This month Bahrain Confidential goes back to our roots. On the wise premise that less is often more, we decided to cut out much of the ‘fluff’ so we can focus on what’s really interesting. This meant ripping out pages of all sorts of PR releases while keeping the best in fashion, lifestyle, and people. Hope you enjoy the change.

Stay cool,

Best wishes from the Bahrain Confidential Team!

Otherworldly Wonderful Bahrain Confidential experiences a transcendent spa experience at the InterContinental Regency Bahrain.

W

ho says you need to travel a thousand miles to experience a topnotch summer escapade? From exquisite dining offers to glorious spa retreats, InterContinental Regency Bahrain is haven to all of these remarkable getaways. Located in the heart of Manama, the hotel promises to be an oasis that is perfect for both adventure and rejuvenation (especially in this scorching heat)! The whole experience at InterContinental Regency Bahrain was utterly wonderful, we’re not even sure where to begin. As we walked through the grandeur of the place, we were greeted warmly by the friendly staff who led us to where the Spa InterContinental is. Upon arriving at the 10th Floor where the spa is situated, the Spa Manager Lolita herself offered us thirst-quenching welcome drinks and cold towels to refresh ourselves. We instantly felt recharged with the combination of lime, cucumber and mint which quenched our thirst from the burning weather. An array of treatments ranging from different massages and reflexologies were familiarized to us by Lolita who was very keen on offering us the best experience. We were then introduced to our massage therapist, Juanita, who led us to our treatment rooms for our choice of massage. As the doors opened, we felt as though we have been transported out of the city. The delightful smell of lemongrass with a tinge of sweetness welcomed each of us and brought us to a new level of serenity. The room was very inviting with neutral toned walls, earthy interior, candlelighting and the sound of nature playing in the background. The treatment bed was very comfortable and felt like we were a million miles away from Bahrain.

16 Bahrain Confidential August 2017

Feature Having chosen the Swedish massage, Juanita asked relevant questions regarding what problem areas she should focus on, what kind of pressure, and any allergies she should be aware of. Soon after, she began working her magic with her hands rotating between different strokes along the length of our bodies. The massage techniques felt so good, we transcended into another dimension! Throughout the whole session, I felt all the stress and tension melt away from my body. What I liked about my massage was the right amount of pressure done on the right pressure point to relieve tension. A deeply relaxing lavender oil was used to stimulate blood circulation and alleviate aching muscles. The massage therapists definitely made us feel like we are in good hands.

The whole experience at Spa InterContinental was out of this world and was literally the best 50 minutes of my life!

The Swedish Massage was beyond relaxing and stimulating. It is meant to help soothe sore muscles, increase blood circulation and reduce the body tension. This kind of massage goes beyond relaxation. The application of long strokes combined with kneading by thumbs and palms along the nerve path, aids in the removal of toxins by way of simulating the lymphatic system. It is also exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins and improving flexibility while easing tension. The whole experience at Spa InterContinental was out of this world and was literally the best 50 minutes of my life! On top of this, they only use the award-winning luxury European brand ‘Bruno Vassari’ and natural products such as fruits, seeds, chocolates and yoghurt. After the massage, we were then escorted back to the lounge for some tea. Overall, we came out feeling relaxed and rejuvenated! Everything worked brilliantly during our stay at Spa InterContinental. The little things were perfect and every corner seems to be filled with such touches that make a visit feel super special. With dedicated attendants who can tailor make your experience to suit your needs, the Health Club is the perfect place to unwind. Because what better way is there to relax than to indulge yourself in a relaxing day at the spa? Spa Intercontinental bridges the gap between expert skincare and total wellness for body and mind with treatments like massages, facials, scrubs, wraps and men’s signature treatments. The luxury spa centre also features an outdoor pool which is a perfect way to beat the heat this summer. Whether you have a moment to recharge, an hour to detox and workout or a day to relax; immerse yourself in sumptuous surroundings and enjoy a wonderful time from the specially tailored therapy menu that will suit anything you’re looking for. Truly, a day at InterContinental Regency Bahrain makes for a stress-busting staycation.

What a lovely experience… we can’t wait to go back! n

Regular dentist visits can do more than keep your smile attractive, they can also tell dentists a lot about your overall health, including whether or not you may be at risk of chronic disease. When your mouth is healthy, chances are your overall health is good. On the other hand, if you have poor oral health, you may have other health problems. Research also shows that good oral health may actually prevent certain diseases from occurring.

