A2: Oil Pastel Portrait


For this assignment you are required to create an OIL PASTEL study/ portrait. Your work will need to use a minimum of TWO colours, however you can use many tones of your chosen colours.


A2: Oil Pastel Portrait Instructions: 1. Make sure you do you research before you begin this task. Check out other pupils work in the online eGallery. 2. For example: You may decide to use 'BLUE' for the face, therefore you should also identify and use LIGHT, MEDIUM and DARK tones of blue within your portrait. Use the LINKS feature to access worksheets that will help illustrate this process to you. 3. Make sure you have read the assessment objectives using AFL icon, so that you know how your work will be marked.

Tip: For the background (your second chosen colour) try to use a colour that compliments/ contrasts the colour you use for the foreground (Portrait). Use the weblink in the LINKS for more information about colour theory and the use of contrasting colours.
