When Entering Yerevan

The first safe expression that the tourists always share is as follows “What a nice weather”. It is already October, the fall is already in its full swing but the weather is as sweet as never: it is not hot and it is not very cold and even the short rains are too enjoyable. This is the period of the best dresses and accessories. All the suitcases are full of colored jackets and scarfs and when they are on you, you seem to be messed with the already turned leaves and trees in the of heart magic parks and gardens of Yerevan. October 2013 seems to be poetic and bohemian in Yerevan. People spend the 90% of 24 hours outside: the outside cafes, tea houses, theaters and cinemas, libraries and concert halls, streets and avenues are full of people belonging different cultures and nationalities. Yes, it is because the prestigious festivals and expos have already started. To cut a long story short, the city is in a fast rhythm and non-standard pulse. This month TourInfo is also full and rhythmic…. full of interesting articles about the cultural life of the country, tourism news, interesting projects and just useful information. Be informed about how the first night of the opera “Artsvaberd” passed, about the tourism event organized by the Tourism Institute of Yerevan, follow the recommendations of the famous pianist Julia Zilberquit. Armenian Jazz is something great and unique. This fall we celebrate the 75th anniversary of Armenian Jazz. Mezzo Production as a leading company in the organization of concerts, large-scale cultural and corporate events organizes a real Jazz Event for all the lovers of jazz and especially Armenian Jazz. Everything interesting is inside: turn the pages and never miss your chance to combine the interesting with the useful. Enjoy your stay! Best regards

Julia Zilberquit ~ World-Famous Pianist and Interesting Personality Russian-born American pianist Julia Zilberquit has earned critical acclaim as a recitalist, orchestral soloist, chamber musician and recording artist. Welcome To Armenia

during the intervals between tense rehearsals and have a short but very meaty conversation with her. It is worth mentioning that Mss. Zilberquit is excellently fluent both in English and Russian and we had no linguistic barrier and difficulty when communicating. Actually it was not her first visit to Armenia. Our conversation discovered that Julia Zilberquit was very much informed about Armenia, Yerevan and national culture. Especially she was impressed by the singing and dancing fountains in the Republic square telling us that while walking there she enjoyed the show of the variegated fountains under the music of Bach. Julia Zilberquit recommends all our tourists first of all organizing walks especially through the center of the Yerevan city and tasting the incredible Dolma from Armenian cuisine. On the day of our meeting she had very positive expectations from the Armenian audience and we hope that they were fully satisfied. The pianist loves travelling and Armenia still remains in her future plans. Matenadaran (the museum of ancient manuscripts) and Lake Sevan wait for her. TourInfo as usual looks forward to meeting such kind of outstanding personalities and being close to the real art again and again.

I’d like to Appear in Semi-open Windows àõ½áõÙ »Ù ѳÛïÝí»É ÏÇë³µ³ó Éáõë³ÙáõïÝ»ñáõÙ 12-year-old Jemma Mkrtchyan suffers from incurable disease diabetes. Her disease appeared because of the poor condition of the family: as soon as she got married Jemma's mother moved to her husband Armen Trverdyan’s rented apartments. Often, for not paying the rent they appeared outside and pregnant Armine had to sleep on the street again with a coat on her. At nights her father did different jobs wearing different clothes not to be recognized by anyone. Jemma is not the only child in the family: 14-year-old Michael left the study of his own accord ignoring parents’ advice, and got a job of an entertaining little elephant. With his first salary which was only three thousand drams, he bought for Jemma honey. Jemma confessed her doctor that wishes to appear in “Semi-open Windows” hoping that if the program helps some of the others she might also be noticed because she feels a need of each of us.

Artsvaberd The First Night of the Opera was a Real Success September the 1st was an exclusive day for the Armenian so called “artsvabuyn” (“Eagle Aerie”) Shushi city... On the eve of 22nd anniversary of Nagorno-Karabakh's Independence there was the first night of Andrey Babaev’s / 1923-1964 / opera "Artsvaberd" in the author's native land, in Artsakh, Shushi, in the outdoor area of famous Real College. More than half a century ago "Artsvaberd" opera with its national spirit and rich melodic and deep emotions and lyricism became a some kind of significant stage of opera art and for many years remained in the repertoireof the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet after A. Spendiaryan. "Artsvaberd” is actual and will remain as such for all time, because it is based on the eternal themes of work , love and hate, conflict of good and evil, uprightness and folk wisdom. The current scenario of the performance is interpreted in a new way, which gives fresh breath to the opera. On that day Shushi was visited by numerous officials, artists and guests from different countries. In the nearby villages of Shushi, where there were heard " Artsvaberd ' voices, the residents moved out from their houses with chairs, arranged them outside and sat silently “to follow” the acts of the opera. “The participants were highly impressed and they were leaving taking with them the divine breath, the light that prevailed throughout the whole performance: it was an indescribable condition ... It was ... It was not a concert, it was a prayer ... “says the author of the project and the art director Sarine Avtandilyan. In Artsakh the first night of the opera“Artsvaberd " is a culturally significant event ... This huge project was realized under the high patronage of the spouse of the President of the Republic of Armenia Mrs. Rita Sargsyan, and with support of the Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs of Nagorno- Karabakh Republic.

Welcome to Yerevan One of the Most Ancient cities in the World Welcome to the day when Yerevan is going to celebrate its 2795th anniversary. The next meeting of EURHODIP – a support association for hotel and tourism schools inside and outside Europe,in Yerevan on October 11th -13th, will give to the Armenian Institute of Tourism an opportunity to integrate more actively into the European, as well as the worldwide educational system. As a proof to this is the participation of the students of the Armenian Institute of Tourism to the annual educational competitions of EURHODIP like Marianne Muller, as well as the fact that student of the Armenian Institute of Tourism MarietaVanoyan and the Institute as well won the first prize in Slovenia in 2013. Yerevan is deeply interested in such events. The rich cultural heritages, the development of infrastructure, friendship and hospitality of the citizens of Yerevan have become factors which made our capital one of the most visited cities in the world. In recent years Yerevan has become the place for major international congresses and conferences. As a proof to this is the International Conference of UNWTO in Armenia (Yerevan, October 2012) "Universal Values and Cultural Diversity in the 21st Century: The Contribution of tourism" with the participation of UNWTO General Secretary TALEB RAFAI and the acceptance of YEREVAN DECLARATION. I hope that the board of EURHODIP members meeting held in Yerevan will carry out its purposes, exchange of ideas, experience in this sphere, as well as contribute to the improvement of hotel services in our city. And finally, you will have some time to get acquainted with our city, to have a nice time here in order to have a wish to be back here and hold the next EURHODIP conference.
