Patronize Local Places of Businesses! Although, for the time being, you won’t be able to sit down and enjoy a meal at your favorite restaurant, most places welcome your take-out business. By patronizing them now, you’ll make it possible for them to open up their doors again once the COVID-19 crisis is over. Continue to have maintenance done on your vehicles, have your lawn care service keep your grass thriving, and keep up your provisions by shopping at your local places of business. By taking the precautions outlined by the government, you can safely shop. It is recommended that when replenishing your food supply, only one member of the family do the shopping. We all need to do our part in keeping our local businesses solvent and able to serve us again once this crisis has passed!

We want to assure our valued customers that we are continuing to do everything within our power to keep our shelves stocked with the quality products you’ve come to expect from Anna Market. Our doors will remain open as long as we have product to offer. We are sending orders every day to our suppliers and – although we are fortunate to be receiving deliveries almost every day – they are certainly not as complete as deliveries received prior to the COVID19 crisis. Our suppliers are struggling, as well, and it is for this reason we aren’t able to advertise specific items in our weekly ad. We suggest you look up Anna Market on Facebook for current specials. Please know, that as a part of your community, we make the following promises: to continue all our services to our community in the same friendly and courteous manner you have come to expect. to maintain market level pricing. NOT to place unnecessary restrictions on purchase quantities. Although everything is first come, first serve, there will be limits when limits are needed to service as much of our community as possible. As we work together through these unchartered times, one thing holds true. Anna and her surrounding community is strong. We will get through this.

A little prevention goes a long way when it comes to protecting your car against breakdowns Bring your vehicle in for reliable maintenance and repair service you can trust
Valley echoes Sharing happy thoughtS During troubLing timeS Turning on the TV news and reading newspaper headlines these days is “distressing and depressing.” We’re living in a time that none of us could have foreseen. Bad things have always happened, of course, but usually it was to “someone else” living “somewhere else.” But the fact is... This bad thing is happening to ALL of us, no matter where we live, no matter how hard we try to do the right thing. But, it’s not all bad. We are sure many of you have uplifing, encouraging stories you could share with our readers. Perhaps, if you’re a shut-in, you have a neighbor who checks on you daily to see if you have enough provisions to see you through this. if you’re considered an “essential” employee and must go to work every day, maybe a thoughtful friend cares for your children while you’re away. Boredom is a problem with many families suddenly thrust together all day, every day. have you thought of a creative way to entertain your children while they’re not in school? Maybe even a way to keep them engrossed while educating them at the same time? Adults, too, find excess time spent at home leads to depression and lethargy. have you figured out a way to make your stayat-home days more productive and less stressful? Too much togetherness can be a strain on even the happiest of families. have you figured out how to spend so much time together without getting on each other’s nerves? Maybe the memories your children will have of this terrible time will be how much they enjoyed playing board games, the meals together at the dining room table, and making crafts the whole family can work on together. We invite our readers to share ways they’ve found to cope during this period of isolation. Please tell us – in 200 words or less – how you are making the best of a very bad time in your lives. Get your children involved... we’d love to hear their thoughts, too! You can e-mail your comments to arenspub@gmail.com or mail to: Arens Corporation, happy Thoughts, P.O. Box 69, Covington, Ohio 45318.
By Gary Godfrey, Publisher
I’m free!!! Ginger and I were released from our self-quarantine Wednesday, April 22. I have the biggest smile I’ve had for years. Columnist Kevin Frisch, managing editor of the Daily Messenger in New York, offers a few ideas on how to reduce stress. He says we should challenge ourselves, break a habit, or shake up our daily schedules. 1. Find a spot in your backyard, at the park, or anywhere outside and simply stand there for five minutes observing nature. 2. Strike up a conversation with a stranger. It might just change your life. 3. Find 15 minutes to listen to music – not as background while you’re doing something else, but with your full attention. Any style of music will do. 4. Call a friend or relative you haven’t spoken with in several months, or years. This might be the best thing you’ve ever done. 5. Read a columnist whose politics you disagree with (if you’re doing that right now, thank you) or listen for a few minutes to a talk show host whose views you find repulsive. 6. Select and read a new book – or any book will work, really – at random from your local library (or borrow one from a friend, since libraries are currently locked up tight). 7. Try a food you hated as a child – just to see if your taste has changed. 8. Find a reason to compliment someone you don’t normally get along with. You might find out you have more in common than you ever thought possible. 9. Pay it forward. Do something nice for someone – and never tell him or her. 10. Hire one or several grandchildren to help you with your spring outdoor projects. Pay them well, and remember what an outside vendor would charge.
This week’s boTTom line: Give your stress wings and let it fly away. better yet... dance it away!
