OUTCOME: • The main/ final outcome (A1) will be painting based on the students personal response to music that they choose to use as inspiration.
A1: MUSIC •
Prior to starting this assignment, students should have completed a series of development tasks inside sketchbooks.
•
The painting should reflect, and incorporate the style of Kandinsky (the artist used throughout this project for inspiration).
•
It is important that students produce a 'prep' piece of work using a full page in their sketchbooks, before attempting the final work/ painting. This will help students practice and refine their final work.
•
The subject of the students final painting will be based on a 'response' to a piece or pieces of music. While listening to music, students should take notes on how the music makes them feel, illustrate shapes and patterns that may come to mind, and use colours which reflect mood and atmosphere.
•
The final painting should look 'Abstract' and 'Expressive'.
