Fair Play Sarah Fastnacht Lyceum 2020: Belt Tightening - Bungalows for the Millennial Family Faculty Advisor: Terry Boling Greater Grand Crossing is a neighborhood rich in history and community. This design focused on a community’s culture and needs so they can gain tools to dismantle systemic oppression and build a future with equity. The first step connects the community to existing entreprenuerial programs and non-profits all over Chicago. Community members will have the ability to connect and inspire each other, all while flushing out their business plans with the resources they need. Those interested in a future live-work unit will have the opportunity to buy out the space and start their venture. Funded by the income of the business, the housing unit can begin construction. This plan creates flexibility in time based on the fluctuating needs and funds of the individual. Houses are multi-generational friendly with an in-law suite on the first floor and space for 4 bedrooms on the upper floors.
