Valley Echoes by Gary Godfrey Just because we're still in Florida doesn't mean we're not feeling what everyone in the United States is feeling. Florida is on the list for hot spots. We've been on “shelter” since who knows when. We've listened to the news for so long that we need to take a walk or ride in our golf cart every night. You can only listen to the media for so long. I do hope everyone heard Mike Lindell (the ‘My Pillow’ guy) who was invited to speak to the public in the Rose Garden with President Trump. He has turned over three-fourths of his manufacturing business to make the much needed masks. After he was through, he asked the President if he could say a few words off the cuff. According to Politico this is what he said: “God gave us grace on November 8, 2016, to change the course we were on,” Lindell began, referencing the day Trump was elected President. “Taken out of our schools and lives, a nation had turned its back on God.” Lindell then offered advice to families stuck at home because of various social-distancing guidelines: “I encourage you to use this time at home to get back to the Word, read our Bibles, and spend time with our families.” “Our President gave us so much hope. Where just a few short months ago, we had the best economy, the lowest unemployment, and wages going up, it was amazing,” he continued, as Trump stood behind him expressionless. “With our great President, Vice President, this administration, and all the great people in this country praying daily, we will get through this and get back to a place that’s stronger and safer than ever.” Trump then acknowledged, “I did not know he was going to do that, but he is a friend of mine, and I do appreciate it.” A friend of ours told us that God is always in control. And we believe that, too. He has the power to cut this virus off when He wants to. You see, God has us doing things that are common, but we're too busy doing our own projects and activities. We're now forced to talk to each other, help our neighbors, and telephone our loved ones. As we take on another 30 days of shelter, let’s remember the words of Mike Lindell. Let’s pull together the way God has instructed. Let’s pray for our first responders, our doctors and nurses, our police and firefighters, and let God know we love Him! And just maybe He will give us a little slack.

ShArINg hAPPy ThOughTS DurINg TrOubLINg TIMeS Turning on the TV news and reading newspaper headlines these days is “distressing and depressing.” We’re living in a time that none of us could have foreseen. Bad things have always happened, of course, but usually it was to “someone else” living “somewhere else.” But the fact is... THIS bad thing is happening to ALL of us, no matter where we live, no matter how hard we try to do the right thing. But, it’s not all bad. We are sure many of you have uplifing, encouraging stories you could share with our readers. Perhaps, if you’re a shut-in, you have a neighbor who checks on you daily to see if you have enough provisions to see you through this. If you’re considered an “essential” employee and must go to work every day, maybe a thoughtful friend cares for your children while you’re away. Boredom is a problem with many families suddenly thrust together all day, every day. Have you thought of a creative way to entertain your children while they’re not in school? Maybe even a way to keep them engrossed while educating them at the same time? Adults, too, find excess time spent at home leads to depression and lethargy. Have you figured out a way to make your stay-at-home days more productive and less stressful? Too much togetherness can be a strain on even the happiest of families. Have you figured out how to spend so much time together without getting on each other’s nerves? Maybe the memories your children will have of this terrible time will be how much they enjoyed playing board games, the meals together at the dining room table, and making crafts the whole family can work on together. We invite our readers to share ways they’ve found to cope during this period of isolation. Please tell us – in 200 words or less – how you are making the best of a very bad time in your lives. Get your children involved... we’d love to hear their thoughts, too! You can e-mail your comments to arenspub@gmail.com or mail to: Arens Corporation, Happy Thoughts, P.O. Box 69, Covington, Ohio 45318.

Patronize LocaL Businesses! Although, for the time being, you won’t be able to sit down and enjoy a meal at your favorite restaurant, most places welcome and NEED your take-out business. By patronizing them NOW, you’ll make it possible for them to re-open their doors once the COVID19 crisis is over. Continue to have maintenance done on your vehicles, have your lawn care service keep your grass weed-free and thriving, have outdoor construction projects completed, and keep up your provisions by shopping at local places of business. By taking the precautions outlined by the government, you can safely shop. It is recommended that when replenishing your food supply, only one member of the family do the shopping. We all need to do our part in keeping our local businesses solvent and able to serve us again once this crisis has passed!