Gum and other diseases

There is a relationship between gum (periodontal) disease and health complications such as stroke and heart disease. Women with gum disease also show higher incidences of pre-term, low birth-weight babies. Other research show that more than 90% of all systemic diseases (diseases involving many organs or the whole body) have oral manifestations, including swollen gums, mouth ulcers, dry mouth and excessive

gum problems which diseases include: diabetes, leukemia, oral cancer, pancreatic cancer, heart disease and kidney disease. Since most people have regular oral examinations, their dentist may be the first health care provider to diagnose a health problem in its early stages.

How to prevent it?

Seeing a dentist regularly 3 times a year helps to keep your mouth in top shape and allows your dentist to watch for developments that may point to other health issues. A dental exam can also detect poor nutrition and hygiene, growth and development problems, and improper jaw alignment. Provide your dentist with a complete medical history and inform him or her of any recent health developments, even if they seem unrelated to your oral health.

Fashion

What sparked your interest in fashion? I have been interested in fashion design since I was a child. I always used to follow the new trends in a magazine that my mum used to read called “Jour de France”. It was also my mother’s sense of style as well as her social circle that helped spark my interest. My father, actually, loved working with leather, as a hobby. He would create and produce wallets, belts, knife sheaths and other leather goods.

How has your cultural root influenced your designs and collections? My culture had a huge influence on how I envision my designs. As a country that boarders the Mediterranean, Lebanon is rich in deep colors and hues of yellow and orange. There is a mix of Orientalism and Occidentalism that helps shape my designs. Because of my Lebanese heritage, I tend to favor bold colors which I incorporate throughout most of my Couture collections.

What is the biggest lesson that you have learned since you started your own line? To always strive for more. I have milestones set and I appreciate every moment in this industry, however, I cannot say that I am satisfied with what I have accomplished so far. This is the greatest push to become better and to achieve more.

Who inspires you most in fashion? My eternal muse is and still remains the strength of women, their symbol, their soul. However, my inspirations are multiple, a historic movie, a recent trip, a new perfume, a feeling. Anything can be a source for inspiration, even a fabric’s pattern.

Fashion Anyone who stands out? Among such big and talented names in the fashion world, I would definitely say that my favorite is Yves Saint Laurent. I love the way he broke the rules in design and his eclectic combination of shades and colors. He was the inventor of modern fashion, and I am still dazzled by his timeless designs.

How would you describe your style? I would say that my style appeals to the contemporary woman. She is selfconfident, and dares to wear clothes with a touch of originality, is fashionforward and has this little spark of fantasy. She isn’t afraid to be vulnerable and definitely not afraid enough to seduce and dazzle. n

A Piece of

Paradise

N

o matter how breathtaking it is; Palawan is the island no one wants you to know about. I’ve been meaning to write about my travel for quite some time now and at first, I really didn’t want to. Why? I wanted to keep the island for myself! This island getaway is far too beautiful to share but lucky you… I’m terrible at keeping secrets so I’m going to spill the beans. Whenever my friends in Bahrain ask me where to go in the Philippines, I tell them to go to Palawan. The archipelago is composed of more than 7,000 islands and one of them happens to be voted as the most beautiful island in the world – Palawan is the Philippines’ answer to Paradise. Located at Southwest of Borneo it is accessible by either boat or airplane and is about an hour and a half away from the country’s capital, Manila. Recently, the island was voted as the most beautiful the world for the third year running by Travel & Leisure. With its clear aquamarine water, lush limestone cliffs and breathtaking lagoons, it is hard not to notice this rustic paradise. Commonly known as “A City in the Forest”, Palawan is home to natural reserves on both land and sea.

32 Bahrain Confidential August 2017

Angela Acosta shares her mishaps and musings on her voyage to the most beautiful island in the world - Palawan, Philippines.

Travel Arriving at the Puerto Princesa Airport, warm “hello’s” and friendly faces greeted us. After a few minutes of squinting and trying to look for our names, we were escorted by a lady and were soon accompanied to our booked hotel. While at the shuttle service, the driver was very keen on making us feel comfortable by engaging us on conversations and sharing facts about the place. Not only were the islands lovely but the people were also very welcoming – it’s really hard not to fall in love with Palawan. Our conversation was cut short because apparently, our hotel was located only less than 10 minutes away from the airport. Upon checking in, the smiley receptionist showed our rooms and asked if we already had plans for the next day. Luckily, we have already pre-arranged our island-hopping and city tours prior to our flight. Tricycles are the main mode of transportation in Puerto Princesa. The fare is Php 20 (200 fils) per person in getting around the town proper. Motorcycles and vans are also available for rent if you want to tour the countryside. Additionally, the hotels have connections to travel agencies who can arrange island hopping tours and other activities that you might like.

