Volunteers Sought to Help With M-U Alumni Newsletter

Although the Milton-Union Alumni Association had to cancel the 2021 Banquet, a newsletter will still be published. Anyone willing to help with preparing it for mailing is encouraged to meet at Hoffman United Methodist Church at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 8. The church is located at 201 S. Main St. in West Milton. This is an opportunity to help out the Alumni Committee as well as visit with other M-U Alumni. Please wear a mask. There will be room for social distancing. Questions? Bradford Public Library is pleased to offer the following activities and services to the community: Our AMericAN Girl PArty is planned for April 10. Girls in grades K-5 may sign up for one time slot, either 10:30-11:30 or noon-1:00. Young ladies may bring along an older helper to assist with crafts (one helper per participant, please). Helpers may be high school students, older sibling, parent, grandparent, aunt, etc. Girls will have their photo taken with their doll(s) in a very special backdrop, enjoy crafts, games, and a special treat. Goodie bags and door prizes will be given. This is a wonderful, wholesome event enjoyed for several years by our young ladies. Sign-ups are limited to 10 girls per time slot. Registration is required – no exceptions – so we can plan accordingly. Call the library to register.

The library will be a distribution site for Free coVid At-HoMe teSt kitS. These kits have been purchased by the State of Ohio and sent to libraries across the state willing to participate. Tests are taken in your home under the supervision of an e-med proctor. An Internet-accessible device with a camera and microphone is needed. Test results are available in 15 minutes with these kits. To obtain your free test kit: 1) Patron should download the Navica app from the Google Ply App Store or Apple App store and create an account. If you have children in your home you can create a separate account for each child. 2) Call the library to place your request at 937-448-2612. Inform library staff of your name, age, and how many tests you need to pick up. Patrons must be 18 years old to pick up kits. 3) When you arrive at the library, call our staff with the make, model, and color of your vehicle. Please pop open the trunk. 4) Staff will deliver your test kits to the trunk of your car. 5) Take the test kit home and follow the directions to start your e-med appointment. A proctor will walk you through the test administration, then return 15 minutes later to record the results. If you have a positive test result, they will notify the Health Dept. for you to report the case. 6) You will also receive a "Pass" through the Navica app to show as proof of result for return to work, travel, sports participation, etc. NO TEST KITS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED FROM INSIDE THE LIBRARY BUILDING TO KEEP OUR STAFF HEALTHY and free of exposure. If you don’t feel well or believe you have been exposed to COVID, please don’ come into the library. Our staff are happy to do a no-contact delivery to your trunk. If you have questions about this service, please call the library at 937-448-2612 and ask for Stacie. The library would like to remind the community that we are a fine-free library through the end of 2021. Any overdue fines on your account will be waived when you come to the library. This includes past overdue fines and current ones. If you have charges due to lost or damaged items we are happy to offer our Food for Fines to help eliminate those charges. Simply bring in non-perishable food items and receive $1 credit for each item. This is normally offered only on the first Monday of the month, but we will accept Food for Fines any day we are open through the end of the year. If you have charges on your account due to lost items, but you know where the items are, please return them and we will happily waive any fines on your account as long as the items are still in good condition. Spring is the perfect time to clean out your closets, bookshelves, cars, etc. and look for those lost items! We look forward to seeing you in the library soon.
