I believe in YOU! Welcome, to the 2ND issue, of l…2…Vegan (Kids). I begin by saying, “When you understand, how actions (of the human-majority) are, now, affecting the future of Earth, …you will act, for the advancement of… veganism.” Yes, I believe it. The youth of Earth’s humanity, here & now, possess the kindness and compassion, that the world needs, for the global-shift …about to come. The shift is toward GLOBAL COMPASSION FOR ALL ANIMALS… two-legged, four-legged, hundredlegged, slithering, flying, swimming, yearning-yearning-yearning …to be happy… animals. You must believe, that your true-goodness, can certainly inspire: someone; perhaps your friends & family; perhaps anyone --everyone-- to examine the virtuous values of veganism. I say to the youth, of today, “Speak; and, ‘we’ will listen ...and listen, as ‘we’ speak… for ‘your’ world certainly is --the future itself. It is Earth’s future, that wisely visionary humans, are always fighting for.” When the attitudes of, “nonviolence & one-ness with all” come to you …then, a path of purpose, -compassionate purpose- has already opened for you; as many of you, now, know. An “Era Of Global-Veganism” is coming, soon. Will your generation, be the one… to, finally, stop animal cruelty? Are love & peace …to all… important? How do you feel, about these questions? I, and many others, are here for you: Your friend,

Phoebe Goldstein When Phoebe Goldstein learned, that her school was organizing a trip to SeaWorld, this eighth-grader spoke-up as strongly opposed to the annual event. Goldstein spoke to the school’s administrators (explaining the suffering and isolation, inherent in whale and dolphin captivity); and, successfully convinced her school to cancel the trip. Here (in the following link) is an exposé, regarding SeaWorld’s treatment of the animals, there.
Tayler Jensen Tayler Jensen, at 14-years-old, has: distributed leaflets, on veganism, at her school; encouraged her friends and family to eat a plant-based diet; petitioned to add a veggie-burger to her school’s cafeteria menu; and, started a “vegan club” at school, with more than 70 members and 30 sponsors!
Daniel Bissonnette Thirteen-year old, Daniel Bissonnette, is a member of: *The World’s Top 100 Most Influential Vegans. His other vegan activist involvements include: International Speaker; Social Media Influencer; and, author of “Daniel’s Breakfast Burst.” Daniel was once a bullied “weird kid” who simply wanted to help a few kids eat healthier. Now, he is on a journey, far beyond his classroom walls. Since the age of 9, Daniel has appeared on the stages of leading health events in Canada and the USA. By the age of 10, he was named “Vancouver’s Best Loved Speaker.” By age 11, he became a Signature-Speaker with “Western Canada’s Premier Consumer Health Shows.” By age 12, he was included in “The World’s Top 100 Most Influential Vegans”** …and he also joined (the non-profit organization) “Borneo Wildlife Preservation.” ___________________ *PLANT BASED NEWS 2017 **

“Don’t just dream of change, Lobby For it!” Thomas Ponce My name is Thomas Ponce; I am 17 years old and I am an animal rights advocate and citizen lobbyist. I am the Founder and President of Lobby For Animals, the Coordinator for Fin Free FL and a grant advisor on The Pollination Project Environmental/Animal Rights Board. I became vegetarian when I was around four years old and vegan around nine. As soon as I made the connection of where our food comes from, you know a chicken nugget was once a living breathing chicken and a steak really comes from the flesh of a cow, I knew I couldn’t be a part of that cycle any longer. It was something that felt so wrong to me. It was no different than eating my dog or cat, and that thought sickened me, so I decided to become vegetarian. As I learned more about the many ways animals are exploited, such as animal agriculture, animal entertainment, in vivisection labs, etc. I made the decision to become vegan. In my mind it was a no brainer; I could either keep contributing to harming animals and our environment, or I could become vegan. It really was as simple as that to me. It was a matter of doing what was right, as opposed to what had always been done, and what in my heart and mind I felt was wrong. I have been vegan now for eight years and I have never looked back. It’s funny how the brain and heart work, once you know and see the truth you can never truly un-see it, and to be honest I would never want to. For me, the best part about being vegan is probably the fact that when I close my eyes at night I am happy with my choices. I know how difficult it can be sometimes when you are the lone vegan in the room. I know how cruel kids can be at school, especially when they don’t understand something, but you have to remember there is a bigger picture, so just know that you are doing the right thing. I personally was never the “cool” kid at school and being a vegan activist I’m sure played a part in that, but to be honest I never really cared what others thought because I knew in my heart why I was doing the things I was doing and that was good enough for me. You are never going to be able to please everyone so why not focus on just being the best you can be and not worry about others opinions because you know what? Their opinions really don’t matter, only your opinion of yourself does, and maybe, just maybe they will learn from you. The way I always felt was, if I could reach just one person, and change the way they viewed animals and their choices, then I helped, and that fueled me. My advice when dealing with those that do not understand whether it be family, friends or whoever, is to stand your ground but be nice. Arguing is counterproductive. Lead by example. I know it can be difficult to deal with those who do not

