MOMENTS are at the heart of the theatre experience. The productions we bring to vibrant life onstage are composed of moments you won’t see anywhere else. ATC is proud to bring professional theatre, produced in Arizona by Arizonans, to two of the state’s finest cities. We enter our 49th season of bringing you the kind of moments only live theatre can bring. One moment may elicit gasps, the next one, cheers – next you may laugh or experience that special moment where you really connect to the story and the theatre comes alive. Our performances run the gamut from pure musical entertainment to complex stories that challenge stereotypes – along with a wide array of community outreach programs and new play initiatives. Our connection to the stage and your experience with us is what drives our work. With thanks for the past – and with great aspirations for the future! See you at the theatre,

From the depths of Czarist Russia, to New York’s Lower East Side, Irving Berlin’s story embodies the American dream. Hershey Felder, the bravura performer, compelling storyteller, and superb concert pianist, who thrilled us with George Gershwin Alone, returns to ATC in another not-to-be-missed musical. Felder’s latest brings to vibrant life the remarkable story of “America’s Composer,” Irving Berlin, who wrote such classics as White Christmas and God Bless America. Hershey Felder’s performance makes this evening an unforgettable journey.

There are some topics you just shouldn’t discuss at a dinner party. Disgraced is the critically-acclaimed Broadway hit about Amir Kapoor, a successful Pakistani-American lawyer who is climbing the corporate ladder while distancing himself from his cultural roots. When Amir and his wife Emily, a white artist influenced by Islamic imagery, host a dinner party, what starts out as a friendly conversation escalates into something far more damaging. We are thrilled to bring you the regional premiere of this blistering Broadway hit. Contains mature language.

01/16/16 – 02/06/16

/

Phoenix

02/11/16 – 02/28/16

One of the most beloved plays of our time, Fences tells the gripping story of African-American garbage-collector Troy Maxson, a star baseball player whose career was blunted by the racism prevalent in pre-Jackie Robinson America. Muscular and lyrical, this beloved August Wilson blockbuster shows what can happen when a strong man is robbed of his dreams. Fences is a searing, stunning play that is as classically American as baseball itself. Contains mature language.

Emotional and stirring, John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men follows two friends – Lennie and George – as they drift from job to job across the fields and farms of Central California during the hardship of 1920s America. This is a timeless tale of friendship, loneliness, loyalty, sacrifice, and the human connections that form our bedrock for survival in desperate times. Of Mice and Men is as resonant, emotionally shattering and startlingly relevant now as ever before.

STUDENTS OF TODAY ARE THE ARTISTS OF TOMORROW. ATC’S LEARNING & EDUCATION PROGRAMS INSPIRE CREATIVITY IN SCHOOLS AND ACROSS THE STATE IN A NUMBER OF WAYS, BOTH CONNECTED TO OUR STAGE AND BEYOND OUR WALLS. YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT OF ATC MAKES PROGRAMS LIKE THESE POSSIBLE: PROLOGUE Arrive early and enjoy an engaging pre-show conversation providing insight, context, and behind-the-scenes information on the play. This popular program takes place 30 minutes prior to each performance after Opening Night. Prologue is included with your ticket purchase; visit the show schedules for more information. POST-SHOW DISCUSSIONS Go right to the source! An ATC staff member leads a post-show conversation with actors, guest artists, and audience members. Offered after select mainstage performances with your ticket purchase; visit the show schedules for more information. LEFT: Photo by Arizona Theatre Company.

PLAY GUIDES Comprehensive Play Guides are created for each of our plays and are available free on ATC’s website as a resource for all patrons. Each Play Guide delves into contextual and historical information about the play, and provides a behindthe-scenes peek at the production process. Play Guides are included with your ticket purchase; visit ATC Learning & Education on our website for more details. RIGHT: Imago Dei students, PictureThis (with Tucson Museum of Art). MySHAKESPEARE This is a multi-layered, active and engaging learning project focusing on the themes of Shakespeare’s plays. By breaking down the language barrier and making Shakespeare accessible to young people across Arizona, this program develops dramatic and textual expertise as well as personal creativity and confidence. SUMMER ON STAGE / SUMMER BACKSTAGE Summer on Stage offers deep, sustained and meaningful learning experiences for all involved. These five-week professional theatre training programs culminate in fully realized productions performed on ATC’s mainstage at the Temple of Music and Art, providing an experience that prepares young people for a creative and engaged life in the arts or in any field! Email education@ arizonatheatre.org for more information. RIGHT: Adrianna Cota, two-time Summer Backstage participant. Photo by Saguaro Shadows Photography.

STUDENT MATINEE SERIES Student Matinees allow ATC to share the live theatre experience at low or no cost to young people throughout Arizona. If your child’s school is interested in attending a Student Matinee, please email education@arizonatheatre.org for more information.
