CASE STUDY BRIEF Working from home, learning from home, staying at home. The COVID-19 pandemic made all of us spend the biggest part of the day at home. While the way of living changes the meaning of a home also changes. Especially in our daily work, these changes will remain long after the pandemic. People will continue to work from home as well as from the office. Meaning that the requirements for a home are changing. Not only COVID, but even more the climate change and waste of resources force us to rethink the way we build. It forces us to find a way the construction of new houses will cause as little damage to the earth as possible. New buildings must reflect the awareness of this responsibility and the entire life cycle of the house must be considered. Material, programm and fabrication must positively affect the house in a sustainable way and contribute to its longevity. For us as students, the task is to design a prototype of housing for America within the framework of the >Case Study House Program 2022< which responds to the current developments of the planet and is based on an extensive research of different topics.
