If there is one question that shapes every decision we make at Art Center, it is this: How can we provide the best educational experience possible for our students? It’s also the question we pose to all our philanthropic partners. Whether we are talking to an alumnus about creating a scholarship, an entrepreneur about making an in-kind gift of lighting or software, or a corporation about sponsoring a class project, providing our future art and design leaders with resources to maximize their long-term success is always paramount. The 870 building, new home to Art Center Illustration and Fine Art (see page 12), is no exception to this rule. The first tangible expression in 10 years of the College’s plans for expansion, 870 isn’t just a striking new addition to the South Campus landscape. It is, at its heart, a dynamic facility that solves many of the educational challenges our students have faced in the past while paving the way for a future of expanded learning opportunities. Alumni, faculty, staff, families and friends all joined forces to make 870 a reality and a success. And so far, the new building has received rave reviews, especially from our students. On their behalf, and for all of us at the College, I offer my thanks to all our donors, who demonstrate again and again how harnessing our collective strengths can yield exceptional results.

Robert C. Davidson, Jr. Chairman, Board of Trustees Art Center College of Design

Honor Roll of Donors July 2012–June 2013

Art Center hit an all-time fundraising record in 2013. During the period starting July 1, 2012, and ending June 30, 2013, alumni, friends and other supporters helped propel the College’s fundraising total to pass the $24 million mark—an increase of nearly 150 percent over last year’s total. We are particularly grateful to Peter and Merle Mullin for their extraordinary commitment of $15 million, the largest gift in the College’s history, to support future creative leaders, fuel campus growth and help fund a new building. Whether our donors choose to support scholarships, facility improvements, educational programs or the College’s greatest needs, their generosity significantly enriches the experience of all our students and helps Art Center set a new standard for art and design education. Arwen Duffy Senior Vice President Development and External Affairs

The support of our generous donors makes all that we do at Art Center possible. This Honor Roll acknowledges all contributions to the College in fiscal year 2012–13, including active pledges and gifts made from July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013. On behalf of the Art Center community, we thank you—our friends and supporters—for helping make Art Center a global leader in art and design education. We have made every effort to ensure the accuracy of this document. If an error or omission has occurred, please contact Maya Fredrickson at 626.396.2455 so that we can correct our records. Contributions made by two or more individuals with different surnames are listed alphabetically by one of the surnames; please check under all related surnames to find the acknowledgment.
