Dear Reader Once again, Summer is on duty, here in Albuquerque, and Winter is on vacation. So, for New Mexicans, HOT, HOT-er, & HOT-est are certainly in the weather forecast. I hope you have a soothing shady place, where you can cool-off. It is vacation-time, for you too, …time to frolic and play …for, soon, you will be “back to school.” Whatever you are doing with your summer, I hope you are having fun. Also, I hope you are not being lazy about learning. We should always keep our minds growing, like a lush summer garden. Good knowledge, good skills, good habits… these will bring you… “goodness” …and Planet Earth needs more goodness. My mind grows, whenever I take walks in Nature. And there is so much beauty that comes with Mother Nature’s lessons. There are so many beautiful colors in the trees, flowers, grasses, mountains, and skies? How long does it take me to identify sixty different colors, in any landscape…?... about sixty seconds. In just one minute, I can also, observe 60 unique shapes drawn by Nature’s Paint-brush. And the sounds of nature…?... sometimes a breeze, like a whisper, calls to my ear… then fades away… leaving my attention on the silence that remains… I do not turn away from the silence… I give it a moment, for though silence “sounds” like nothing, it is something… that can “speak” to you. If you have never planted a garden, perhaps you will …someday …then you will experience what Nature is doing all year round… feeding the world with “the color green.” ‘Green’ is Mother Nature’s miracle color… it is the color of food, breath, spring & summer …the color of life. May you see\touch\hear\taste\& smell …enchanting lessons from nature. As you go forward in life, may you grab the opportunity, whenever you can, to talk about: gentleness; goodness; and love for all beings. This great big world, is your world; but not because you own it; ...Earth is your world, because you live in it. And you have the right to clean it up. There is pollution in the rivers and the streets, yes. But there is another pollution that is worse; because it is the cause of all other pollutions… I am referring to the “pollution of negative human attitudes,” such as: ignorance; selfishness; laziness; violence; and so on. Life is thoughts; and life is feelings. Do not be afraid, when your thoughts show you a way to help. You do not have to try to be a hero. Your heart, already is, heroic. Just listen …to your positive inner voice. When you “feel” your heart’s inspiration, then you will… confidently… follow it.

Wonder, Wonder What do you look forward to when you wake up?

If you opened a store, what would you sell?

What sounds do you like?

How do you think animals communicate?

When you are angry, how do you deal with those feelings?

Kid Power Kid Zone There are plenty of young individuals standing up for animal rights, climate change, and vegan whole food plant-based eating. We commend you. We Thank you!

Meet Zoe Rooster, Animal Rights Activist

Zoe is raising awareness about the 4H and FFA programs in schools for children. She states, I can’t even tell you the number of young 4H and FFA kids I’ve seen sobbing on the last day of the fair, sobbing because they have to say goodbye to their animal, and more significantly, because they know that their animal is going to die.

Meet Hudson Tarlow, Animal rights Activist, Musician

When you remember the animals, who are tortured, enslaved, and killed just so their flesh and secretions can be put on supermarket shelves, the decision to be vegan becomes the easiest choice in the world.

Did you know… Animals - Wombats •

• • • • • • • • • • • • •

Wombats like their tree-climbing cousin, the koala, are marsupials. This means that they are part of a particular group of mammals, who have pouches where their newborn young develop.. Wombat babies are born super small and helpless, so the pouch is a safe place for them to grow up and get ready for the world! Wombats are clever critters who spend their nights foraging for food, or digging new tunnels, entrances, or exits for their ever-expanding burrows! Wombats are herbivores, so most of their time is spent grazing on native grasses. Wombats usually spend their days tucked away in their underground homes. However, they do sometimes come out to sunbathe and warm up, especially when the weather is very cold. A wombat’s intestines have a curious ability – they shape their poop into angular cubes. A group of wombats is called a “wisdom”. A wombat can move up to 3 feet of dirt in a single day when building a burrow. During the Ice Age, there used to be giant wombats the size of a rhinoceros. Wombats live in large complex burrows up to 100 ft long. Wombats are the largest burrowing animal in the world. Wombats have the most developed brain of any marsupial. The bones and musculature around the jaw are very much like the beaver – but they are not related. Although generally quiet, if wombats become angry, they make hissing sounds.

How You Can Get Started …In Activism Are you ready to be a Vegan-Activist? If you’re wondering, how you can get started, here are some suggestions:

Has anyone ever told you that you’re too young to change the world? YOU are not!

There are a many youth activists motivating change around the world. With a mission to raise the next generation of activists and leaders for climate change, social justice, racial justice, veganism and more. We support, promote, and congratulate each and everyone of them. The goal is to create a world where every child has the same opportunities. One way is to speak up and speak out. Learn, engage, and share your activism. There are many ways to help all living beings, whether human or nonhuman insuring equality for all. Activism is one way. Whether you write a letter to your member of Congress, sign petitions, or march in the streets, if you’re working to solve the root cause of a problem, you’re an activist. You can be an activist for animal rights. You can be an activist for the environment. You can be an activist for ending world hunger. You can be an activist for health. You can be an activist for education. In other words, you can speak up about injustices everywhere. It is your future, and you should have a say at what needs changing in order to heal the planet and move to a more compassionate way of living. Read some books to help you be a change maker, an activist.

As always, I’m here to help any way I can. welcome22day@gmail.com
