained 249 bags of heroin weighing 3.7 grams. Daycare providers at the Hickory Tree Child Care Center in Selbyville called police when they noticed some children with the bags. The girl’s mother is 30-year-old Ashley Tull of Selbyville. She faces charges of maintaining a drug property and endangering the welfare of a child. A woman who answered a telephone number listed to Tull said she wasn’t in and hung up.

It's not a crime to challenge Western worldview Continued from page 06 Cameron is suggesting that Muslims who articulate a view of the world that is different from what the government believes are dangerous and must be punished, never mind the right to free speech. And never mind that the idea of a clash of civilizations wasn’t mooted by Muslim clerics. The problem with Cameron’s prescription is that it is precisely the kind that could drive more disaffected people underground. If people who already feel alienated are now going to be targeted for not saying the right things or for not seeing the
world the way government sees it, we are heading for more trouble. Cameron is right when he says that “we need to argue that prophecies of a global war of religion pitting Muslims against the rest of the world are nonsense.” But how do we do that? We do it through vigorous debate, not by shutting down views the government doesn’t like. Those who preach hate and counsel the killing of innocents should be given no quarter. But criticizing the West should not be a crime, because there is a lot to criticize. In a rare moment of candour in
2002, then British foreign secretary Jack Straw told the New Statesman: “A lot of the problems we are having to deal with now – I have to deal with now – are a consequence of our colonial past … an interesting history for us, but not an entirely honourable one.” The best way to deal with discontent that breeds violence is to create channels and forums in schools, universities, wherever – where we can challenge and be challenged on our views about one another. Who knows, we may end up changing some minds.
The sudoku puzzle is mostly a 9-by9 grid made up of 3-by-3 subgrids. Some cells already contain numbers, known as givens. The goal is to fill in the empty cells, one number in each, so that each column, row, and region contains the numbers 1 through 9 exactly once. Each number in the solution therefore occurs only once. in each of three "directions". Or you can say there is only one rule. Every row, every column and every 3-by-3 subgrid should contain digits 1 to

New drug target developed that can help fight against Ebola virus Researchers have recently developed a new drug target in the Ebola virus that could be used against it to fight the disease. University of Utah biochemists have produced a molecule, known as a peptide mimic that displays a functionally critical region of the virus that is universally conserved in all known species of Ebola. This new tool could be used as a drug target in the discovery of anti-Ebola agents that are effective against all known strains and likely future strains.
The scientists designed peptide mimics of a highly conserved region in the Ebola protein that controls entry of the virus into the human host cell, initiating infection. They were able to demonstrate this
peptide target was suitable for use in high-throughput drug screens. These kinds of screens allow rapid identification of potential new drugs from billions of possible candidates. Debra Eckert, Ph.D., said
that although the current push of clinical trials would hopefully lead to an effective treatment for the Zaire species causing the present epidemic, the same treatments are unlikely to be effective against future outbreaks of a different or new Ebola species. Development of a broadly acting therapy is an important long-term goal that would allow cost-effective stockpiling of a universal Ebola treatment, she further added. The study is published in online edition of Protein Science.(ANI)

Fresno trucking company hit with $3.5 million verdict BY PABLO LOPEZ The Fresno Bee A jury has returned a $3.5 million verdict against a Fresno trucking company after finding it negligent in the death of a driver who died inside his burning truck on a lonely stretch of Interstate 40 in New Mexico four years ago. In Fresno County Superior Court, the jury found in favor of the family of AmarjitKhunkhun, 43, who died in March 2010 near San Jon, New Mexico, just west of the Texas border. Fluid leaking from the transmission onto hot truck parts ignited a fire underneath the cab of the truck that Khunkhun had been driving, said Bill Robins, the lead attorney for Khunkhun’s family. The verdict was against the owners of the truck — Jaswinder Gill and her husband, Avtar Gill, who operate GMG Trucking of Fresno. The jury, which deliberated about four hours, announced its verdict Friday in Judge Kristi Kapetan’s courtroom after hearing a
month’s worth of testimony. Fresno attorney Paul Hager, who represented the Gills, said his clients could appeal. Robins said Avtar Gill had exchanged trucks with Khunkhun in Texas during the early hours of March 23, 2010. Khunkhun had traveled about 135 miles west before the truck caught fire, Robins said. The trucking company contended that the fire had started in the cab. Robins said New Mexico fire officials incorrectly concluded that Khunkhun had used a stove inside the cab, but no stove or propane was found in the truck’s charred remains. Hager said there was evidence that Khunkhun may have been sleeping when the fire happened. His body was found on a mattress in the sleeping quarters of the cab. His wallet was underneath the mattress, Hager said. Hager said that Khunkhun had asked Avtar Gill to switch trucks because he wasn’t feeling well and he wanted to return home.
Because no one witnessed Khunkhun’s death, the trial turned into a battle of experts to determine what happened. Experts who testified on behalf of the Khunkhuns said that Avtar Gill and the trucking company had violated federal regulations in their maintenance and inspection of the truck. Robins said the defendants were aware of the transmission leak but failed to fix it before allowing Khunkhun to drive the truck. The crux of the defense was this: In the trucking industry, drivers are responsible for inspecting their big rigs before taking off, Hager said. If a big rig isn’t safe to drive, a driver has a duty not to take it on the road for the safety of others, he said. Besides, Hager said, if the transmission was broken, it would have made weird sounds that should have caused Khunkhun to pull over and inspect it. And if a fire broke out, Khunkhun should have seen the smoke and gotten out of the cab, Hager said. The defense theory was that

