A2: Oil Pastel Portrait need to use a minimum of TWO colours, however you can use many tones of your chosen colours.
Instructions: 1. Make sure you do you research before you begin this task. Check out other pupils work in the online
eGallery. 2. For example: You may decide to use 'BLUE' for the face, therefore you should also identify and use
LIGHT, MEDIUM and DARK tones of blue within your portrait. Use the LINKS feature to access worksheets that will help illustrate this process to you. 3. Make sure you have read the assessment objectives using (Assessment For Learning), so that you know
how your work will be marked. 4. Use techniques that you have learnt in class to help your work develop using good basic structure. 5. This assignment is to be done on ‘A1’ (size) drawing paper, and your portrait should fill the whole
drawing space/ area.
Tips:
For the background (your second chosen colour) try to use a colour that compliments/ contrasts the colour you use for the foreground (Portrait). Visit the WAVA Blog for help with colour theory.
