LEADING ARTICLE
L
andini means background, tradition, reliability, endurance. It’s not a brand for all. It embodies the values and principles of agriculture and its protagonists: the customers, but also the design engineers, personnel and everyone who works for its glorious name. We met in October 2013 at Foundations for the Future, the World Convention in which representatives from 40 countries took part. It was a very exciting moment for a number of reasons: our sense of belonging to the family of Landini enthusiasts and the energy with which dealers and importers encouraged us, with their ideas, to strive for continuous improvement. The Convention gave us the chance to present our projects for the immediate future (new products and manufacturing processes thanks to the Kaizen philosophy) and further ahead, when we plan to launch increasingly powerful and performance-oriented tractors. At the beginning of the year, we celebrated the Landini brand in a TV spot, where tradition was projected towards the future: Because it’s in the future that Landini wants to exist. New ad hoc initiatives for Landini’s 130th anniversary will follow during the next few months. Production of the 6 and 7 Series began at the start of 2014, thereby marking the achievement of a new power goal but also a starting point, because Landini is not going to stop there. The first 4 Series tractors will be produced in May, the month this issue will be published. We feel really motivated by this because we’re talking about a medium-power range, one that will redefine the so-called Light Utility tractor concept, extremely versatile machines ideal for hay-making and more besides. Landini has also prepared exciting innovations in the digital world: the new Facebook profile, which has already topped 8,000 fans, and the new Web page are just a taste of what’s in store. So Landini is not a brand for everyone, but all “Landinisti” make Landini great. Antonio Salvaterra

THE COMPANY
The “Kaizen” project improves production efficiency
Fabbrico. The plant and the new production organization.
D
uring the past year, Argo Tractors has made important qualitative leaps forward that have allowed the Fabbrico facility to evolve towards new goals. The transformation involved all the corporate activities, from production onwards. This is where Argo Tractors introduced the “Kaizen” production system, already thoroughly tried and tested in other areas and focused on reducing lead times, improving the industrial processes, quality, reducing waste and the ensuing production costs. All-round waste reduction is the basic principle of the Kaizen process, “waste” meaning everything that is unable to create added value, i.e. space not used in the best possible way, waiting times, movement of unnecessary materials, irrelevant processes. The system is directed towards a continuous flow of the industrial process through optimized handling of components and tools. Materials are collected and brought straight
to the assembly lines in a sort of “supermarket” system and are then conveyed through the assembly phases until the finished product is obtained. All this simplifies the tasks of the assembly line workers and makes them safer, but it also affects the overall appearance of the shop floor, since there’s more room in the workstations, which are cleaner and more orderly. These changes in our manufacturing process achieved with the Kaizen project have involved all the Argo Tractors factories, from Fabbrico to San Martino in Rio and Luzzara. Thanks to the project, our assembly lines are constantly upgraded with the introduction of new technologies, robotic systems and automatic equipment allowing us to work with the level of accuracy, reliability and safety required by the increasingly higher production standards of the new tractor ranges designed and manufactured by Argo Tractors. ■
VALERIO MORRA NOMINATED CAVALIERE DEL LAVORO As this issue of “Il Landinista” closed, we received news that the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, had signed the decrees, following the proposals of the Minister of Economic Development in agreement with the Minister of Agricultural Policies, by which 25 persons were nominated for the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro, among whom was Valerio Morra, Chairman and Managing Director of Gruppo Argo SpA. The nominiation is to be made official on 2 June 2014 on Republic Day, while this highest of honours will be consigned at the Quirinale Palace in October. The prestigious Order of Merit was established way back in 1901 and still awards Italian entrepreneurs who have been “singularly meritorious” in agriculture, industry and commerce but also for their ethical and social commitment towards improving the living and working conditions in Italy.

