"The work of Vasilev abounds with figuration, especially for defining the female figure, which dominates in all its arts, but with two dimensionality that really enriches the artistic communication of the viewer with his works, so the outcome of all this is a lavishly Byzantine painting "- said on the opening of the exhibition Dragi HadjiNikolov, an artist from Gevgelija. This exhibition in Gevgelija is his 20th solo, and behind them there are over 20 group exhibitions in Skopje Museum for Contemporary Art, Serbia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Poland, and artistic world capital - Paris, France. 10th INTERNATIONAL ART COMMUNE APOLLONIA 2011

"The success of the colony, and accomplished arts are due primarily to the founder of the FoundaАdress: tion, Mr. Lars Kling, the good organization of the Apollonia Foundation, the enthusiasm of the organizers and Gevgeliski Partizanski Odred 1 1480 Gevgelija the successful selection of authors. Since it is undisR. Macedonia puted that behind every success stands a person here I must say that for this success is most deserving the Тelephone: 034/ 213-222 Fax: 034/213-223 director of Apollonia Foundation Ace Ristovski and arE-mail: tistic director Dragi Hadzi-Nikolov. The very thought snezana.dimitrova@apollonia.com.mk that participants in the colony are creating at the archaeological site "Vardar Hill" is somehow the continuation and deepening of the roots of past cultures in this region. Irradiation of the positive energies of the past artists receive as additional energy in their works. Archaeological excavations with their artifacts are evidence of a past civilization that existed there in the embrace of the beautiful vegetation on the banks of the river Vardar. I believe that in future the river of artists and arts will continue to run, flowing the running waters of Vardar. " Academic Vasko Taškovski
