HIDDEN
REFLECTION IN THIS PROJECT, WE WERE ASSIGNED TO DO A PIECE OF SURREALISM. SURREALISM IS WHEN THINGS THAT ARE REAL ARE PUT TOGETHER AND JUXTAPOSED TO CREATE A SURREAL FEELING. SALVADOR DALI CHANGED THE WORLD OF ART. HE WAS A SURREALIST ARTIST WHO TESTED AND CROSSED BOUNDARIES. HE REFUSED TO STICK TO THE STATUS QUO AND KEPT PUSHING THE LIMITS. MY SURREALISM PAINTING IS NAMED HIDDEN. THE PROCESS I WENT THROUGH WAS FIRST I CAME UP WITH A LIST OF 8 THINGS. I HAD TO PUT IN A HAND, CLOTH AND WATER AS 3 OF MY OBJECTS. THE OTHER 5 WERE JUST WHAT EVER CAME TO MY HEAD. WHEN I STARTED DRAWING, I REALIZED I WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO FIT IN ALL 8 THINGS SO I ONLY DID A HEART, CLOTH, HAND AND WATER. THROUGH OUT THIS PROJECT I LEARNED HOW TO SHADE WITH CHALK. IF I HAD TO DO THIS ASSIGNMENT AGAIN I WOULD HAVE PLANNED OUT THE COMPOSITION MORE. I ALSO WOULD’VE INCLUDED MORE ELEMENTS INTO MY PAINTING. I LEARNED A LOT DURING THIS PROJECT ABOUT MYSELF AND I HAVE BECOME MORE AWARE OF HOW I ACT IN RELATION TO OTHER PEOPLE AND HOW I THINK ABOUT MYSELF. I THINK I COULD HAVE DONE BETTER WORK BUY I AM PRETTY HAPPY WITH HOW
Salvador Dali THREE SPHINXES OF B IK INI SALVADOR DALI’S PAINTING THAT SHOWS THE DESTRUCTION THAT US HUMANS ARE CREATING TOWARDS OUR OWN WORLD.

FR I DA K A HLO THROUGH THE EYES OF A THERAPIST: I THINK THAT THE PICTURE ON THE LEFT IS VERY DEEP AND HAS A LOT OF EMOTIONAL MEANING. THE MOOD THAT I’M GETTING FROM THE PAINTING IS VERY DREARY AND SAD. I THINK THE MONSTER MASK ON THE RIGHT OF THE LITTLE GIRL SHOWS HOW BEAUTY ISN’T ONLY SKIN DEEP AND BENEATH LOOKS THERE’S SOMETHING ELSE. THE FACT THAT THE GIRL’S BODY IS VERY CUTE AND PRETTY BUT THE MASK AND THE FACE IS SCARY, IS COMPLETE OPPOSITES AND IT EMPHASIZES THE FACT THAT THE TWO THINGS DO NOT GO TOGETHER. I THINK THE REASON FOR THIS EMPHASIS IS SO THAT IT MAKES IT EASIER FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGE OF THE THE PAINTING. I THINK THE PAINTING’S MESSAGE IS NOT TO JUDGE A BOOK BY IT’S COVER.
S A LVA D O R DA L I POEM DESTRUCTION GREEN NOW GRAY, RUINED, SADNESS GONE, EARTH, POLLUTION, DREARY, CHANGE, DISAPPOINTMENT
CONFLICT
A CONFLICT THAT I HAVE TO DEAL WITH IS JUST MY EVERYDAY LIFE. THE STRUGGLES THAT I HAVE TO GO THROUGH, AND THEN THE FACT THAT I HAVE DEPRESSION ON TOP OF ALL THAT. THE SMALLEST THINGS CAN AFFECT ME AND IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO REALIZE THAT THE WORLD WILL KEEP GOING AROUND ME EVEN IF I NEED TIME TO STOP. I HAVE TO LEARN THAT PEOPLE HAVE THEIR OWN PROBLEMS TO WORRY ABOUT AND THAT I CAN’T EXPECT THEM TO STOP WHAT THEY’RE DOING IN ORDER TO HELP ME OUT. SURE, SOME PEOPLE WILL HELP BUT I CAN’T DEPEND ON THEM ALL THE TIME AND I HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO DEAL WITH MY PROBLEMS ON MY OWN.