A PARTS SERVICE PAR EXCELLENCE With a view to improving customer satisfaction by providing increasingly efficient and dynamic services, Argo Tractors has also made hefty investments in the parts sector over the past year. There has been a remarkable technological upgrading process in the San Martino in Rio plant (RE), which now has 2 automatic warehouses (40,000 pallet places), 4 new packaging lines dealing with over 70 thousand different articles and is able to promptly respond to all the requests received. The San Martino in Rio parts facility works in synergy with the French headquarters in St. Dizier, branch for France, Germany and Benelux, as well as logistics centre for distribution of Argo Tractors parts in central/ northern Europe, United States, Canada and England. Unified management that has allowed Argo Tractors to make an important quality improvement to the parts service thanks to strategic locations able to serve the major European markets in an excellent way by guaranteeing a fast reaction to all incoming orders. The innovations implemented during the year and new distribution agreements with the major European haulage contractors have allowed the timeframe for receiving orders to be extended by over 4 hours with respect to the past, so as to guarantee order fulfilment within the day.
If this is an important part of the service, then so is the work performed prior to shipment of the parts: easily accessible catalogues on our website, also being revised at the present time to assure user-friendly use and high-speed browsing; stocks management through optimized planning of the articles thanks to use of latest generation information systems able to provide a service with total efficiency. Thanks to ongoing investments and the important changes made to the organizational set-up, Argo Tractors intends to focus on the end customer to a further extent by providing services constantly at the cutting-edge as our products become increasingly more technological and performance-oriented.

A NEW PRODUCTION FACILITY IN BRAZIL Landini has decided to open a production facility in Brazil so as to cater to the local markets. This being the goal, Landini signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of the State of Minas Gerais last 27 March in Belo Horizonte (MG), thanks to which a factory will be built in the metropolitan region of the State capital. The initial investment will amount to some 13 million dollars. “The State of Minas Gerais is situated in an ideal geographical area for the production of agricultural equipment thanks to an important network of parts manufacturers and qualified manpower,” declared Tiago Bonomo, the Brazilian CEO of Argo Tractors Latin America.
The factory will manufacture 60 to 180 HP tractors and will start with the 100 to 180 HP ranges. Landini’s aim is to cover the entire Brazilian market by offering tractors of high level technological quality and creating a widespread dealer network. “Unlike other big groups that produce tractors”, explained Bonomo, “Landini has set its sights on the development of cutting-edge, high production efficiency machines. This is the result of Landini’s on-going investment in research and development, a policy that now allows us to offer extremely flexible solutions to our customers.”

renewed enterprise with a fighting spirit projected towards a challenging future. This was the impression that emerged strongly during the Landini World Convention, an all-new appointment that drew some 300 dealers from over 40 different countries and a hundred-or-so reporters from the international specialized press to Parma’s Auditorium Paganini last October. Entitled “Foundations for the future”, the Convention was opened by Chairman Valerio Morra who outlined the issues to be faced by the speakers and then continued by hinting at the brand innovations presented at Agritechnica in November as well as the imminent arrival of new products. These will include the new 4 Series, designed to replace the Alpine and Technofarm series with a decidedly more versatile range, the 6C Series that takes over from Powermondial and, for the high power range, the innovative 6 and 7 Series, this latter presented outdoors in a gleaming metallized blue version. Along with all the different innovation and development issues, the evident changes that had taken place in the company were underscored by its executives, including Simeone Morra, Corporate Business manager, Antonio Salvaterra, Marketing and Communication manager, Paolo Fracassini, Supply Chain Manager, product specialists Paul Wade, Gaetano Cerami and Platform Managers Alessandro Bonini and Massimiliano Del Bue. Mario Danieli, sales manager for the Italian
market, illustrated the developments in the dealer area. Giorgio Guaitoli, Argo Group Parts manager, spoke of how the Parts service had been optimized while Franco Paterlini, the Service Manager, presented the new training and aftersales service tools. Important innovations as to organization and products, ones that underscore Landini’s brand philosophy decidedly founded on tractor production and targeted on consolidating and developing a market based on quality and innovation. “We are specialists and intend to remain as such by monitoring the development of our products and network with the utmost dedication”, affirmed Alberto Morra, member of the Management Committee, as the Convention concluded after numerous speakers had touched upon all corporate upgrading aspects, from production reorganization to parts and marketing, for which a free tablet App has been created (only available in Italy at the present time). This includes much of the technical-sales literature, and the training schemes for personnel tailored to suit the new competence standard required by the new product technology. The Convention program also included visits to the Fabbrico and San Martino in Rio plants for both the sales network and representatives from the specialized press. Factories where, as Paolo Fracassini illustrated, the industrial process has been revolutionized by the “Kaizen” system, which advocates simplified organization and teaches how to spot and eliminate waste in business processes. This was followed by field trials at “La Gatta” farm, not far from the Fabbrico plant. Here the guests were able to take the new 6 and 7 Series and the 5H and 5D Series tractors on trial runs, with the chance of driving them hitched to ploughs, harrows, a front loader and transporting a tanker attachment. The session concluded with the convivial part of the event which, along with spectacular and choreographic entertainment, helped to underscore how this family-run business is not just open to change, but also to communication and a desire to share the imminent strategies with the sales network, customers and representatives of the specialized press. ■