“Don’t just dream of change, Lobby For it!”- Cont’d Thomas Ponce share your ethical views but unfortunately it is what it is. You are always going to be around people who don’t always agree with you about something, and you cannot go around angry or even sad whenever you encounter them. Enjoy your time with your family and friends and if you can educate them in a civil way then great, but if not don’t let their lack of desire to change ruin your days. Even if you are not successful in changing any minds at your dinner table or at school there are tons of other opportunities to get involved and be proactive for animals and the environment, and tomorrow is a new day! You do what you feel is right and you will always be ok. When I started out in my activism I attended protests wrote essays, passed out leaflets, and spoke to whomever, whenever I could. I wanted to show as many people as I could what was going on with animals and how we needed to speak up for them. Through my activism, I realized that what needed to change were the laws pertaining to animals. That’s when I started researching about lobbying and learned just how easy it was to be a voice for animals in the political arena. I knew I wanted to share what I had learned, so I created Lobby For Animals. Lobby For Animals is my venue to teach people, of all ages, how to be an effective lobbyist. I teach them how to write letters to their legislators, how to research bills, how to make productive phone calls and meetings, etc. It just takes a little bit of effort but can make a big difference. Lobbying is such a crucial part of being an activist and citizen; it is our way of letting our legislators know what we want to see from our government. There are so many ways to get involved within your communities. I choose to lobby and raise awareness. One way to get started is by going online, just Google any topic you’re interested in, let’s say vivisection, learn about the topic, read about what companies are performing the experiments, then, write a letter, or an email make a phone call, tell them how you feel about it. Research online what bills are being discussed that effect your topic. Go to my site, www.LobbyForAnimals.org, learn about the process, look up who your legislators are, get to know them, and contact them with either your support or express your

“Don’t just dream of change, Lobby For it!” - Cont’d Thomas Ponce opposition. Make an appointment to speak to them about your issue and have your opinion heard. If it’s an issue that is not being addressed by legislators currently, address it. They will listen to you, it’s their job, and they know you will be a voting constituent in a few years, and believe me they want your vote. You are never too young or too old to speak up for what is right. There are plenty of bills that have been passed into law that were initiated by citizens. The key is to be persistent, don’t ever give up. As young adults we have the opportunity to change the future of things, we can make this world a better place for animals and human beings alike. By spreading compassion for all living beings and demanding that our laws reflect our values we can create a better world. I’m on Facebook and can always be reached via email through my website www.LobbyForAnimals.org . I welcome anyone who wants to learn about living a cruelty free life and becoming more active to contact me; I would be more than happy to help you in any way I can. Thank you very much, and remember, never be silent, speak up for what you know is right and “Don’t just dream of change, Lobby For it!”

Did you know… People, classify both male and female baby goats (from birth to 6-months old) with the term: “kids.” Goats can “talk” with each other, by using their vocal chords. This “speaking” of goats, is referred to, by humans, as “bleating.” Mother-goats will often “bleat” to their kids, reminding them to stay nearby. Mother-goats and kid-goats recognize each other’s “bleats,” soon after the mother gives birth. Kid goats, will stand and take their first steps, within minutes after being born. Goats, being mountain animals, are very good at climbing; they’ve been known to climb to the tops of trees, or even dams. Goats naturally prefer to live with a herd of other goats; and may become depressed when living alone, without any goat companions. A group of goats, is identified by multiple acceptable terms, including: herd; trip; & tribe. Goat herds are (usually) led by a female, called the: herd-queen; tribe-queen; or, tripqueen. Goats are very intelligent and curious animals. Their inquisitive nature is exemplified in their constant desire to explore and investigate anything unfamiliar or new.

