HISTORIC AND CONTEMPORARY LOCK AND DAM SITES -LOCK 19Located just outside of Parkersburg, West Virginia, abandoned Lock 19 has sat vacant for nearly 70 years. Though the building and site is public, there has been no attempt to re-purpose the land for any formal use. My aim was to reuse the site as a park to return the Ohio River back to the community in a variety of ways while also utilizing architectural interventions to solidify an identity for the Parkersburg community.
