During Round 01, the main focus of the design was ADA and Live/ Work. The front room was designated to be a studio that could accommodate a second bedroom if needed. Although ADA on these sites is challenging, the design consists of spaces that someone who is disabled would still feel comfortable in their house and within the neighborhood. The narrative is based off an individual who is disabled, presumably someone who lives alone, but needs a versatile space that can be utilized for working from home. The front room fulfills the needs for an open and versatile space, perfect for working. Taking this one step further, three schemes were developed during Round 02 to accommodate other Occupancy Types.

During Round 02, the design of the house was iterated into three separate schemes, each meant to accommodate a different Occupancy Type. The first house was designed for Age-in-Place by including all essential spaces on one floor. This house also works well for the Starter Home Occupancy Type. The second was designed for Live/Work and Co-Housing by utilizing a second floor that has a second bedroom and bathroom. The third scheme, designed focusing on Family and MultiGenerational Occupancy Types, includes a second floor with two additional bedrooms, as well as an additional bathroom. Throughout all three schemes, the footprint of the house remains the same, spaces are simply added to the second floor.