Agritechnica 2013: blue-blood A n anxiously awaited appointment: that’s what Agritechnica 2013 was for farmers and farm contractors who always look forward to seeing the unexpected innovations that are invariably presented during this international trade fair. This time, not only did Landini come up to the visitors’ expectations, it actually surpassed them by unveiling the new arrivals of the “blue-blooded” range, thereby confirming how the brand is strongly determined to create a modern style based on advanced technology with the utmost attention to detail. First and foremost the new 4 Series was presented at Hanover. An absolute innovation that revolutionizes the low-medium power segment designed to first take over from the Alpine series and then Technofarm, with a unique and decidedly more versatile solution. There are six models available: three from 61 to 75 HP with modern 2.9 Tier 4 Final engines and three from 85 to 101 HP sporting 3.6 liter Tier 4 Interim engines, these latter presented at Agritechnica. The 4 Series can be configured to suit the customers’ requirements and starts off with an Entry Level model through to ver-

sions with full optionals. These optionals include a new four-pillar cab equipped with all comforts and the completely new 12 + 12 transmission built by Argo Tractors, which can be fitted with Creeper, Power Shuttle, Powershift Hi-Lo and 40 Eco, and the two-speed electrohydraulic PTO. The mechanical or electronic rear power lift with 3900 kg lifting capacity, the 1750 kg capacity front power lift and the hydraulic circuit with up to 57 l/min flow rate complete the setups. When it came to the immediately higher power segment, Landini presented Powermondial’s successor: the new 6C Series. Available in two models, with 111 and 121 HP power ratings, the range features the new 4.5-liter FPT NEF Tier 4 Interim engines with SCR Selective Catalytic Reduction system. Both models are equipped with Dual Power,, thereby raising the level of power available to 121 and 133 HP, respectively.

Agritechnica. The new tractors on show and the crowd of visitors.
Even the styling of the 6C Series, which reflects the Family Feeling sported by Landini’s new ranges from the 5H Series onwards, transmits an air of radical renewal in a range that presents a compact appearance and a new four-pillar cab that combines modern design with a unique level of comfort, true to concepts hitherto only used by the car industry. As to technological features, Landini’s new range has a re-vamped 36 + 12 transmission (3 Powershift speeds), an electronically controlled 5000 kg capacity rear power lift, 4-speed PTO (available as an optional) and a definitely improved hydraulic circuit with 66 l/min flow rate in the standard version and 110 l/min in the closed center version. The suspended cab and suspended front axle are available as optionals and provide the 6C Series with additional comfort during road transport work.
The new 6 and 7 Series are another two of the latest arrivals. Already announced during the last Sima trade fair, these series comprise two ranges that epitomize Landini’s qualitative leap forwards in the high power bracket. While the 6 Series offers three 143 to 166 HP (175 HP with Dual Power) 4-cylinder models, the 7 Series proposes three 165 to 188 HP (175 to 212 HP with Dual Power) 6-cylinder models featuring NEF Tier 4 Interim Common Rail engines that provide 40 km/h at economic engine speed. Landini’s new 6 and 7 Series have also made a decisive qualitative leap forwards as to driver comfort thanks to the new four-pillar “Lounge Cab”. A true masterpiece of design, space and comfort with a level of styling borrowed from the car industry. ■

A
decidedly lively edition for Landini, not only because Fieragricola 2014 was the venue chosen for the official launch, on the Italian market, of important innovations that had already been announced worldwide, but because there was an unexpected number of visitors and the initiatives organized to make the trade fair even more pleasant and interesting were truly numerous. Speaking of innovations, the visitors’ interest was focused on the new 4 Series, 6 Series and 7 Series. Ranges that expand and revamp Landini’s offer with a new concept of technology, comfort and innovation.
With nine models ranging from 61 to 101 HP, the 4 Series introduced a profound change of direction to Landini’s low-medium power bracket by actually taking over from the two previous series, Alpine and Technofarm with a single, decidedly versatile solution that can be configured to suit the customers’ requirements from Entry Level to versions with Full Optionals. These optionals include a new four-pillar cab equipped with all comforts and the new 12 + 12 transmission built by Argo Tractors, which can be fitted with Creeper, Power Shuttle, Powershift Hi-Lo and 40 Eco, and the two-speed electrohydraulic PTO.

