This billboard is 31ft H x 55ft W and it’s located at 1560 Broadway, New York, NY (between 46th and 47th streets). Times Square attracts approximately 50 million visitors annually, with around 340,000 pedestrians making their way through each day, as reported by the NYC Go tourism website — ensuring a plentiful audience.

Anna Noel, Adolescent Mind Vol. I and Adolescent Mind Vol. II - The primary goal of both of these abstract works was to explore the nature of adolescent creativity as a driving force for young and continuing development. The abstract forms present in both of the works are forms that I have labored on for countless hours trying to perfect. Both of the pieces include transparent plexiglass forms that create a playful juxtaposition with the hand-dyed and hand-felted forms. The larger work is one of my larger works to date. It measures right around 7 feet tall and 4.5 feet at the widest point.

Nathan Lowry, Mural at The Station - This painting came about when I was in the national gallery of Ireland. I was admiring all of the beautiful and romantic art which filled the gallery’s walls. The one thing I noticed though was the lack of representation and varying aspects of life. I was seeing nearly exclusively heterosexual based love scenes with predominantly white couples. I wondered where all of the artwork was that included people with different backgrounds and who did not fit the status quo. I wanted to see art which represented love that involved other characters who could relate to a wider audience. The colour and composition is something that happens organically. Hédia Carron, I WOULD DIE 4 U - Once again, Prince served as my muse, my lucky charm. My work inspried of the movie and to the iconic tune of the songs of “Purple Rain” and “When Doves Cry” marked my debut in the Luxembourg Art Prize 2023, where I received a Certificate of Artistic Achievement for my body of work. Drawing inspiration from him, I embarked on creating a portrait of the Kid with the influence graphic of the record sleeve of “Welcome 2 America” into this artwork, it garnered me an Award at the 7th Figurative International Juried Art Competition hosted by the Teravarna Art Gallery in Los Angeles, earning an Honorable Mention. During this project, I found a new technique that still influences my work, thanks to Prince.

Rosemary Coan, Family Collage - I was hoping for one day to design something that would honor the original and forgotten settlers who boarded the New Netherland ship and landed on Noten Island which today is Governers Island which sits just below Manhattan and considered the birthplace of New York. During lockdown I spent time to investigate my ancestry and traced two of my descendants to being one of the first families aboard the New Netherland. In the collage artwork is my third great grandmother who married a Huguenot whose lineage of Walloons founded a town in New York in the 1600’s so going back farther brought me to Phillippe Dutrieux and wife Susanna. Have English characters in my lineage as well and more to come.

Lamees Farooq, Umaya - In my artwork, I captured the Emirati culture through the portrayal of an elderly Emirati woman adorned in traditional attire while gracefully balancing a water jar atop her head. In Emirati culture, we often refer to elderly women as “Umaya” out of respect and appreciation. Using a combination of gray and black watercolor paints and pen and ink, my intention was to portray the deep connection of heritage and tradition, as well as the rich history that is crucial to Emirati society. The delicate layers of watercolors allowed me to infuse the piece with dark hues, while the intricate details rendered in pen and ink provided depth to the woman’s attire and the jar of water. most significant contribution to the Seychelles art scene to date has been to sculpt a full-size bronze statue of a young Seychellois seafarer to commemorate the lives of all those Seychellois who have been lost to the sea since the settlement of the islands 250 years ago. This project, the brainchild of local personality Mr. Robert Grandcourt who hails from a family of distinguished mariners, will be erected on Praslin next to the new passenger jetty at Baie Ste Anne and will long remain as a monument to the seafaring spirit that epitomises the island lifestyle and also to Joseph Norah’s exceptional art for capturing it so eloquently for all eternity.