Kids Can Change The World Many children, have something, that causes them to: do something, about ‘unfairness,’ in the world. An activist: is not-willing, to ‘let,’ a wrong situation, continue. Activist-actions, are saying: ‘wrong’ must end; and, ‘right’ must begin. Vegan-activists, feel, so passionately, about their topic; they want to: raise awareness, among all, on this planet; and to, bring about An Important Beautiful Change. Heart Like a raincloud, gathering moisture, to itself, above a dry and thirsty land, …the Vegan-wisdom-cloud, is gathering, minds & hearts, to itself, above suffering and death, on Earth. Its rain will: wash us, feed us, …save us. The world needs, vegan-leaders, from your generation. There is much to be done, for many. How can you be available to help? Heart. Vegan-wisdom, is working in hearts. You will see its power, reflected in the world; but, only your heart, can form that clear inner-picture, for inspiring the world, to become fully compassionate. A Clear Outlook How does one get, clear vision, for a vegan outreach? Veganism, is a global movement, much bigger than you; and, it is already underway. Living as a vegan, day by day, …eating pure food, thinking pure thoughts, loving nonviolence, you will cultivate, clarity. Then, one day, the Vegan-wisdom-cloud will gather you, and all your clear raindrops, to itself, …then, from that ‘high place,’ you will know when, where, and how, …to rain. When people, of wide-ranging attitudes, are in conflict; your clarity, will speak to their basic objective-humanity, which they all have, in common, thus: they will share understanding, with more ease, …and you will, naturally, inspire more people, to live by beautiful ideas. Who Is Your Audience? Decide for vegan-activism; then, your proper audience, will present itself to you; either as: a challenging hurdle, to overcome; or, …unobstructed progress, toward the finish-line. Be The Change The World Needs! Get in touch with us at welcome22day@gmail.com, if you want help forming your own youth group at your school. We will help you.

Climate Change Around the globe, day to day weather-changes, are natural, (depending on location & season). Where I live, last week was marked by dry warm weather; and, people were speaking of “spring.” This week, there is cold-rain in the city plain, and snow in the neighboring mountains. Global Human-induced Detrimental Climate Changes, differ from, normal daily weather changes. Detrimental human behaviors, are threatening, human existence, and it is evidenced, by many climatic aberrancies. We are putting the planet’s trees, dangerously near, to extinction. Fossil fuels are used, unwisely. Animal agriculture (humans eating animals), could, in itself, completely destroy, Earth’s biology. Facts about Climate Change •Like a greenhouse, that is without circulating ventilation; the Earth is heating up. It has warmed by 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit, since the 1880s. This number seems pretty small, until you consider, that the planet warmed only, 7 degrees, in the previous 12,000 years, according to weather scientists. •Glaciers and ice-sheets, in the -Arctic and Antarctic- are melting, quickly. Water from the melting ice, flows into the oceans …and causes the sea level to rise. •Animals, such as polar bears, that live in Arctic regions; may become extinct, as they lose habitat. •Low-lying cities, such as New York, may become permanently flooded. Sea levels could rise, by as much as, 82 feet, if all glaciers melt. •In South America, farmers burn rain forests, to create farmland. Burning the forests, releases more carbon dioxide, into the air, causing more damage, to the atmosphere. Since 1990, 163,000 square miles of rain forest, have been cut down, in Brazil. •Over millions of years, the Earth has experienced: warm, wet periods; as well as, cold Ice-Ages. . •Animals, people, & plants, …must adapt, to climate changes, or become extinct. •Storms, will become more common and severe, as the detrimental human behaviors continue. •Many animals, will be forced, to migrate; if, they are to survive. •If Detrimental Climate Changes continue, we must find new ways, to live and to grow food; and, even then, human survival, will be uncertain. Therefore, it is urgent, that humanity, awakens to the: “greenseed" …now.