Rex Series. A benchmark for specialized agriculture.
The 6 and 7 Series definitely stole the show at Fieragricola 2014, i.e. Landini’s two new ranges each comprising three models, with 4 and 6 cylinder engines, respectively. Further proof of the qualitative leap forwards achieved by the Fabbrico brand in the high-power segment both as to technology and comfort. Alongside these very recent innovations, Landini’s stand at Fieragricola also included the 5 Series medium-high power tractors, which come in two ranges, 5H and 5D, with numerous versions available. Unrivalled protagonist of the specialized agriculture sector, one of the subjects of major interest at Fieragricola, the extensive and reliable Rex range of tractors for orchards and vineyards, is recognized world-wide as a benchmark for the segment and was also on show with a comprehensive array of models and configurations. ■
amic edition LANDINI AND ZAMBROTTA SPORTING PARTNERS It was a pleasant surprise for Landini enthusiasts when, during Fieragricola, the company officially announced that a cooperation agreement had been signed with ”Eracle Sports Center”, the sports facility created by world champion footballer Gianluca Zambrotta. Situated in San Fermo della Battaglia, near Como, the center includes a modern multi-functional structure covering an area of some 36 thousand square meters that, despite the fact that he is now a soccer coach, Zambrotta set up after the style of a large American campus, surrounded by nature. The sports fields and garden areas need constant ground care and require a versatile tractor, one able to operate the
many different towed and mounted implements used, but also possessing the style and technology expressed by the dynamic, young and modern image of the Center. This is why Zambrotta chose Landini as a partner and opted for the Mistral series as the ultra-technological, latest-generation machines able to deal with the maintenance work required by the Sports Center. Landini’s collaboration with the ”Eracle Sports Center” was formalized during Fieragricola when Gianluca Zambrotta was a guest in the Argo Tractors stand, which was literally stormed by fans of the champion from Como, who signed autographs and gave lots of footballs away.

Argo Tractors and Itsmaker: developing young talents together
A
rgo Tractors has been fruitfully collaborating with the mechatronics area of Fondazione Itsmaker, Reggio Emilia, within the Istituto Tecnico Superiore Nobili technical college. Each year, Fondazione Itsmaker organizes a twoyear training project with the support of advanced enterprises. The project is free of charge and its purpose is to train students for jobs by enhancing their technical and technological skills in the mechatronics field. Thus the reason for collaboration with Argo Tractors, thanks to which the courses also include specific technical subjects which are important for obtaining employment and which are the foundations on which the students can build their practical learning experience even after they have started work. The program also includes some 650 hours of work experience backed by joint and customized planning able to highlight the students’ particular “talents”.

The purpose of the project shared by Argo Tractors and Itsmaker is to educate and prepare the upand-coming generation to be strongly open-minded and able to identify innovative solutions to technological, design and manufacturing problems.
Landini’s 2014 Calendar: 130 years of brand history
L
andini celebrates 130 years of history in 2014. 130 years of life marked by a long series of technical innovations that the 2014 Landini Calendar celebrates month after month by comparing the great tractors of the past with the sophisticated latest-generation models upon a suggestive background. Extremely eye-catching and of great effect, the 2014 Calendar gives a glimpse of the old glories in this, more sophisticated and advanced era, in remembrance of the important historic successes that dictated the evolution of the Landini brand. A brand which, while maintaining its strong links with the area in which it was created and developed, has crossed every geographical border and is now appreciated world-wide. As it is today and will be tomorrow, Landini remains a reference point for anyone who thinks of agriculture with advanced expectations and for all those farmers who, beyond every expectation, have decided to face the great challenges of 2014 in the company of the Landini Calendar.
Safe driving: lessons on ice
T
ractors Academy, the Argo Tractors division that trains farm workers, organized training courses last winter for the purpose of enhancing the driving skills of those who deal with winter road maintenance. Real driving courses on snow-covered ground just like the ones held for car drivers. This is why the lessons were held by professional instructors from Mooving of Brescia. The venue was Lanzada, in Valmalenco, near Sondrio, an area where snowfalls and cold weather made it the perfect place for practice and that also included an ice track. The installation was officially opened last January when drive school mooving got underway. There were four one-day tractor driving courses, each attended by ten or so drivers. A Landini Powermondial 120 and an ultra-new 7.215 were among the tractors at the participants’ disposal.

