A1: Time Line Assignment Guidance: ●

Read and follow this guidance carefully. If needed, print a copy out for quick access.

To begin, CLICK HERE to go to a very useful website with a FULL timeline for you to explore.

Explore the time-line and make notes if needed.

YOUR task is to make your own Time-Line which includes the following 10 items:

1. The FIRST pernament image 2. The FIRST photo of a person 3. The FIRST ariel photo 4. The FIRST colour photo 5. The FIRST action photo 6. The FIRST under-water colour photo 7. The FIRST photo from space 8. The FIRST photo-map of the nigh sky 9. The FIRST magazine to publish everything in colour 10. The FIRST digital still camera


A1: Time Line To make your own time-line you will use an online tool called: Time-Toast. CLICK HERE to go to this website. For each item on your time-line you should include the following 3 items: • A picture • Some information (a sentence or two) about the photograph/ photographer • Evidence of your source (where you got your information from)

LOG IN: You now have two options: 1) Make your own account (NB:You will need to use your academy email address to verify this), and as this will be your own account, you will need to ensure you note your username and password. 2) Alternatively, you can use an account created by your teacher: Follow the guidance below:

On the TimeToast website near the top right of the window, you should see a link to allow you to 'LOG IN'. Click this (Log In) link to get started... Ask your teacher for the: Username & Password

Write these log-in details into your planner/journal so that you can refer to them later!

When logged in begin by adding a new time-line.

To make a new time-line click on the link called: + Add a new timeline.

A1: Time Line Making new Time-Lines: During and throughout your research, you will/ should have sourced and/ or taken some photographs which you plan to include in your work. All images/ photographs that you take/ use in your work should be explained and presented in your journal. The best way to do this is to make and use 'Contact Sheets'. â—? Follow the steps below to make your contact sheet for this assignment: â—?

Begin by giving your new timeline a description (Title): A1 - My Photography timeline by (Use your full name in the title) NB: You may also like to give your new timeline a picture too. Simply find a picture that you would like, save it to your PC and then follow the instructions to upload it. Click on the button called: GO when ready.

Items within the timeline are called: Events. You can add as many 'Events' to your timeline as you like. To add your first event, click on the button called: + Add an Event.

As your first event will be 'First Pernament Image', this is what your event should be called. The year of this event is: 1826. Therefore add this date into the space provided. The day for events may not be listed. If you do not know the day, simply set to 1st Jan. From your research, Add the relevant text and information for your event and upload a picture too.

When all information is added, click on the button called:Create Event to add it to your timeline.

Repeat this process until all 10 events are included in your timeline. You can preview your timeline at any point by using the VIEW TIMELINE link which is located at the left side of the screen.

When you have finished making your time-line, you will need PUBLISH your work so that it can be viewed correctly by your teacher(s). Locate the option to 'Publish' your work, then use the share function to share your work via email with your teacher/friends.
