All adults grieving the loss of a loved one are welcome to attend a one-evening session of “Surviving the Holidays” on Monday, Nov. 12, 6:30-8 p.m., at St. Mike’s Place in Fort Loramie. Whether you are grieving the recent loss of a loved one or someone who passed away years ago, this evening will help you to participate and even find ways to treasure the upcoming holidays. On Monday, Dec. 10, at the same time and location, a session entitled “Loss of a Spouse” will be offered for anyone whose spouse has died. Again, whether your spouse passed away this year or long ago, all are welcome to this helpful evening. Both sessions involve prayer, an excellent GriefShare video program, discussion, and a guidebook. No one is ever required to speak, and some people are most comfortable sharing with the group simply by their presence. People of all faiths or no faith are welcome. Following the December 10 “Loss of a Spouse,” anyone interested in learning about a new group for people who are in their 50’s or 60’s and are widowed is welcome to stay and meet with Judy Broering, a widow from Yorkshire who is organizing the group, and adults of other ages who might want to start a group can meet with Bobby Bender. St. Michael and Sts. Peter and Paul Churches will host both programs. Diane Schulze and Bobby Bender will co-facilitate. The fee for the program has been prepaid for everyone by former GriefShare participants. St. Mike’s Place is located adjacent to Fort Loramie Elementary School, between the school and the parish office house on Elm St. People will be outside to greet you. Further information is available online at GriefShare.org and you can register online at the site if you wish. Registration is not required.