T
he Landini brand celebrates its 130th anniversary in 2014. Not many enterprises can boast such an important history. This is why Landini has organized several singular initiatives involving the marketing and communication area to celebrate this exceptional event. These initiatives include a spot broadcast by the RAI National television channels from the end of December to the middle of January that will also appear on the digital channels according to a very busy schedule. The subject of the spot, “Landini’s 130th Anniversary” highlights the fact that today, as yesterday, where there’s a Landini tractor, you’ll find that agriculture develops. Landini has been cultivating a real passion for 130 years.
CNR: driving lessons in a 5H
I
t’s with a 5H Tier 4interim that Landini reinforced its collaboration relationship with CNR-IMAMOTER (National Research Council Institute for Agricultural and Earthmoving Machines) for the purpose of training tractor drivers. According to the decree that came into force in March 2013, this sort of training is obligatory for everyone who drives a tractor, even only occasionally. Having worked with CNR, Turin, for over 10 years, Landini has always considered training for tractor drivers to be essential and has organized courses and training schemes several times for the purpose of teaching driving skills and especially to protect the drivers’ safety.
Maurizio Novelli is awarded for innovative agriculture
T
echnical partner of Nòva Agricoltura, Argo Tractors awarded Maurizio Novelli of Reggio Emilia (RE) during Fieragricola in Verona, as one of the few lowland breeders to have re-introduced Reggiana cattle alongside the Holstein-Friesian breed. Together with his brother Manuel and son Marcello, Maurizio decided to diversify his milk production eight years ago and created a special type of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, that of the red lowland cows, a breed now raised by very few breeders. The composition of the milk produced by Reggiana cows is different from that of the Holstein-Friesian breed and this pecularity allows Novelli to make high quality cheese with a special flavour, much appreciated by consumers. Novelli is also very interested in farm machinery and helps Argo Tractors to test new tractors and technologies.

Two-speed PTO
The versatility featured by the transmission is also proposed for the PTO, the mechanical type if the reverse shuttle is also mechanical, or electrohydraulic if a hydraulic reverse shuttle is installed. In both cases, the PTO is operated by a mushroom-shaped button, convenient to use and of ergonomic design. There are two speeds available: 540/540 Eco and, on request, 540/1000, while a further option concerns the synchronized PTO.
Hydraulic circuit and rear power lift
Instrument panel. The elegant, brightly lit instrument panel can be regulated as to distance from the steering wheel, so that tractor operation can always be kept under close control.
Equipped with two separate pumps, one for the steering system and the other for managing the utility functions, the 4 Series is available with the standard 32 + 44 liters/min hydraulic circuit and 32 + 57 liters/ min high flow circuit. When it comes to control valves, the basic two can be increased to five, three of which
rear and 2 under-belly controlled by a joystick so that Landini’s front loader can be used. The two 4 Series sub-ranges also differ as to the rear power lift. The lifting capacity is 3400 kg for the three lower power models, while it becomes 3900 kg for the three higher power models thanks to dedicated supplementary cylinders. Entirely made by Argo Tractors, the front axle of the 4 Series ensures the tractors are easily to handle since it features a 55° steering angle. The 4-wheel drive and diff lock are electrohydraulically engaged. Front brakes, often requested by customers who use their tractors on hilly ground, are available as optionals.
Tilting bonnet. Bonnet styling reflects the Landini family feeling and fully opens at the front to facilitate access to the engine when maintenance work is performed.
4 SERIES: 4-CYLINDER TIER 4final AND TIER 4i ENGINES To comply with the Tier4i emission regulations, the range offers two different systems: the DOC Diesel Oxidation Catalyst for exhaust gas treatment. Needs no maintenance and regeneration, thus with remarkable benefits for the end user. The engines are also equipped with the EGR exhaust gas recirculation system, which also contributes towards reducing emissions.
The 4 Series comprises 6 models with two different Deutz engines, i.e. the 2.9-liter engine with 61 to 76 HP power rating and the 3.6-liter version with 85 to 107 HP power rating. Whatever the choice, the maximum power in this range is higher that the rated power, as shown by the denominations of the different models: 4-060, 4-070, 4-080 and 4-090, 4-100, 4-105. 4-060

