Arden Kids’ Crew provides fun, high quality interactive theatre classes that enliven imaginations, get kids working together, and instill a lifelong love of theatre. All classes are taught by professional teaching theatre artists with a penchant (and talent!) for teaching kids. Kids’ Crew classes develop speaking, problem-solving and listening skills while increasing confidence and self-esteem. Know kids in 6th - 12th grade? Arden Teen Company is a program designed to pickup where Kids’ Crew leaves off. Check out our theatre class and camp offerings for older kids on the reverse of this brochure.

Arden Theatre Company has expanded its offerings of theatre classes to include classes for elementary, middle and high school students. Stop by on October 25 and take mini-classes in Improv, Acting, Costume Design and Technical Theatre, meet our Drama School teaching artists and learn all about our 2008/09 productions. Receive an exclusive backstage tour and enjoy light refreshments. Play Practice for students in 3rd – 5th grade Tuesdays after school for six weeks 4pm – 6pm WINTER SEMESTER: January 6, 13, 20, 27 and February 3, 10 A perfect place to use all that you have learned in acting class! Kidss rehearse a scene from a play and perform it on the final day of class. Students must have completed either one session of an Arden Acting Class or Drama Shop to participate in Play Practice.
Acting A Script for students in 3rd – 5th grade Tuesdays after school for six weeks 4pm – 6pm WINTER SEMESTER: January 6, 13, 20, 27 and February 3, 10 In this class students will break apart the mechanics of performing a script and learn how actors make each moment on stage meaningful and memorable. Students must have completed either one session of an Arden Acting Class or Drama Shop to participate in Acting a Script.

Treasure Trunk for students in Kindergarten Saturdays, 10am – 11am Kindergarteners discover the power of creation by inventing their own stories. Boxes full of hats, baskets full of costumes, and trunks full of props inspire kids to new heights of creativity.
Storycrafters for students in 1st and 2nd grades Saturdays, 10am – 11:30am Star in your favorite book! Kids learn acting and storytelling by reading their favorite books and working together to act them out dramatically. Learn how to create a character and be a great storyteller! Every session, in fact, every class, is unique! Take it once or six times; it’s always a new journey!
Acting for students in 3rd and 4th grades Saturdays, 10am – 12pm Kids begin to learn the techniques that actors use on stage! They will use their bodies, voices, and minds to create characters, and work together to create new pieces of theatre.
Acting for students in 5th grade Saturdays, 10am – 12pm Kids will work with scripts they create as well as scenes from plays while learning fundamental acting skills.

Improv
ONE DAY CLASSES
Kids work together to conceive, write and perform a play of their own creation! Parents and other guests can enjoy the fruits of their kids’ labor at the end of the day. Each Play in a Day is as unique as the group of children. Take it once or ten times, the story and characters are always new!

April 6 – 10 Monday – Friday, 9am – 3pm
An action packed theatre camp taught by theatre professionals with all the care we give to our full scale productions. Kids will spend the week taking acting and design classes, all while creating a theatre piece of their very own. Each group of campers, guided by their teachers, will create a world-premiere production that they present of Friday afternoon!

An action packed theatre day camp taught by working theatre professionals. Arden Theatre Company is filled with all the care, focus, and enthusiasm we give to our full scale productions. Kids take two acting classes a day (one basic class and one specialized class like improve, storytelling, or Shakespeare) and at least one design class a day. Each afternoon the kids rehearse for the camp show that is presented to the parents and families on Friday!
