PROFILE
Creative, motivated, detailed and goal oriented, April Gilliam has gained an immense amount of professional development and entrepreneurial experience throughout her design career. April earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Interior Design from Salem College in Winston Salem, NC, and later studied Media Designs earning a Masters of Fine Arts from Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. She developed a strong work ethic and a desire to orchestrate innovative projects. Not only is April the epitome of the 21st century designer, she holds true “making it work.”

Designing Lifestyles 2007- Present Interior Designer Duties Includes: Coordinating and meeting with clients to find the scope of each project, how much work is needed, how the space will be used and what the overall budget is. Prepares preliminary plans for proposed projects, including detailed specifications, space planning, 2-D & 3-D drawings and coordinating presentation boards. Revising design plans with prospective clients feedback, upon finalization. Specifies and Monitors all contracts/schedules for furniture selections, accessories, finishes, lighting and flooring. Submitting drawings/plans to building inspectors to make sure all building codes are meet. Communicating with architects, and contractors while supervising the project to be sure all work is done correctly and according to the timeline. Finally following up with the client for completion and customer satisfaction. Graphic Designer Duties Includes: Creating design solutions that have a high visual impact, while listening to clients and understanding their needs. Choosing the appropriate media creating websites, advertising, books, magazines, posters, computer games, product packaging, exhibitions and displays, corporate communications and corporate identities, i.e. giving organizations a visual brand or rebrand.

It's A Wrap Hair Design 1991 - 2013 Cosmetologist Duties Included: Worked with the general public, enhanced clients by offering hair care services, maintained safety standards/cleanliness, emphasized product up sales for retail, maintained a consistent relationship with clientele in order to ensure repeat business, attended and participated in continuing education and training in order to follow new trends and techniques. AT&T Wireless 2004 - 2006 Inbound Customer Service Representative Duties Included: Assisted wireless business customers; handled call resolutions; posted payments to accounts, and suggested efficient rate plans; ordered phone equipment and assisted with troubleshooting.