Khunkhun had pulled over for the night, cooked a meal and went to sleep with a stove still on, Hager said. Because the jury found Khunkhun “comparatively negligent,” the verdict was reduced by 15%, Robins said. Despite the reduction, the jury award is nearly $3 million to Khunkhun’s wife and three children, who live in San Jose, he said. “A Fresno jury sent a clear message to the trucking industry that those companies who choose not to follow safety rules will be held accountable for the harm that they cause,” said Robins, of Santa Monica. He was assisted by attorney Hector Longoria of Houston and attorney Gurinder Mann of San Jose. Not only is Khunkhun’s family grateful that the jury vindicated him, but “our hope is that the jury’s message will save lives in California and elsewhere, so that others will not suffer this tremendous loss,” Robins said.

SURREY — Mayoral candidate Barinder Rasode has revealed her “One Surrey” team. Rasode’s slate is made up of candidates with backgrounds from law enforcement, business, community advocacy and farming. “The One Surrey team is a group of independent thinkers who are united by their shared goal of creating a safe, vibrant and prosperous city,” Rasode said. Her team is made up of candidates from law enforcement, business, community advocacy and farming. “Complacency has led to a culture of neglect in Surrey, and our citizens deserve better,” said Rasode. Some of those eyeing council seats as part of Rasode’s team have announced their candidacy already and some have not. Restaurant manager Maz Artang, farmer Mike Bose and realtor Narima Dela Cruze have already announced their intentions to run for the city election with Rasode. Others to join Rasode team are; A RCMP officer for more than 35 years, Merv Bayda, The chief operating officer of the Surrey and Delta golf clubs and is president of Cloverdale Chamber of Commerce, Darlene Bowyer and chief operating officer of the Surrey and Delta golf clubs and is president of Cloverdale Chamber of Commerce, Brian Young.
Barinder Rasode split from her Surrey First team earlier this year to sit as an independent, claiming her teammates had become increasingly hostile after she spoke out about needing to do more on the public safety front. “Why a team now? I think that’s a big one, because I stepped away as an independent and want independent voices,” Rasode acknowledged during an interview at her community hub on Tuesday. “I think that looking at the personalities that have formed the team of One Surrey, one thing that speaks is their record on advocacy in the community,” she said, adding, “the culture of complacency where you hand the torch down to insiders is not something that people want.” Last week, Rasode announced a 10-point plan to crack down on crime, which was developed in collaboration with senior law enforcement professionals, including Delta Police Chief Jim Cessford.

