reform The troditional layout of the Chinese courtyards is introverted, but, as public facilities, libraries should be extroverted. We design a new courtyard with preserving the introverted spaces, and inserting public and extroverted spaces. Then we transform the new courtyard with topology, and the transformed courtyards are inserted into the troditional layout. Consequentely, the troditional courtyard is expressed in new architectual language.