Here are the highlights of my trip!

Underground River

No matter how breathtaking it is; Palawan is the island no one wants you to know about.

This is a MUST when travelling to Palawan! The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is one of the new seven wonders of the natural world. It is 8.2km long and boasts stunning limestone formations.

Honda Bay Island Tour

In Palawan, you’ll find a combination of crystal blue and emerald green water which make the scene look like it’s photoshopped. The variety of coral reefs and rich marine life also live up to its repute of being one of the best spots to scuba dive in the world. There are 3 islands included on the Honda Bay Tour: Starfish Island, Lu-li Island and Cowrie Island. Staying true to its name, Starfish Island is filled with tons of starfishes and other kinds of fish! What’s even more amazing is that the water is totally crystal clear

that makes the sea look shallow when it’s actually really deep. Lu-li Island came from the words “Lulubog, Lilitaw” which means sinking and appearing… like the island. Lu-li appears when lowtide and sinks during high tide. Lastly, the Cowrie Island is in my opinion, the most beautiful of the three. The water is a lot clearer than the two stops and it is more suitable for swimming because of its fine sand and shallow water. At first, I thought I wouldn’t enjoy the island hopping because I have terrible eyesight and could not wear glasses/contacts while swimming. Nevertheless, I had tons of fun while snorkeling and seeing a lot of marine creatures. Honda Bay is perfect for those who love to bask in the sun and is a very good setting for snorkeling. A sumptuous seafood lunch buffet is included in the whole day tour which makes the trip really topnotch. A lot of the activities on the tour include

It is important to wear goggles and aqua shoes when swimming to avoid getting stung by sea urchins, jellyfish or stonefish. Also remember to not step or touch corals when snorkeling.

Chao Long noodles

When you are in Puerto Princesa, do not miss the chance to experience this culinary treat! Chao Long noodles originally came from Vietnam and it is kind of similar to the Vietnamese pho. In 1975, more than 40,000 Vietnamese refugees fled to the Philippines after the Communist takeover bringing with them their culture (and recipes).

City Tour

The city tour was only supposed to be a schedule filler as it only requires a half day but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The itinerary included visits to the Baywalk, Mitra’s Ranch, Bakers Hill, Cathedral and Delma Pearl Souvenir Shop. During our visit to Mitra’s Ranch, we tried the skywalk and Rancho Zip line. In order to go to the zip line station, you must first walk through (with a harness system, of course) the petrifying hanging bridge/skyline above

the forest. The experience was a first for me but it was worth the sweat and semihike. We stayed at Puerto Princesa for almost a week but I still find it too short considering how magical and extraordinary the whole escape was. I couldn’t help but have a heartache for how much I’d miss the island life in Palawan. Nevertheless, it gives me tremendous joy to be sharing this piece of paradise with you. n

Travel completely disconnecting from the hazard of the world. I deliberately don’t use the car in Finland; it would be a crime to lose the opportunity to breathe the freshest air in the world. You can literally “get drunk” from the oxygen there and get a guaranteed sleep like a baby. Finland is a highly sustainable environment and it has one of the top best ecologies in the world. What’s even more amazing is that even they are so close to nature; they use the most sophisticated technologies in everything they do. This country attracts many tourists through spending a peaceful time in the cottages by the lake, grilling, camping and biking in the summer; and skiing and skating in winter.

What is your favourite location for a perfect backdrop to photo? One of the top places in Finland is Imatra’s waterfall (Fin. “Imatrankoski”) in the town of Imatra on the Finnish/Russian border. It is a natural rapid going down along the Vuoksa river’s stony sleeve. Since 1929, the rapid has been blocked by a dam as the Imatra hydroelectric plant began operation. Today, the dam is opened daily between June and August, as well as on Christmas Day and New Year's Eve, which attracts thousands of tourists over the season and its considered to be one of the National sightseeing. Every summer evening you’d see a bunch of tourist buses there and the people crowding on the bridge over the rapid waiting for it to be open. Accompanied with the dramatic music (like Evanescence), this view of irrepressible power of water gives you a goosebumps indeed. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the most photographed place in Finland.

