RINA BAKIS

RINA BAKIS INTRODUCTION

We are delighted to finally Exhibit Rina Bakis work. I met Rina in a fortuitous encounter, and I was bewitched by the beauty and strength of her work. It is full of colour and movement, sometimes explosive and sometimes gentle, like a warm summer wind.

Through her work, Rina talks to us about buildings and climate change, and sometimes about nature, lakes, trees, and dreams of happiness. Colour is essential in her work; combined with completely abstract shapes that somehow reflect natural forms, she tells us magical stories of dreams and desires.

I cordially invite the viewer to explore this magical world and be amazed as I was.

RINA BAKIS TRILOGY

Rina Bakis’ art revolves around the exploration and expression of energy through the dynamic power of colours. Having lived in many countries around the world and studying graphic design and architectural technician degree influenced her understanding of form, space, and composition by giving her work a unique perspective.

Rina’s paintings reflect her background and its profound connection to the ever-changing tapestry of life which captures the energy of nature, harnessing the play of light and colours.

YAEL DAVID COHEN

YAEL DAVID COHEN

Artelectrico is delighted to present Yael David Cohen. Yael is a master artist and we are particularly proud that Yael has joined our group at Artelectrico. I have admired her work for many years and I am the owner of several of her pieces. For this exhibition with us, "TRILOGY", Yael has produced a wonderful collection of etchings and textile works that draw inspiration from nature and life itself. She plays with time, people, places and situations that transport the viewer to memories of moments lived and invoke their own past experiences. Yael enjoys producing textile art; which is a dificult and laborious medium. It requires experience in sewing, appliqué, quilting, and painting. Textile wall hangings have been around for thousands of years, however more modern pieces are three dimensional, have volume, colour and meaning

that gives them an almost living presence. Yael is also exhibiting a collection of etchings and relief prints, she is a very experienced print artist. Her work has the same quasi-magical property to elicit new thoughts and bring lost memories.

To the viewer: Please explore this exhibition without preconceptions and allow the art to take you to forgotten places and experiences.

YAEL DAVID COHEN BACKGROUND

Yael David-Cohen studied art in Israel at the Tel-Aviv University and School of Art and completed post graduate studies in printmaking in London at St Martin’s School of Art. Her interests include large mixed media textile art, printmaking and artist books. She is a member of the prestigious European Quilt Art Group (QA85) who exhibit internationally. She has recently exhibited work in the New Prints Brooklyn Gallery New York, the International Fiber Art Biennial in Beijing and the University of South Dakota USA (Artist Books). Her work is abstract using recycled materials and her inspiration comes from natural processes.

GABRIEL ALVAREZ

GABRIEL ALVAREZ

Gabriel challenges the viewer again with new styles and techniques. On his previous solo exhibition he showed us that no matter what style, or what media the hand of the artist is always there to be seen.

On this exhibition he brings 3 works of Intaglio, as always experimenting with plate inking producing haunting images. He also brings a Mokuhanga woodcut, and works in canvas that remind us of his works during the 1980s, full of colour and expression. There are also some drawings and paintings created on the iPad .
