GAME ON
When we stumbled upon the Fandom Gamer Den, I wasn’t sure how to help Kal understand that everyone on the couches were waiting their turn to play (or at least pretending to wait their turn while they ate snacks). It was cool how Fandom divided the space to be two dens—one from the ’80s and one from the ’90s—with different furniture and video games to feel like we were time traveling. Kal ended up only getting to play Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots with a stranger, but that seemed to be enough.
Gaming demos and tournaments were all over the Floor. Lego brought models and mini builds for its participants while War for the Planet of the Apes required players to mount a horse body. Kal remembers he did not want to wait in line to get on the horse.