Control panel. The panel on the driver’s right groups the main tractor controls in fully ergonomic positions.
Also designed and built by Argo Tractors, the cab is one of the most innovative features of the 4 Series. With its flat platform and 4 pillars, it was designed for all-round visibility in all directions. The transparent glass roof window and the rear window, allowing a good view of the implements, also add to the visibility. Inside, the cab is complete with every comfort and there’s great attention to detail, from the positionable, telescopic steering column to the instrument panel and pneumatic seat through to the air conditioning system with filters installed in the rear pillars, giving the roof a “slim” line and reducing the height of the machine. ■
APPLICATIONS Flexibility is the word that best describes the new 4 Series. The different configurations available are able to deal with all types of farm work, transport requirements and PTO applications, use with the front loader, hay-making, mowing jobs and orchard cultivation. Farm work Good engine torque and a wide choice of speeds allow the tractor to cope with all sorts of jobs. All this, plus excellent visibility from the rear, so that implements can be easily hitched. Comfort and safety are guaranteed by the spacious, new-concept cab. PTO applications Thanks to its efficient transmission, the 4 series can perform numerous open field jobs with all implements. The electrohydraulic PTO with modular starting system makes all implement applications very convenient to use.
Front loader The dedicated 57 liters/minute hydraulic pump installed in the three higher power models provides an excellent amount of power for the implements, especially the front loader. Underbelly control valves facilitate loader installation, while the roof window and windscreen design guarantee excellent visibility when materials are handled. Transport Driving is really comfortable thanks to the snug cab, where the controls are all in ergonomic positions. The numerous optionals for the Powershift Hi-Lo transmission, gearshifting on-load and the 40 Eco option make driving even more pleasent. Front brakes, available on request, provide total safety when the tractor is used for transport work in hilly and mountainous areas.

A new headquarters for Impellizzeri
I
mpellizzeri is one of Landini’s longest-standing concessionaires. Last 20 July, a new headquarters was inaugurated in Contrada Fegotto, Calatafimi Segesta, in the province of Trapani. An Open Day animated by lots of entertainment and “tasting” initiatives that drew a crowd of some 6 thousand to the new structure, which features everything the concessionaire needs to provide an increasingly functional service. Managed by Cav. Giuseppe Impellizzeri, who was awarded by Landini with a large commemorative plaque for the occasion, the concessionaire continues to be a family business thanks to Cav. Impellizzeri’s two daughters Linda and Francesca, who both work for the firm. During the Open day, which lasted from the afternoon until late evening, Impellizzeri exhibited the models of the entire Landini range, the brand with which he is doing an excellent job in the provinces of Trapani and Palermo.

aretra.com, Landini’s concessionaire in Puglia, has been working for over thirty years in the agricultural machinery sector and, last 27 October, celebrated its new work program with Argo Tractors during an Open Day. The event underscored the concessionaire’s constructive spirit and the passion with which the business is conducted. Faretra.com is a long-standing enterprise in the Foggia area, being remarkably advanced both as to products and services. Customer’s can count on an organization covering some 6,000 sq m with a showroom more like that of a car dealer. All this plus an in-house workshop, mobile workshops for interventions on the customers’ premises and a series of authorized workshops able to guarantee prompt and qualified service throughout the area.

Some one thousand customers stopped by during the day’s event, very curious and anxious to see the tractor models on show. These included Landini’s recent 5H and 5D ranges as well as the well-known Rex series, one of the most appreciated and widely used for the specialized crops in Central-South Italy. The guests were welcomed to the Open Day by the Faretra brothers Fausto, Antonio, Alfonso and Gerardo, and by their father Cataldo, who founded the concessionaire enterprise and has entertained long-standing relations with the Landini brand.

An understanding strengthened by the concessionaire’s recent undertaking to supply Landini’s products and services for the entire range, i.e. power ratings ranging from 25 to 230 HP. In the case of Jonny Parolin, one of Moret’s customers and purchaser of two Powerfarm tractors for snow-clearing, forestry and mowing work, it was a real marriage. Strongly enthusiastic about his work and the Landini brand, Jonny Parolin decided to demonstrate his devotion to Landini even during his wedding last year. To do this, he gave each table at his wedding banquet the name of a Landini model and even had his fa-

oncessionaire for the province of Forlì and Cesena, Raggi Carlo celebrates 50 years of collaboration with the Landini brand this year. An anniversary that Landini decided to award by presenting a commemorative plaque to Rita Raggi, daughter of the company’s founder. The plaque was consigned last 4 March during the concessionaire’s visit, along with some forty customers, to the Fabbrico and Luzzara facilities. Raggi is situated in Sogliano al Rubicone and, although it works in a small area, it represents an important share of the market for the Landini brand in an extremely particular district, mostly occupied by mountain enterprises. Raggi has always been appreciated locally for its excellent relations with the customers and the optimum after-sales service provided. The well-known professionalism of Landini’s tractors in the specialistic segment is perfect for the farmers who work in the concessionaire’s area. The Landini tractors most in demand include the Trekker crawler models, Mistral tractors and the Powerfarm and Powermondial series.