Tell us an interesting fact about this?

• Tap water in Finland is so clean so you can drink even the hot water straight from there. • Nokia, the name of the iconic phones back in the days, is actually a name of a small town, the place where the company of Nokia has been established about 150 years ago. • Finland is the highest coffee consumption country in the world per capita! Surprised? Me, not! Average finn consumes 12 kg of coffee per year. You can smell coffee starting from the customs where they stamp your passport. This is

36 Bahrain Confidential August 2017

Travel how I understand I’m in Finland already Coffee is a lifestyle. • In most of the coffeeshops where you get a cup of coffee you can refill it another time for free. You just come back to the counter and say a magical word “santsi”. • Finnish education system is considered the best in the world being actually a very flexible and very interactive system mostly without the homework.

How would you describe the local cuisine? Located on the North and covered with rich forests Finland has such natural foods like mushrooms and berries, and northern wild forest animals that are traditionally used in Finnish cuisine. Here you can try reindeer or moose meat even on the pizza! I personally love reindeer meat, which has a minimum fat and surprisingly very very tender!

Accompanied with the dramatic music, this view of irrepressible power of water gives you a goosebumps indeed. Obviously, I can’t forget the role of fish in the local cuisine since the country has more the a thousand lakes and the Baltic Sea around. Salmon is the most loved fish indeed. It’s a cold-water fish so the Finnish climate is just an ideal environment for salmon farming. Finnish people know and offer a thousand ways of curing and cooking salmon, like cold and hot smoked salmon, with pink salt, with rose pepper, with cranberries, with garlic sauce and so on and so forth. I’d say salmon is Finland’s national fish because it’s so dearly loved by Finns… and me, oh boy, I am obsessed with salmon too! The typical garnish would be potatoes since its widely cultivated over the country and it goes very well with their favorite dishes. Nordic berries are one of the Finnish natural treasures, which you can pick up sometimes from the side of the road! Don’t worry, the country is so clean and all the vehicles are using neutralizers so it is safe to eat from there… I did many times! Blueberries, forest strawberries, raspberries, cranberries, wild berries, cloudberries are just a few to name. The berry jam is always beautifully packed and can definitely be a great souvenir for your foodie friends.

What’s next in your plan? Definitely visiting Lapland! An area above the Arctic Circle, a motherland of Santa-Clause and of Northern lights, it’s a unique place in the world and in my must-go list in the nearest future. Instagram: @trubni Bahrain Confidential August 2017 37

here is a lot to say about travelling – the excitement of being in a different place, of seeing other things and meeting new people. Questions about what to do, where to go and what to eat also arise while traveling. Let me introduce you one of the ways on how to travel called “Couchsurfing: Meet and Stay with Locals All Over the World”. Run from what's comfortable. Forget safety. Live where you fear to live. Destroy your reputation. Be notorious. Rumi the coincidence play its roll, you could get surprised in many ways. It’s the new trend of traveling for backpackers because they are able to experience the place like a local. You will also get recommendations that might save

The other way to travel is to find an exchange programme for different sectors like culture, health, education and human rights. From this, you will be able to experience the professional life in another country, how things run in their offices, what are the policies and the strategies applied there. At the same time, you get to make friendship and you get interact with colleagues from different generations. This could be a total different experience and it will open your mind where you start to see what you need to develop in your country and allow you to evaluate yourself and your life. Sometimes, you just realize how blessed you are for having this life. Traveling is really important, it is like a restart to someone’s life. You look at your country and your life with a different eye. Having a vacation is nice but what if you can have more than that? n

Migration

Gulf

Aiste A Daubaras shares her eclectic musings in a light, yet warm-hearted fashion.

