DESIGN BRIEF

DESIGN BRIEF

The course require students to design a building of medium complexity that represents public architecture and identify design problems/constraints that require integrated solutions. Students will work as independently as possible from the formulation of design brief and physical requirement, building image, technology and sustainability will also be considered, leading to the production of Design Drawings and Technical Drawings with specific details/technical studies of the completed design.

INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION Proposed project attend to the requirement of a proper islamic school within the residential area. By taking advantage of the nearby existing mosque, Masjid As-Salam Puchong Perdana as the main islamic landmark for the neighbouhood, an Integrated Islamic School development seen as an oppurtunity to expand the islamic education which can be integrated with the mosque in term of islamic activities and events. A program relationship between the residential neighbourhood, the nearby primary school, mosque and the proposed project is foreseen to be an educatinal hub within the community which integrated to each other in developing the new modern islamic generation. With existing natural features, the site itself provide an element of calmness and relaxing. The lake and greeneries in between the development act as a green lungs to balance the proportion of the man made features and the natural element itself. The project also promote an outdoor activities as part of the educational process which will balance the development process of the children. Attending to that intention, there were invented the covered outdoor activities area and covered meeting point in between the scheme to enhance the relationship between the students and the educators.

DESIGN PROCESS & LAYOUT

CONCEPT Caravanserais supported the flow of commerce, information, and people across the network of trade routes covering Asia, North Africa, and southeastern Europe, especially along the Silk Road. The concept derives from how the caravanserai once before become a place where people meet to share experience, knowledge, and to have a good rest after a long journey. The principle of the design comes from how activities within the building is derived.