gricentro Piceno of Castel di Lama (Ascoli Piceno), has been a Landini concessionaire for almost two years and is backed by over forty years of experience in the agricultural machinery sector. Experience that allows the company to conduct its business with great skill and professionalism. So much so, it is much appreciated by customers in the area of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo, where Agricentro Piceno collaborates with a workshop for on-the-spot assistance. Managed by proprietor Paolo Alessandrini, his son Giuliano and daughter Stefania, the concessionaire has important customers in the zone, one of which being Ciu Ciu, a winery situated in Offida (AP), an enterprise that has transformed the most authentic expression of the area in which it is situated into a true vocation. The winery recently purchased 4 Landini tractors from the concessionaire of Castel di Lama: three Trekker crawler models and a Landpower, machines that comply to perfection with the philosophy of Ciu Ciu since they combine sturdiness and reliability with the most modern technical solutions to have been developed in the agricultural machinery sector.

Palm Mach: a record for “Made in Italy” tractors
P
alm Mach Sdn Bhd has been Landini’s importer for Malaya and Indonesia since 1993. Last year, the importer rose to second place on the markets with the Landini brand, obtaining the record in this area for a product that’s Made in Italy, against a local offer based on well-known international brands manufacturered in Turkey, Brazil, Mexico, India and China marketed at prices 40% lower. Despite the difficult market, also due to a climate that’s often extreme, Palm Mach does an excellent job in the area by not only providing high quality products but also an impeccable after-sales service. Tractors in the 80 to 100 HP power bracket, such as Landini’s DT 8860, Globalfarm 90 and 100 models, are particularly popular in this area. Each year, the importer organizes lots of practical demos with Landini tractors in vast areas of Malaya and Indonesia where palm oil is produced.

andini’s importer for the Philippines, Supertrade, certainly deserves to be successful since it has always based its business activities on the quality and performance of the brands it markets and on the efficiency of its after-sales service. A policy that has allowed the importer to lead the market with Landini tractors despite the competition from internationally famous brands manufactured in Mexico, Brazil, Turkey, India or China, which are also sold in the country. Landini’s flagship products in the Philippines are most especially the Globalfarm 100, Landpower 125 and 165 tractors. Supertrade has very important customers in the Philippines including Del Monte and Dole, international behemoths in the pineapple cultivation field that use the Landpower series for their crops.

major stakeholder in the market of Morocco, Landini’s importer Dimateq possesses one of the world’s most important names in the field of agricultural machines and implements. With more than 1000 Argo Tractors’ tractors sold in 2013, 910 of which were Landini models, Dimateq now possesses 25% of Morocco’s market with further potential for growth in the years to come. All this has raised Argo Tractors to second place on the Moroccan market. Working through able concessionaires, the importer markets tractors throughout the agricultural part of the country where mechanization is strongly developing, especially with regard to extensive crop cultivation and horticulture. Last 29 January, the importer held a meeting with the concessionaires and during the event, a commemorative plaque attesting to the important results achieved was awarded by Landini to the Chairwoman of the group, Saida Lamrani Karim. Dimateq obtained many other acknowledgements for having achieved such remarkable goals, one of these being an award cruise of five days in the Mediterranean last year.
Landini gets ahead in the digital world

lways on the lookout for technological innovations, Landini now takes a big step forward in the world of communication and goes digital. Lots of upgrades have been made thanks to the new media available. First and foremost the website, www.landini.it, a reference point for all Landini enthusiasts who want rapid, up-to-date information. The website has recently been given a new, user-friendly layout that’s more linear and full of interesting images, video clips and photos. The products section is completely new. It’s been given a “product selector” that helps users to choose the best tractor model for their needs depending on certain specific parameters: type of use, number of cylinders, power rating and type of transmission.