Charleston Falls Preserve To Close Due to Overcrowding The Miami County Park District has announced it is taking additional proactive measures to protect the health and safety of people from the threat of COVID-19. Effective Friday, April 3, Charleston Falls Preserve in Tipp City closed until further notice. Overcrowding in the past few weeks has made it increasingly difficult for the public to implement appropriate physical distancing. As a result, the MCPD has no other feasible option but to close Charleston Falls Preserve. “While we regret having to close the park, our priority is to keep staff and visitors safe. Unfortunately, with the heavy use we’ve seen at Charleston Falls over the past few weeks, public safety is a significant concern.” MCPD Executive Director J. Scott Myers stated, “As of now the other MCPD parks will remain open so people can reap the physical and mental benefits of being outdoors." As the weather improves, overcrowding may become an issue requiring additional safety measures in other parks. The MCPD is calling on visitors to follow all COVID-19 mandates, to be mindful of crowding, and to seek alternate close-to-home opportunities to get outside, including backyards and neighborhoods. To support efforts to flatten the COVID-19 curve throughout the state, the MCPD is asking the public to play their part. Here are a few reminders on how to get fresh air while staying safe: • If you are exhibiting symptoms related to COVID-19, or if you have recently been exposed to the virus, please stay home. • Spend time outdoors in your backyard and neighborhood. • Visit a less frequented park or trail. • Avoid peak visitation times and please keep your visits brief. • Choose a couple of places to visit. If your first destination appears overcrowded, go to another location. • Maintain a distance of at least six feet away from other people and avoid gatherings of more than 10 individuals. • All park restroom facilities are closed (use the bathroom before you leave home). • Always Leave No Trace! This includes cleaning up after your pet, so be sure to bring a disposable bag to carry out any waste.

The words you are about to read are true. They will change your life. He loves you. And He is the Father you have been looking for all your life.

This is His love letter to you.

My Child,

Father’s Love Letter

You may not know me, but I know everything about you. (1) I know when you sit down and when you rise up. (2) I am familiar with all your ways. (3) Even the very hairs on your head are numbered. (4) For you were made in my image. (5) In me you live and move and have your being, (6) I knew you even before you were conceived. (7) I chose you when I planned creation. (8) You were not a mistake, for all your days are written in my book. (9) I determined the exact time of your birth and where you would live. (10) You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (11) I knit you together in your mother's womb. (12) And brought you forth on the day you were born. (13) I have been misrepresented by those who don't know me. (14) I am not distant and angry, but am the complete expression of love. (15) And it is my desire to lavish my love on you. Simply because you are my child and I am your Father. (16) I offer you more than your earthly father ever could. (17) For I am the perfect father. (18) Every good gift that you receive comes from my hand. (19) For I am your provider and I meet all your needs. (20) My plan for your future has always been filled with hope. (21) Because I love you with an everlasting love. (22) My thoughts toward you are countless as the sand on the seashore. (23) And I rejoice over you with singing. (24) I will never stop doing good to you. (25) For you are my treasured possession. (26) I desire to establish you with all my heart and all my soul. (27) And I want to show you great and marvelous things. (28) If you seek me with all your heart, you will find me. (29) Delight in me and I will give you the desires of your heart. (30) For it is I who gave you those desires. (31) I am able to do more for you than you could possibly imagine. (32) For I am your greatest encourager. (33) I am also the Father who comforts you in all your troubles. (34) When you are brokenhearted, I am close to you. (35) As a shepherd carries a lamb, I have carried you close to my heart. (36) One day I will wipe away every tear from your eyes. And I'll take away all the pain you have suffered on this earth. (37) I am your Father, and I love you even as I love my son, Jesus. (38) For in Jesus, my love for you is revealed. (39) He is the exact representation of my being. (40) He came to demonstrate that I am for you, not against you. (41) And to tell you that I am not counting your sins. Jesus died so that you and I could be reconciled. (42) His death was the ultimate expression of my love for you. (43) I gave up everything I loved that I might gain your love. (44) If you receive the gift of my son Jesus, you receive me. (45) And nothing will ever separate you from my love again. (46) Come home and I'll throw the biggest party heaven has ever seen. (47) I have always been Father, and will always be Father. (48) My question is… Will you be my child? (49) I am waiting for you. (50)
