LIST OF ART FAIR EXHIBITORS John Ahearn Clay • Tecumseh, Michigan Ever since high school I have had a passion for ceramics. For the past eight years I have devoted my studies to doing just that, focusing my time and energies on my studio practice. My desire to learn more has never been stronger, the more I uncover, the more I want to continue. Susan Amstutz Painting • Adrian, Michigan For Susan Amstutz, painting is an obsession. Oil and mixed media paintings show the variety and depth of her vision, from richly textured, mysterious abstractions to lush midwestern landscapes. Amstutz, a Michigan native, received a BFA from the University of Michigan in Painting and Drawing. Cameo Anderson Digital painting • Adrian, Michigan I am a fan of the weird and the wild. I love animals, Taco Bell, writing and sleeping. My enjoyment of working in the visual arts field is increased by my legal blindness — it’s fun to confound expectations. Mike Barker Sculpture • Bay City, Michigan Mike Barker earned his BFA at Adrian College where he interned at Flatlanders Sculpture. Ultimately he was hired at Flatlanders, assisting Ken Thompson in building and erecting his sculpture. He has gone on to develop his own studio, Multimedia Designs in Bay City. Barker’s large-scale sculptures have been installed in Port Huron, Adrian, Saugatuck, and Canton. He has varied art interests including ceramics, ice sculpture, stone, and steel. (Demos: Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) C.J. Bauschka Jewelry • Adrian, Michigan What can I say, I'm a totally devoted Bead Freak, designing, and instructing in the art of Off-Loom Bead Weaving. My passion for this art form has grown past my wildest dreams into being a published artist. I teach weekly classes at Adrian's local Hobby Lobby. I'm a very proud Mom of eight amazing children and extremely in love with my hubby Kevin. My life is blessed beyond measure and God gets all the glory for it. Marcy Bradley Painting • Brooklyn, Michigan The fine arts have been my passion since a very young age. I am experienced in several mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography and mixed media. Paint is my favorite medium with which to express my creativity and my style can be defined by captivating colors, bold lines and organic movements throughout each piece.
Elizabeth Bronson Jewelry • Tecumseh, Michigan Pearl Kissed Jewelry is a mother/daughter partnership of Ellen VanHully-Bronson and Isobel Cary Bronson that started in 2004. Ellen draws a feminine inspiration from years of Architectural Design while Isobel’s training in Mechanical Engineering and Biochemistry lend organic influence to her work. Their jewelry is made of sterling silver and gold-filled metals with freshwater pearls, gemstones and the occasional Swarovski crystal. Cindy Burghardt Jewelry • Toledo, Ohio It all began when I was getting ready to send my son off to college. I ran across his bag of marbles and I wanted to do something different with them. That’s how it all began. My creations consist of fried and un-fried, new, vintage, and antique marbles. I am having a ball, or should I say a marble? Marjorie Castle Watercolors • Adrian, Michigan Watercolor is my favorite, but using water based oils, acrylics, and speed ball paints in monotypes has broadened my scope. Portraits in pastels, oils and pencil have been a challenge lately. I enjoy landscapes, portraits, everyday objects. People in action and repose inspire me as does the beauty in nature. Jerald Chatfield Woodcarving • Tecumseh, Michigan I have been woodcarving since 1984. I’m mostly self-taught. Most of my carvings are in relief, but I like experimenting with all facets of the art, including taking classes. I carve with fellow carvers locally in a club setting, teach carving classes and demonstrate the art of woodcarving throughout the lost arts. (Demos: Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) Benjamin K. Coffman Ceramics and painting Adrian, Michigan Ben Coffman is a graduate of Adrian College who creates functional ceramic pieces and paintings. He is mostly inspired by history, culture, and the shapes and colors of nature while incorporating these inspirations into his work. (Demos: Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) Pat Cooper Watercolor • Adrian, Michigan As a graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, I work mostly in water-based media. Growing up in Detroit during the Motown years plus extensive travel to the Hermitage, the Louvre, the Vatican, Israel, China and even Lapland have helped to mold these colorful visions. I invite others to share the experience of original, affordable art. (Demos: Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
Pat Deere Stained Glass • Tecumseh, Michigan I have had 25-plus years of stained glass experience consisting mainly of custom designed glasswork for specific installations. Glass is my medium. I find the play of light on it, how sun affects the colors and textures throughout the day, the story told within, and the feeling derived from it cannot be duplicated by any other source. (Demos: Friday 4-7 p.m.)
Melvin Fuller Photography • Milan, Michigan My documentary photography records scenes from the world around us, views that we see every day but seldom take the time to really look at. A career as a Mechanical Engineer informs my works, helping to distill my vision into the simplest elements. For this reason I favor black and white prints although on occasion I will feature color scenes.
Mike Dickie Photography • Adrian, Michigan From experiencing the stark realities of life during my law enforcement career with the federal government, I now focus my retirement years photographing the beauty of the world around me. Corky Dunsmore Ceramics • Bowling Green, Ohio Caught by the craft of ceramics 20+ years ago, C. Corky Dunsmore apprenticed herself to teacher Edith Franklin at the 577 Foundation in Perrysburg, Ohio, to learn all things pottery. I have a secondary interest in architecture and macro photography and enjoy making abstract photos from macro subjects. Suzanne French-Willis Photography • Tecumseh, Michigan First camera in 1967, second an Olympus SLR in the mid ’70s, third a Nikon SLR (F1 body) with a 35mm, 50mm, and telephoto lenses.
