FREE Community Thanksgiving Dinner To Be Served November 17 At Covington Eagles Hall The Covington Eagles and Fields of Grace Worship Center will host a FREE Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 17, 4-7 p.m., at the Covington Eagles Hall. Those attending are asked to please enter through the Debra St. entrance to the hall. The meal will consist of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade dressing, homemade noodles, green beans, dinner roll, pumpkin pie or Mrs. Wick’s sugar cream pie, and drinks. There will be take-outs available from 6-7 p.m. only. There will be a limit of two meals per adult. To pick up a take-out meal please enter through the Debra St. entrance as well. Home deliveries will be made to surrounding communities to individuals and their caretakers who are unable to attend the meal because of being homebound or being unable to drive. Meals can be reserved by calling Fields of Grace at 937-573-4282, Tuesday thru Thursday 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., until Thursday, Nov. 15. No calls will be taken the day of the meal. Nozzle Display Featured at History Center Brass garden hose nozzles are on display during November at the Pleasant Hill History Center, 8 E. Monument St. Richard Swank has been collecting them since 1970 and has accumulated about 120 nozzles – no two are alike. Richard is a member of the History Center and is known locally for his many unique collections and knowledge of local history. He has contributed many items of local history to the inventory at the museum. There is also a display at the Center featuring Albert “Red” Kramer, who was the local Police Officer for many years. Fields of Grace Worship Center Says THANK YOU!!! Fields of Grace Worship Center would like to thank Covington and the surrounding communities for the outpouring of support in attending this year’s Trunk or Treat. The attendance was 900-plus, with over 500 of those being children! A special thank you to the Covington Police Department, Covington Fire Department, Covington EMS, and the Miami County Sheriff’s Dept. for being there with their vehicles and for passing out candy. Many thanks to the Miami Valley Career & Technology Center and SARS (Search & Rescue) canine team, the Covington HS Art Club and their advisor Nicole Crawford, and the Pleasant Hill library. All of you were and are very much appreciated. And there are too many more to mention. Winners of the Trunk Decorating Contest were: 1st Place - Carolyn and Tony Iddings, Covington; 2nd Place - Matt and Beth Humphrey, Covington; and 3rd Place - Tyler and Tamara Hegi, West Milton.