Horoscope
Apna Roots, October 10th, 2014
You now enter a period of your life of great confusion. You are getting information and data from several sources many of which are conflicting. You are (Mar.2121- April April 19) 19) (Mar. trying to sort it all out so it makes it a bit logical. Good luck, because those who we all depend on, are doing the same thing. All those you have trusted in the past, are showing several routes to follow always leading to their needed end.
(Apr. 20- may 20)
A workable list of world wide problems will not help you in any way. This week, you are on your own for decisions and ’what ever’. (July 23-Aug 22) Stay strong and you will not go wrong. (July 23-Aug 22) Money will flow into and out of your romance. You hav Someone else yo coffers. Expect a wide swing which will depend on the crazy situations that exists over the world. You just don’t know which group you shall cheer on to their successful end. Too crazy!
You have the same problem as several other signs this week as the world situation will remain the same. Both you and the effected signs are in the ‘same boat’, waiting for calmer waters to save us this upheaval. Your patience will be working overtime to carry (Nov22 22--Dec. Dec 21) (Nov. 21 you through this worldwide mess of trouble. Hold any funds you have and wait for a big deal in the fall months. It is sure to get better.
In a normal time you should be establishing goals for yourself. It would be swell to decide where you want to be in two years but that may have to be put on a hold as we have the same question. I would suggest (Aug. 23 perhaps a new business or home if funds Sept. 22) allow it. The worldwide upheaval of both the market and confused people will have and affect. It is a ripe time for high impact scams now.
A big investment happens next September. I tell you now so you can prepare for a gigantic deal. I trust that you will grab that big investment next fall. If the worldwide problem is solved I think all will return to (Dec 22.22.- Jan. Jan. 19) 19) (Dec normal. Odd times call upon odd actions. t Next September you should be investing in something big and you will need the money for that SAVE BIG! Dig down in that hiding place for it.
This would be the week to do something nice and exciting for yourself. At this stage of the game I would suggest, eliminate all outside sources of information. It will all be shaded. Delve in on your own and see if you (Sept. 23 -Oct. 23) can gather a logical plan of action. It’s a (Sept. 23 -Oct. 23) dangerous time for all of us. Physic or not, you are almost all alone. In ’normal’ times it would be suggested a change of personal things.
You have had a slow planet in your sign. I would suggest an artistic hobby or work in that area. It takes up the slack. Your ESP ability will do. It should help carry you through this world oddity of a slowdown. Your (Jan. 20 -Feb. 19) ability of psychiatry and healing is of help. (Jan. 20 -Feb. Practice that ESP and healing to get a start over this hump. Friends do not understand as well. Hold their hand to help get them through. ______________ You may find this to be difficult but you
You are trying your hardest to make some logical sense of the information you have received from trusted sources. Past experience is of no help at all. You are now in a quandary. Which way shall I turn? You are not alone with this problem. Of several choices offered, they do not lead you to the way you wished to go. Quickly all of the world problems have come home to your
very own roost. Watch out for those “get rich” schemes. Those with that scam will use any method, legal or not to get their ‘customers’. They will search out those who consider ‘the end is near’ as they are of the type who feel no long term commitment to any contract. In (May 21-June 21) this mess a planet enters your money (May 21-June 21) house. Funds come and go faster than you notice. That planet will also give money opportunities.
_______________
Now that a planet has moved into your sign you will find that your lack of funds will not bother as much as in the past. You have just discovered several other things that ( June 22-July 22) need your attention. World problems not previously considered are now on your menu. Those trusted in the past, are of little help to you now. You are about to make the decision by yourself without their help as in the past.
Again, during “normal’ times a suggestion to plan ahead to do a period of travel. Forget that idea for now. Travel this week is still suffering worldwide interruption and you could be stranded miles from home. Bide your time, you will travel (Oct. 24 - Nov. 21) again when this whole mess is squared (Oct 24 Nov 21) away. Keeping this Horoscope in ‘real time’ tells you little of a possible love life, but wait. Next week I do promise.
will need to relax this week. Hypertension is possible and you certainly want to avoid it. A planet has now moved into an (Feb. 20 -Mar. 20) excellent aspect to your sign. This means (Feb 20 Mar 20 you should be successful in whatever action you decide to take. It also applies to whatever changes you want to make in the next two months. Carefully watch your health and remain strong.

mobility. In many ways, it's nice to be strapped to this person, even when he stumbles, and so we have to figure out a way to run the race. You said that taking this job was his decision to make, and you were "confident he'd make the right one." This implies that if he made the "wrong" choice - the one you disagreed with then it wasn't his decision to make after all. The fact is, you both have a say, but he has more voting power because he'd be the one on the job every day. You can only tell him, as you put it, what "makes sense" (to you), and what you believe is best for you and your kids. If you push the issue, he may take the job only because it means so much to you, and resent you for it. You've discussed this situation few times now. Talk it over again. Perhaps there are other reasons that the job is objectionable to him. If he still doesn't want this new position, you need to respect his decision. He needs to understand, however, that something must be done to make up for the financial shortfall. Perhaps you or he should look for part-time work. The bottom line is that you must work this out together. It's the only way to win the race, or at least make it across the finish line.
Sridevi drives straight to Tabu's house after watching 'Haider' Haider may have divided audiences depending on their political views, but Vishal Bharadwaj's take on 'Hamlet' seems to have found unequivocal champions in industry legend Sridevi and her daughter Jhanvi. The two, who caught the movie at an Andheri multiplex on Saturday evening, were so impressed by Tabu's take on Shakespeare's Gertrude that they drove straight to the actor's Lokhandwala residence to give their rave reviews first hand. Tabu was pleasantly surprised when she saw her fawning neighbours at the door especially considering the yesteryear actor doesn't move in the same social circles as her. Sridevi then went on to describe and dissect the scenes that impressed her the most as an overwhelmed Tabu looked on. The conversation, we are told, continued well into the night as mother and daughter even stayed back for dinner. High praise indeed.