D

id it ever occur to you that we, rovers and "steady" temporary residents alike, flock to this island to winter through various personal or economical turmoils, or simply seek sunnier climates to grow our dreams and cultivate new opportunities. Just like migrating birds spreading their wings in order to exchange cold seasons of their homeland for transient warmer pastures. However, most of us, like these migrating birds, tend to return back home... eventually. When nearly three years ago we zealously joined echelons of the expat community in Bahrain, a very wise French lady (who moved here initially only for six months... now somewhat seventeen years ago) kindly proffered us some helpful practical advice. All of which appeared very comprehensible and useful. However, one phrase in particular struck me most, mainly because, back then, I could not grasp its full meaning. "The hardest thing is to see one’s friends of several or many years move on and move away, thus leaving a void in their stead". Striving to veil the palpable bewilderment on my visage, I filed this remark to be pondered upon later. Much later, as it turned out to be. Because after painstakingly learning all the mandatory ropes of a new "recruit", I realised that one quickly adapts to the scorching heat, or...freezing dampness of one’s unheated apartment in January, by a trial and error masters a "Five-WordVocabulary-English" (as anything more complex will get your support staff lost in translation) and grasps the rudiments of the unpunctuality of "Inshallah-Time". One learns to survive without ones

favourite food and even manages to replace the trusted hairdresser (although not applicable in my case), doctor and dentist, all of which can be rather smoothly achieved with "a little help from my friends". But when one of the aforementioned friends announces that she is leaving, the sad realisation dawns upon you, that true

The cuts will heal, but the heartwarming memories will remain.

Perhaps best is to accept the fact that our human heart will never cease loving and feeling, thus do not even try to restrain oneself from embracing ardently all possible friendships that the benevolent destiny ushers our way. The cuts will heal, but the heartwarming memories will remain. Besides, just imagine how grim and colourless our lives would be if we had no friends to share this island's sunshine with... n

friends (albeit fairly newly minted), in a sharp contrast to tailors, doctors and nail technicians, can not be so easily replaced. "First cut is the deepest", sings Mr. Rod Stewart, and perhaps he is right. But as I bade a tearful farewell to my first 'migrating friend', I could not help but wander, how do you protect yourself from the future cuts? By being less emotionally involved, less giving or forming a lesser bond. Chmm...to a nice kind of comradeship this would then lead...

Art

Matching Misfits Bahrain Confidential explores the mind of award-winning artist and animator, Yuri Pinzon.

#6 (Photo by Ron Rentutar)

46 Bahrain Confidential August 2017

Art What motivates you to get up in the morning? I’m a runaway. I get up knowing that every moment of the day is solely up to me. I have to keep myself alive, fed, and I have to keep my practice as well. I realise that creating your life is a crushing responsibility if you no longer have excuses like ‘you’re doing this for your family’ or ‘this is what’s expected of you’. I get up in the morning to go to work in the studio and go home still exhilarated with the possibilities of the art in my life. I get up to gather experiences, to meet new people, be they artists, musicians, or whoever they are. I get up sometimes just to get through the day. Sometimes, I don’t get up at all. What really motivates me in the end is knowing I can create artworks that are extremely true to me, that sometimes

have no purpose but just to express myself. If these works entertain or inspire others, that’s great. But I live for the joy of creation and that’s it.

Which artwork do you most identify yourself with? Imagine walking into a gallery that’s hosted by some familiar artists that you know. Right away, you can tell whose is whose and also some pieces stand out because you can’t tell who made it. These are the pieces I hate. Because if your friends can’t recognise you through your work, then your work isn’t faithful to you and you’re probably trying to deceive

Art is both my passion and profession… It’s become a looking glass through which I see the world and it sees me.

some people or imitate other people. Art that I identify with is authentic and true to the artist. I identify with people, and that’s how I get to know them and appreciate them. You can identify with differences and similarities and this extends to the art that they produce. I just like to keep it that simple, because art doesn’t need to be excessive to be effective, just true to itself.

What does art mean to you? Art is both my passion and profession. There are kids in their childhood that stick to their desks amongst the ruckus of recess and simply draw. These kids get labelled as artists and grow up unwittingly fulfilling their self-prophecy, often, this hobby

Bahrain Confidential August 2017 47

Art becomes a passion and if they’re lucky it becomes a profession. However, art for me isn’t just this. It’s become a looking glass through which I see the world and it sees me. It’s my translator. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to cope with confusing feelings, talk about issues I feel close to, or even communicate support and interest with others. Art is my therapy, and at the same time it’s feeding me. I’m eternally grateful to have it.

What do you aim to communicate through your art? Art that’s meant to communicate should just communicate the artist’s voice. Any other aim, such as to scandalise or hype a topic is expecting a certain reaction from an audience. Yes, there are very experienced and intelligent artists that can do this but it can also take away from the experience of receiving an unexpected reaction. Simply communicating your point of view takes away the pressures of expectation and complications and lets your art’s reception be more organic and fun.

