TWO SLOPES
SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING MUSEUM | MADELYN MIDGLEY
This project is located on an unique, corner site in OTR off of Central Parkway. The massing is sculpture like with a lot of angles sloping in different directions referring to a mountain. The building overall is very technical like the equipment of the sport. The facades are fully structured with prefabricated panels of composite material designed and arrayed in a way to refer to the black diamond, the ultimate challenge of the sport. The floors within this shell are supported by two main elevator/stair cores that allow them to appear that they are floating. These floors are staggered at different levels, which include display areas with a bar at the peak.