Lemon and Thyme Roast Turkey With White Wine Gravy By The Canadian Living Test Kitchen This lemon-kissed herbed turkey is equally suitable for a fancy affair or a casual family get-together. Choose a goodquality white wine to use in the gravy, and serve the rest of the bottle to guests at the table. Lemon and Thyme Roast Turkey With White Wine Gravy Prep time 1 hour Total time 4 hours 30 minutes Portion size 16 to 18 servings Ingredients1 turkey, (7 to 9 kg)10 sprigs fresh thyme8 cloves garlic3/4 cup (175 mL) dry white wine2-1/2 cups (625 mL) sodium-reduced chicken

broth1/2 cup (125 mL) allpurpose flourLemon and Thyme Butter:1/4 cup (60 mL) butter, softened1 tsp (5 mL) chopped fresh thyme1/2 tsp (2 mL)
grated lemon zest1/2 tsp (2 mL) each salt and pepper. Preparation Lemon and Thyme Butter: In small bowl, stir together
butter, thyme, lemon zest, salt and pepper; set aside. Remove giblets and neck from turkey; placeneckinroastingpan.Twistwi ngs and tuck behind back. Fill turkey cavity with thyme and garlic. Place turkey, breast side up, on rack in roasting pan; rub all over with butter mixture. Roast in 325F (160C) oven, basting every 45 minutes, until instant-read thermometer inserted in thickest part of breast reads 170F (77C), about 3-1/2 hours. Wearing oven mitts and using tongs, gently tip turkey, pouring any juices from cavity into roasting pan. Transfer turkey to platter; tent loosely with foil. Let stand for 30
minutes before carving. Meanwhile, discard turkey neck. Pour juices from roasting pan into heatproof bowl. Skim off and discard fat; set aside. Stir wine into roasting pan; bring to boil over medium-high heat. Continue to boil for 1 minute, scraping up any browned bits from bottom of pan. Whisk broth with flour until smooth; whisk into roasting pan along with reserved turkey juices. Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer, whisking often, until thickened, 5 to 8 minutes. Strain into gravy dish; serve with turkey. Tip from the Test Kitchen: Slice and refrigerate leftover turkey meat in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 weeks. Tip from the Test Kitchen: You can roast your turkey in special plastic cooking bags available in your grocery stores. A turkey baked in a cooking bag is moist and all the liquid stays in the bag. But you must make sure you follow the directors on the bag about making the hole on the top of the bag is very important.

Even dubbed versions of 'Bang Bang!' hit the bull's eye The Tamil and Telugu versions of Hrithik Roshan-starrer "Bang Bang!", which released Oct 2, jointly raked in over Rs.3 crore at the box office in five days. It's said to be the highest for a dubbed Hindi film. "While the Telugu version collected about Rs.2.1 crore, the Tamil version of the film minted Rs.97 lakh. This is the best ever opening for a dubbed Hindi film," trade analyst Trinath told IANS. "The long festival weekend helped the film register a big opening. 'Bang Bang!' even surpassed Hrithik's 'Krrish 3', which had a very successful run in the dubbed versions as well," he said. Siddharth Anand-directed "Bang Bang!" has collected Rs.201.51 crore from all its versions in five days
worldwide. An out-and-out action entertainer, the film also features Katrina Kaif, Danny Denzongpa, Jaaved Jaaferi, Deepti Naval, Kanwaljit Singh and Jimmy Sheirgill. Santa Banta
Another foreign import in Bollywood
Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha are in a relationship By Priya Gupta Well, this is not a publicity stunt for their upcoming film Tevar, though chachu Sanjay Kapoor can take some credit for casting these young stars in his film. We have learnt from reliable sources that the tall, dark and handsome Arjun Kapoor and the simple and beautiful Sonakshi Sinha are in love with each other. They are not just neighbours, but we have learnt that over the last few months, Arjun and Sonakshi have even taken holidays together and have often gone out together for films. While they have so far managed to keep their relationship under wraps from the outside world, their families and friends are aware of their relationship. Having known Arjun and Sonakshi independently, I can tell you that they