Can you describe your artistic process? How do you know when an artwork is finished? I’m a big admirer of Warhol. He’s like a flash in his studio. I aim to be like him and sometimes I do the practices that he does. Simple ideas, simple objects, but viewed a few steps backwards. I love mixing representational scenes and expressionistic characters

Art as well to somehow try to convey how I view a certain person or place. I usually work as soon as I feel the idea in my head, and I try to materialise it in this world as soon as I can. I’m afraid if I let time pass by, the idea will disappear or become deformed and I’ll lose interest. I know the artwork is finished if I’m tired or if the work itself feels tired.

Which part of Bahrain is your favourite and why? Bahrain is a dazzling place and I love the fact that art is thriving and living in the communities of Adliya. It really gives me hope when I hear about neighborhoods actively supporting exhibits and festivals and opening up galleries for artists and art-lovers alike. I’ve always been a fan of the Middle East and, with great care, often try to show this interest in my work through little details and motifs that I’ve picked up from this beautiful place. n

Chef’s Corner Method: 1. Bring the chicken stock to a boil and keep it warm on the side. 2. Place a medium sized sauté pot over medium heat, poor in the olive oil, minced Cipollini onions and the chopped celery; to cook them until tender, causing minimal coloration. 3. Add the risotto rice to the sauté pot and combine all the ingredients using a wooden spoon. 4. Poor enough white wine to cover all the rice, and simmer until all liquid has been evaporated. (Keep stirring using the wooden spoon preventing it from sticking) 5. Poor enough stock to cover the rice twice and let it simmer until liquid seems near evaporation point. 6. Meanwhile heat a none stick pan with some olive oil and sauté the salmon filets on both sides for one minute. 7. Remove the seared salmon filets from the pan and place them onto a baking sheet. 8. Place the tray into a well preheated oven at 205 degrees Celsius for about 4 min. (52C core temp.) 9. While the Salmon filet is baking, continue with the risotto by refilling it with some more warm stock, this time less and continue this process until the rice is close to tenderness. 10. Add a good dash of white wine and the butter; also some more stock if needed to ensure the rice isn’t dry but silky smooth and slightly runny. Executive Chef Raf Griep

Bahrain Confidential Honest Restaurant Review

The Master’s Wine Dinner Le Sauvage at The Domain

L

eather bound and tastefully classy, Le Sauvage offers fine quality of curated cuts of meat and classic French side dishes. A speciality in Le Sauvage, the dry ageing of the meat allows it to develop a greater concentration of flavour to heighten the tenderness and texture of the beef, resulting in the perfect steak, cooked to your exact requirements. It is one of The Domain’s signature restaurants emanating elegance and grandeur. Four of us went to Le Sauvage to experience The Master’s Wine Dinner and we were really impressed. Le Sauvage's Master’s Wine Dinner was a 6-course organic seasonal menu paired with some of the best wines of the world. Provence Rosé and Pink Sparkling headlined the list of this captured light in a glass. The offer was priced at BD42++. The night started with interacting with guests, where we were served flutes of

champagne. We were then invited to sit on our tables where each dish was explained and complemented with the matching wine. The Poached Alaskan King Crab Salad was paired with Pongrácz Sparkling Rosé that evoked an air of sophistication to the salad. The person talking us through with each dish was the Sommelier, Chad, who was very passionate about wine and food. With over ten years of involvement in the trade and hospitality industry, he definitely enchanted everyone with his colourful storytelling. His passion for vino and food pairing shows in his enthusiasm and broad knowledge while explaining the whole concept to the guests. As we sat down, there was an open kitchen where we watched the chefs busying themselves for each course that was served to us. Master Chef Jahidur carefully crafted his signature on every

dish. The food was extraordinary – from the entrée to the sweet ending of Caramelized Pears paired with Château du Coing ‘Audace’, every detail was very well thought of. The presentation of the food was skillfully prepared and the service was impeccable. On top of these, the harmony of each wine and dish resulted in an exquisite gastronomic adventure. All in all, the Master’s Wine Dinner was a superb evening with wonderful friends. n

Verdict: The good: • A wonderful experience. • Perfect pairing of food and wine. • Great atmosphere and stunning views.

The bad: • Okay, so it's pricey but at least everything was amazing.

Will we go back? • Definitely!
